No Power Manager on T450s shortcut key?

I installed a X 220 to a T450s, and I see that there is no shortcut key to select a profile for more power. This seems like a huge oversight. Windows 7 only allows its profiles of power native to be learned from its quick access tools (battery icon in the tray of the taskbar or menu of the Windows key + X). Now if I want to use one of the Lenovo power profiles (which are much more customizable than the native Windows ones), I have to make visible the toolbar of the Lenovo Power Manager in my taskbar so you can double-click it and wait for the application of Power Manager to launch. So I can select a profile, 'apply' the selection and close the application.

I'm used to switching several times power profiles per day depending on whether I use the laptop on battery on my couch, use it to compile the code on AC power at work, or the half dozen of other situations. Is it possible to install the old app hot-switch selection of profiles of power on this machine and map a keyboard shortcut to this? (I'd be happy to give up some of the unnecessary shortcut keys such as "OS Search" (F10) and 'Switch Window' (F11).

The executable power profile switcher is C:\Program Files (x 86) \ThinkPad\Utilities\PWMOSDV. EXE.

PIN in your taskbar or assign a hotkey (for example with AutoHotkey).

    Hello

There is only one tool of power management. It is called; TOSHIBA Power Saver.
You can buy it on the European driver Toshiba page!
Choose the model of laptop just in the form of driver download, download it, unzip the package and install it!

  • Software Power Manager Lenovo - MDT task sequence

I work in an environment that made the deployment of the operating system via SCCM 2007 SP2 R2 with MDT 2010 Update 1 integration.  I have a MDT task sequence that deploys my WIM file of Windows 7 captured laptops Lenovo predominantly (98% Lenovo fleet too).  Part of this task sequence uses rules to specifically target drivers and applications to individual models.  I'm having a LOT of trouble getting Lenono Power Manager (V3.31) software to install as part of the task sequence.

The summary of the story is this:

    • Lenovo Bluetooth software installs OK (msiexec /i Win32\BTW.msi/t 1033.mst number)
    • Lenovo Hotkey software installs OK (installation program. EXE/S)
    • I put newspapers of the installation of the power manager, and there are no errors or it 'seems' to install OK (installation program. EXE/S)
    • I can advertise the POST image software Power Manager and it installs and works OK
    • In the task sequence run in order of Power Manager, Bluetooth, shortcut keys.

If all goes well, that provides the information of someone perhaps enlighten us.  It's a little frustrating, because the package actually allows to install.  I'm almost to the point where I want to try to create a collection with rules to fill with Lenovo laptops and install then required it.  It is not a critical application - just, it would be nice to have.

OK - I found the perfect answer for this.  The syntax that was needed was the following - Setup. EXE/s /f2"C:\Support\Logs\PWRMGRV.log" - but here's the thing.  In your task sequence, do a "run command line" before this stage of the application with the command "cmd.exe /c mkdir C:\Support\Logs".  If you do not specify this, it tries to rewrite in a place where he has no rights - and as a result does not work.

  • How to use a keyword in pictures shortcut key

I've added keywords in Photos using the "keywords Manager» I selected the "Edit keywords" button and then assigned shortcuts to these keywords. For example, given two keywords (Tom, Joe) I added the '1' Tom key and '2' for Joe key. How I can use these shortcut keys to assign keywords to pictures? Help system Photos was of course worthless as long as all the apples help is. I don't understand how you can ad contribute to an application and leave out half the menu items. Apple is terrible!

The key word handle must be opened for simple working shortcuts.  You can simply move the side of the road and use shortcuts to apply a keyword to the selected photos.

  • Need a Windows XP Pro SP2 power management utility

Hello, recently I lowered my (preinstalled) HP 6820 s Vista Home to XP Pro SP2, to learn that XP isn't this nice power management utility that offered three options, for example, energy saving, optimized Mode, High Performance. So I'm currently looking for other freeware that need solutions, as it appears, that there is no official management utility XP of HP. I missed something, is there an official utility for XP and if it is not all the utilities, someone know any (preferably freeware) solutions to create profiles of power?

PS: How can I reduce brightness screen my laptop now? Unable to find the option anywhere...

    Thank you!

Edit: ignore the share of PS, totally forgot the 'Fn' key on the keyboard

  • Change the function of the shortcut key of media on the laptop itself player

    Hey everybody,

I was wondering if anyone knew a way to change what is the shortcut key to player of media on the laptop itself? I have the power button / stop, Internet, Media Player, Play/Pause, Stop, Rewind and fast forward, but the Media Player shortcut key is pretty useless to me and I would like to change its function, to open Outlook instead, but nobody knows if it's even possible?

I'm almost certain that there is a way, but I can't seem to find, if someone can help me, then I would be really happy,

    Hello

I remember that it was possible to attribute the different functions of the control buttons on several units.
I put t know which unit you use, but you should check the application of Toshiba control buttons that could be installed on your laptop.
You should find it in the control panel

This application could allow lets you configure the control buttons.
But if this software does not have this option, you will not be able to change the features

  • Where can I find XP x 64 drivers for Portege R500 - hotkey / power management?

Where can I find the downloads that will enable the power management or hotkey support for my Portege R500?

I already installed the drivers for everything except the fingerprint reader (do not want), tpm (really envy) and hdd (tos620a) motion sensor (not embarrassed at this time). Most of the drivers are recent original sites of the seller or, in the absence of those, leaving Toshiba 64-bit Vista download areas.

Everything else works generally: wifi, graphics & chipset, sound, lan, bluetooth stack, cardbus, card reader, etc.

However, after doing this, are the following questions:

FN keys do not work for suspend to ram, suspend-to-disk, * screen * brightness *-essential to extend the life. FN keys for digital/Board pad, rocker of external surveillance * work

Dedicated toggle backlight button does nothing

However, in order to get the lifetime of battery beyond ~2.5 hours and closest alongside 7.1 hours, I need to turn things down / stop occasionally. What software can help and where I can get, as it runs on Windows XP x 64 edition?

    Note:

I tried packages of 32-bit xp which provides Toshiba, they do not seem to work on x 64. The package 'chopsticks' requires 'cmod', but 'cmod' gives this error:

    Installation of Modules common TOSHIBA
Not an ACPI machine. Cannot install TOSHIBA ACPI peripheral logic.
    Ok

I tried the 32-bit xp package called 'pwrsav '; It installs a bad help link in my Start menu and adds a few exes, tpsmain and tpsoddctl, to my automatically starts. These 32-bit executables left immediately after execution.

I tried to install packages of 64-bit Vista from Toshiba hotkeys / common modules / power management, but the only one of the three I can find via toshiba.co.uk is the common modules, and unfortunately this zip file contains only .inf, .cat and .sys files, no program installation.

    Motivation:
I use a new installation at the same time because the default installation of Vista is unusable (900 MB of memory used on a fresh startup desktop, disk divided into several partitions, trial, adware and with broken software at left and right)
I use x 64 because I am software engineer the next product needs to work on x 64, and this new laptop was a likely first candidate

    Hello

    Bad news first :(

The European driver Toshiba page provides the drivers for XP 32 bit and Vista (32-bit & 64-bit).
I did find all the drivers for XP 64-bit OS.

As much as I know XP 64-bit drivers is not exist for one of the series of Toshiba laptops.

    Now a new better ;)

I found a tool called display Tuner.
It offers convenient access to the monitor settings, such as brightness, contrast, color settings.

Perhaps this is an option for you.

  • P10 554: problems with display power management

It is not possible to reactivate the display (mouse movements, pressing certain keys, pressing the key) when it is turned off by the power management system. The motherboard has already been replaced by a service representative Toshiba, I even reinstalled the system, but the problem persists. The behavior is not reproducible. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Anyone out there have the same problem? Is this a configuration problem or may be a hardware defect? It is already a known issue?

    Any ideas appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
    Karl Jost

    Hi Karl

It is not easy to say, but it is possible that there is some malfunction of the equipment. In my opinion the last try to check this is to reinstall the operating system. If the problem persists there are certainly a hardware problem.

    Good bye

The first problem was that the wireless card has not been installed, but I go to the Toshiba website and download the new one, next to this i can not activate the map with the fn + f8 key, it's the only way to activate the card.

    Any help will be welcome
    Thank you

    Hello

Hmm. Win 7 drivers are not yet out, but I found some beta readers on the Toshiba page we:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/home.jsp

Maybe you will find some Win 7 drivers for series L500/505

Otherwise I would recommend you to check if you can activate the WLan in Device Manager-> properties-> Advanced tab Wlan card

There are a few additional options, that maybe the WiFi we / off would be there also.

I have to shut down the computer (which is hard to do because I can almost see the cursor on the display dark) only if I start the computer on battery power, then, the display appears bright. If I start connected to 220 V adapter will start the gray screen.

    Hello

With the help of Toshiba, you will find shortcuts to installed applications.
I put t know why you cannot start the energy saver, but first, you need to check if the Toshiba power saver is installed correctly in the Add & Remove software
If you cannot start the energy saver of Toshiba that I recommend to reinstall the app and after again restart try again to install energy-saving.
You can configure the mode of power supply for use AC adapter.

  • Graphic shortcut keys

I am looking for the location of the graphic buttons (images as you press the volume controls, FN keys). I'll try to replace them with my own images, but I have no idea where I can find them on my computer? I have IdeaPad Y530 Windows 7 64 bit. Thank you in advance for the answers. Sorry for my English.

all the images needed are in the executable file (c:\program files\lenovo\energy management\open energymmanagement.exe)

to view or edit, you can use resource hacker (this is an older application & use since 2003, simple but useful)

    http://img693.imageshack.us/img693/7020/SCCX.PNG

After the replacement of your personal image, application may stop working. If this happens, re-install the power management or the backup file.

  • Power management disappeared!

Each of my patterns of power in the family XP Edition version disappeared and I want to know how to restore/create/together again. I have a laptop and move a portable system when it is on special diets battery when it is connected to the House, but I did not do anything to justify the total disappearance of the power management. I am very confused!

First, go to start-> all programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore and create a restore point before you follow the procedure described below.

Now, go to start-> run and type regedit.exe in the Open box. Click OK.
In the registry editor, click on the + sign in the pane on the left to navigate to the following location.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies

Under this registry key, you should see 6 subkeys numbered 0 to 5. It comes supplied with XP default power management. The subkeys numbered from 6 or more represent patterns of power created by the user. If you find any numbered 6 or more, right-click on them and select delete from the menu. Ultimately, that you must have the subkeys numbered 0 to 5 remaining under the PowerPolicies registry key.

Do the same for this registry key.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls Folder\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies
