No operating system installed

I opened my laptop Acer Extensa and it brings up the Startup Repair and then fails and says a lot of things and no operating system installed. I do not have a disk and Acer has said that they are unable to fix my computer. I saw another topic on this subject and he handed it to the factory settings but I don't know how to do :/

Hello

If you do not have a disc try to press Alt + F10 at startup

and read the information below

How to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • Two vista operating system installed, but only starts

    Hello

I hope someone could help me to overcome this problem:

My laptop with vista venus hm so high-end, as I bought it in Germany had German language. So I bought ultimate in English and do a new installation. I was very happy with it, but yesterday I tried to install the original hp vista to do the dual boot. As it was provided by Toshiba Recovery CD, it was put directly to install on the HARD disk. I knew that it will erase all data, if there is, to HDD1 and install the operating system and other programs (as it was put in the BIOS to boot from there), but previously I already installed the ultimate in disk HARD 2. I thought, the vista hp will be in 1 HDD and ultimate will be in 2 HDD so I can choose at the beginning that one to start.

However, after the installation of vista hp it show at the beginning of any other OS and just start with vista hp without giving no possibility to choose which start first. I checked this ultimate is also there, but I can't start. Can anyone, please, help me? I'd appreciate any suggestion, information and help. Thank you

    Hello

You can use the 'Vista Boot Pro' tool, which is a very good tool to manage the startup options if you have multiple operating systems installed.
    Just go here-> http://www.vistabootpro.org/
    and download the tool.

With the help of this tool, you should be able to start the two OS´s on your machine.

    Welcome them

  • Is it possible to have the 64-Bit and 32-bit operating system installed on the same computer?

    * Original title: installation of window OS

    Hi all

In my system, it's already installed 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate. I want to install 32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium. Is it possible to have two operating system installed on the same computer? Can I do it?

    PL, guide me positively.

    Best regards

    Kapil Kumar.

The amount of RAM is okay as long as you have a minimum of 2 GB installed. Even if you have more than 4 GB, it would not matter, Windows 7 Home Premium just won't recognize it.

In respect with the both, you can set up a dual-boot configuration. Please note that you must have a unique product key to activate Windows 7 Home Premium.

See the instructions how to set up a partition:

    http://www.groovypost.com/HOWTO/dual-boot-Windows-10-other-versions-Windows/

References Windows 10, but the same instructions for Windows 7 also work.

Click Start, right-click computer, click on manage

    Click on disk management

Select the system partition in which Windows 10 is installed. Right-click, and then click on cut.

Enter the amount of space you want to allocate to Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, then click on cut. The more, the better.

An unallocated partition will now be available. Right-click, and then click New Simple Volume

This will start the wizard new Simple Volume, which will allow you to format, assign a drive letter and volume label.

Once your partition is ready, you are now ready to install Windows 7

Boot from the Windows 7 Home Premium disc, then

    Click Custom (advanced option)

Select the partition we created earlier, and then click Next.

Wait for the copy of the Windows installation files.

  • Operating system installed not?

I am currently hunting for a computer on eBay and most of the computers I want to buy do not have the operating system installed on them. What does it mean when they do not have the operating system on them? Also, most of them come with the sticker COST; and have the COA sticker helps me get a BONE if I need one?

Operating system is the software that manages the hardware and software installed on the computer. In most cases, its usually Windows that is installed on the machine.

If there is a COA sticker that is attached to the machine, it means that it has been authorized with a genuine version of Windows. The COA sticker indicates the following:

Version of Windows that came on the machine (IE. Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista)

A product key: used to turn on and pair the license with the machine

Product ID: to determine the level of support for the machine

If she has not installed Windows, you will need to get the installation media for the version of Windows that came on the machine or you need to request recovery of the manufacturer of the computer media.

This application is not compatible with the operating system installed.

I'm under Win 8 64 bit. I have uninstalled and rebooted twice (both game and mod) does not.

I have to downgrade to XP to be able to play this awesome mod, he ran on this platform with the same configuration before, why he now rejects it know not only the people at Ms.

    Please help if possible

    Thank you very much

Probably, all in all probably is a 16-bit program, and as such does not work on Windows 8.0/8.1 64 bit. In addition, the game seems to have 20 years or more. You can try running in compatibility mode, but I think that the game is dead. Hope this helps and if you need help please post and we will be happy to help you.

  • Can I have - 2 operating system installed and running in two partitions of hard drive to my desktop computer?

I use Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit (a copy of the license), preloaded in my office by DELL from 20/02/2007. Before that from July 2002, I was with Windows XP Professional Pack 1 with fireplace (a copy of the license of the version DT. 25 October 2001). Because I have to go to another State for a new job, I gave the IBM Office to my friend. But the CD with operating system Windows XP pack1 is lying idle with me. I want to install the same in another partition of the hard disk to present Desktop DELL. I have partitioned my hard drive in the goal - C:\ and D:\. Now, I want to know, before you proceed further - is my scheme is feasible? The two O.S. will work in two separate partitions with regularly updated? I visited the "historical update file" and I noticed that Windows XP Professional Pack2 and Pack3 has been downloaded one installed in the system. I will give you more time using Windows XP Professional if loaded correctly in D:\ because it is more compatible with my professional needs. I invite suggestions from my learned friends.

    Thanking you in advance,

    Hello

This is the link I gave you.

    http://www.syschat.com/dual-boot-Vista-XP-Vista-already-1946.html

And I have no problerms getting there.

Www.syschat.com you give links to their chat rooms.

On an XP Pro disk, you need to ask a computer repair workshop all the copies they might have. Microsoft sells more XP

Here is another link to dual boot Vista and XP:

    http://apcmag.com/how_to_dual_boot_vista_and_xp_with_vista_installed_first__the_stepbystep_guide.htm

There are options there for dual boot the other way around.

And you don't always tell where you downloaded it from the files of XP SP1 or why you have them as asked me to.

    See you soon.

  • How to match operating system installed with licenses Correct software

I have three laptops and two desktops. Microsoft Office is loaded on each computer.  I have licenses for all machines.  My problem is I don't know what license accompanies each machine and I am doing a gift of two of the machines and want to include the correct software license.  I have the same problem with two operating systems, both professional XP.

Is it possible for me to "look in" each machine and identify the correct license?

    I appreciate all help.

If you have the installation media, that is, a way to reinstall Windows and Microsoft Office, I suggest that you wipe the hard drives using Darik Boot and Nuke (http://dban.org/). There is a link "help" at the bottom of DBAN.

If Windows came pre-installed on all computers, you can use whatever mechanism has been provided by the manufacturer to return the computer to its "fresh coming from the factory" State.  If Microsoft Office was also preinstalled, you will have to install them separately.

If you do not have something like the above, you run the risk of any personal information on the computer being recovered by one that ends with the machine by hand.

If you want to know the license keys of software installed on a computer, download and run Belarc Advisor--> http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html or of Jellybean Keyfinder magic--> https://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/

(Yes, it works for XP even if the main web page says Windows 7 and 8).

Belarc will produce a detailed report of the hardware and the software on the computer.  Of Magical Jellybean KeyFinder is a much more limited tool, but will still provide for Windows and Office product keys.

For Windows pre-installed, however, the product key that is returned by one of these tools is one used by the manufacturer at the factory.  If Windows has to be reinstalled using a CD which is the same version as the pre-installed version (e.g., XP Edition family), the product key that should be used is on the sticker affixed to the computer COST.

For some versions of Windows non-detaillants tools will return a fake license key.  The following example comes from a facility of the license Volume (VLK) key.

    Microsoft - Windows 7 Professional (x 64)

  • I am buying a new computer without an operating system installed and you want to know if my Windows 7 Upgrade disk can be used to install Windows 7?

I'll buy a kit of barebones without preinstalled operating system and was wondering if I could use my Windows 7 upgrade disk to install Windows on the new PC.

    Short answer 'NO '.

Upgrade means upgrade. An upgrade can only be used to upgrade a previous version of XP or Vista. You will need to purchase a full retail or OEM version to install on a computer without an operating system.

Is this something that I'm not just doing?

The virtual machine behaves exactly like a physical machine in this regard.  Installation of a 32 bit OS does not make your CPU a 32-bit CPU.

If you want to disable the 64-bit mode, add the following advanced configuration option:

    monitor_control.disable_longmode = TRUE

  • 32-bit and 64-bit Vista operating system installed, trying to get the webcam to take photo

I have a HP Webcam who settled in the factory on my pc laptop pavilion dv3510nr. I was able to take pictures with her when I'm on Facebook, but of course I can't understand yet how to do anything else with it at all outside of Facebook. I read something that said I had to download the latest version of Quickplay, but when I entered the information for my computer, Quickplay appears. I finally found something called YouCam and downloaded that. I downloaded the 64 bit version. I did it for the version 32 - bit still.

I want to know if I need to keep download two sets of everything. I have 64-bit Internet Explorer available, but usually use 32-bit because not all websites have upgraded to 64 - bit yet. I'm just a little confused, I guess. I don't know when to download what version of bits. Can you help me?

    Luanne

you don't have to download 2 sets of drivers. If you have a 64-bit operating system, then download the 64-bit drivers. 32-bit operating system you only need 32-bit drivers. Some 32-bit drivers will work for 64-bit os.

As far the webcam goes you can go here to download the quickplay update

  • W520 - using the partition recovery without a bootable operating system installed

I have a W520 with a hard drive that has been completely wiped out the Q/recovery partition.

Is there a workflow for using the recovery partition to rebuild the factory Windows 7 install?

    1. Enter ImageX from Microsoft (somewhere).
    2. get a USB bootable with Windows 7 installation
    3. Prime the USB key and enter repair tools (command prompt)
    4. navigate to the recovery partition, file FactoryRecovery.
5 Note the size of the sdrivebackup.wim
    6. use DISKPART to create a partition of at least that size. Make sure that it is the first, it is active and defined at startup.
    7. use ImageX to apply sdrivebackup.wim to this partition.

The command should be: ImageX/apply [recoverypartition]:\FactoryRecovery\sdrivebackup.wim [newpartition]:------]
8 can use DISKPART to create a partition of Windows 7 Fluxsol (probably all the remaining space).
    9. again, use ImageX to apply cdrivebackup.swm to the newly created partition of Windows 7.

The command should be: ImageX/apply [recoverypartition]:\FactoryRecovery\cdrivebackup.swm [newwindowspartition]:------]

Ideally this should operate. If it doesn't, try a reboot system Windows Installer USB tool to solve any problem of bootloader.

  • Replacement hard drive - how to get a license of operating system installed

    HP Pavilion dv6-3133nr

    Windows 7 64 bit

System partitions and recovery are intact (I connected the hard drive to another computer, back up the Documents folder, browsed leave them system and recovery)

But with the HARD disk in the Pavilion, I turn it on, press F11. The warnings about SMART 301 rise and the Recovery Manager does not load.

So if I get a new hard drive... How can I get my Windows OS installed on it licensed?

This idea of HARD drive recovery works if you get a corruption of software on the C: drive. But not if you have to replace the equipment!

    Thank you for the pointers

    Ken

    Hi, Ken:

You will need to order a set of recovery disks.

Click on the link below and click the order recovery media.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4063&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=4323542#N579

Or you can make your own simple windows installation media if you can read all 25 characters of the product key of Windows 7 on the bottom of your laptop.

Here is how to do this.

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. The link below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://download.CNET.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-download-tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.
