You have installed chrome? It's looking like a recent update of chromium may be the cause. Here are two patches.

When you try to create a new folder, there is no option to do so. I checked for viruses, and I did not. Was - that one of the updates? The only way I can create a new folder is by copying an existing folder, and then remove all what it and rename the folder.

I'm running Win 7 Ultimate and it happened on my system for the first time: when a right click to create a new folder, I can not see new option 'file' in the menu.
I remember that I did not create new records from the last 5 days, so I can't say when the problem came. But I remember that yesterday I uninstalled 'free. '
antivirus application which disappointed me a little. And it was the only action I suspect to have effect on my system.
So I can't create folders in the usual way. And I need help to solve the problem. Moreover, the cmd command line works and when I type:
MD x:\AA,
The result is a folder named AA at the root of drive x:Again, I ask for help.
Thank you

Create the new folder option malfunction since new ISP
Why can't create a new folder or subfolder in my window "Save as" or in Windows Explorer? I used to be able to. Now the closest thing I can do is to create a new Briefcase. I'm as disorganized and senseless in the management of records and digital files as I am paper and paper elements. This seems to have started when I changed ISP. Help, please!
It is not your ISP, it's Google Chrome. It is an update of Chrome, (mid), is responsible. Here are two patches.

I've just updated to the new Firefox, and now when I try to create a new folder of bookmarks, the option is gone (I see all of my folders of old, but the "New folder" option, which was on the bottom of the dropdown menu, disappeared. Or I see it anywhere else.
Looks like the theme you use has changed the button "new folder". This is probably the icon "+" under the folder tree (you can also type Alt + o in the Bookmark dialog box to create a new folder).
See my screenshot for the placement w / the default theme.

Re: Windows 7 won't allow me to create a new folder
Windows does not create a new folder.
Right click offers many options, including "create new portfolio" but not a new folder. By clicking on the record button create does nothing. This is something new, but I can't think of anything that I did recently to make it. It sounds like a permissions problem, but I can't find a solution.
Have you checked the folder permissions create? Pull up the properties of the parent folder and select the Security tab and click the Advanced button. Double-click the user, and you will see permissions of created files.

Go to where the files, select the files and then use the right mouse button to drag the files into the new folder. When you drop the file, a pop-up menu, select the Move option.

I don't then create a new folder on a flash drive as the NewFolder button no longer works. I have to select the napkin instead of NewFolder; so, I get an icon Briefcase instead of a folder icon open when I open the flash drive. Are we supposed to now call a folder a Briefcase?

Suddenly and without any warning, I can't create a simple "new folder"; an attempt to 'right click' offers me only: 1) a folder compressed (zip), or, 2.) a Briefcase. Why the simple "new folder" disappeared off the coast of the menu list, and HOW do I get BACK?
If I open Explorer and try to create a new folder from there, I can "click"New folder"button all DAY, but it does NOTHING.
What happens here?
I am running Windows 7 and so did 15-16 months, without any real problem, so far.
If anyone can help with this, I would CERTAINLY appreciate it.
