No repeaters between Cisco Aironet 1250 and equipment cisco config

Hi all

Company moves to a new site and I need to improve wireless coverage.

We currently only AP 1252 providing wireless throughout the office. As we produce and sell our own wireless equipment, I was wondering if it is possible to use company equipment to improve coverage.

I was considering deploying the 1252 in a location central and 2 repeaters in the four corners.

Any suggestion is welcome.

See you soon,.

Fabio

Repeater mode is owner for each company... Cisco devices can associate with other Cisco Repeater not Cisco No...

You can use any device cisco to expand coverage... the best feature is a pair of 1310 bridge or bridge of 1410 in long distance... or, you can go for 1252 with an another 1252 if the distance is less.

Let me know if that answers your question...

  • 4 Aironet 1250 and a controller?

    Hi guys,.

I'm about to order a four Aironet 1250 and a Wireless LAN Controller 2106. What I've read, I'm going to need the controller to manage access points if I want that they offer the same broadcast domain and subnet and offer roaming for users. Often times what I have read and understand it turns so little to do with reality, so my question is, do I right about that?

    Thanks in advance!

    Joe

    Hey Joe,

210 x WLC doesnot support mode of transport Layer 2... support mode is the Layer 3. Yes, we can have the APs in the same field of dissemination that is, APs and WLC management and Manager of the AP in the same subnet works and it uses IP header instead of the Ethernet frame.

We can connect the access points and clients can roam between. We need to ensure what WLC software takes care of 1252 and use the same or later.

  • Problem with VLAN between Cisco Catalyst (3560G) and SG300-52

I am having trouble with the creation of a trunk of vlan between a SG300-52 and a Cisco Catalyst 3560 G.  I have 4 VLANS (1, 2, 10 and 11) on the 3650 and I need ports on the SG300 to be able to communicate with them.

On the 3560, port 14 is defined as:

    interface GigabitEthernet0/14

    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

    switchport mode trunk

    spanning tree portfast

On the Sg300 port 52 is defined as:

    interface GigabitEthernet52

point to point link type spanningtree

switchport trunk allowed vlan add 1,2,10,11

    description macro switch

Try to understand what the problem... Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Chris

Hi Chris, the first problem is the spanning tree portfast, it shouldn't be on an interconnection network switch. You may have a mismatch of vlan native as well, but that shouldn't matter.

A suggestion, however, the value of the port SG300 general mode and disable the input filter.

  • difference between cisco NAC agent and cisco Clean Access Agent

    Hi all

If anyone has the idea on different between cisco NAC agent and cisco Clean Access Agent, please let us know your ideas.

    Thank you

In 4.6, the agent has been revised and is now called the NAC agent.  Previous versions were called the clean access Agent.  So roughly, 4.5 and 4.1.3.2 agent are own access agents, and agents 4.6.x and 4.7.x are called NAC agents.

Some of the changes are moving a lot of the agent configuration in an XML file, redesign of the GUI, adding a service portion (of the sort that the agent of heel is no longer necessary) and the best journaling agent.

  • Basic questions of configuration Cisco Aironet 1250

    Hello

I'll be three Aironet 1250 within a building.  It won't be a wireless controller, the AP will be autonomous.  I'll put them all the same thing, with WPA2 wireless encryption.  My question is, what is important and beneficial to add the configuration to the s AP so that they are aware of the other (for roaming maybe)?  If Yes, what is this technology called and someone could direct me to a section of a guide that could illustrate this?

Or I'm fine with just stand-alone configuration 3 AP as it is.

    All other pointers are welcome.

    Thank you!

    Hello

If you use the pre-shared as an authentication method, so there is nothing special to do. As long as they have the same SSID, are in the same subnet and are connected to the same network, roaming will be fine.

    No specific configuration is required.

Mattew, obvious lack of education is the rule exempt from nat for your tunnel, your access list pixtosw is similar on this example, I assume that you have gone through this link, if it does not see the configs on both sides.

  • IKE Dead Peer Detection between Cisco ASA and Cisco PIX

I have a network environment in Star with about 30 offices of satellite remote using VPN Site to Site connectivity.  The majority of remote satellite offices have the features of Cisco PIX 501 running PIX Version 6.3.  The hub office runs a version 8.2 (1) Cisco ASA.

I configured Dead Peer Detection on the Cisco ASA device at the office hub with the default settings of the following-

    Confidence interval - 10 seconds

    Retry interval - 2 seconds

I think I'm right assuming that raises are limited to 3 before the tunnel is completely demolished.  Basically, the problem that I am facing is with several remote satellite offices.  What seems to be the case, the tunnel between the remote offices and the hub is demolished (probably because of the length of IKE, always 86400 seconds) and the tunnel then fails to renegotiate unless traffic is physically forced from the hub office.  The tunnel NOT to renegotiate after satellite office, ONLY the end of the hub; so that means sending traffic to the satellite when the VPN tunnel is out of service, not to renegotiate the tunnel.  The Hub office is a colo and therefore traffic rarely comes to that end, the tunnel remains so down until manual intervention occurs and the ICMP traffic is forced into the tunnel.

Should the KeepAlive and retry interval settings corresponds to both ends, for example if the two devices be configured for DPD?

What are the potential pitfalls to the extension of the life of IKE, and this will help or even hinder the problem?

Thank you in advance for helping out with this.

    Hi Nicolas,.

I think that the two DPD settings must match on both ends, if these do not match then problems like yours might arise which seems to happen here, is that one end shows a tunnel down, but the other end may not detect it down, we could have to watch debugs, or record two ends to see if this is the case , setting in the meantime ike DPD for same timers could hetlp on.

In regard to the increase in the life expectancy of IKE, well you just need to be aware that this could allow keys to be discovered since these are not renegotiated unless the tunnel is down on the level of IKE. Other than that I don't see why this would affect you.

  • Aironet 1200 and MAC authentication

    Hi all

I Aironet 1210 and you want to implement the authentication MAC without ACS.

Now, I know that any AP Aironet can allow authentication MAC se store the list of MAC addresses.

    So after the command:

    TestAP (config-if-ssid) #authentication open mac

TestAP (config-if-ssid) #authentication open mac address?

WORD mac address list (1-31 characters) name

There is no way I can list all MAC addresses in the list. I use IOS Version 12.2 (13) JA3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Samuel Wilson

If you do not have a RADIUS server on your network, you can create a list of MAC addresses allowed on advanced security of access point: MAC address authentication page. Devices with not on the list of MAC addresses are not allowed to authenticate.

I use the GUI to make a list:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/HW/wireless/ps4570/products_configuration_example09186a00801c0912.shtml

The link above is to use the local capacity of GANYMEDE to the AP, but if you select the option "Advanced Security" on the right side of the web interface, it will take you to the page where you can create your list of mac addresses.

  • What is the difference between the service SmartNet and SMB level

    Good afternoon

I would like to ask if what is the difference between Cisco SmartNet and Cisco SMB service level?

    Thank you

    Hey Rey,

SMARtnet covers traditional Cisco products (products of the company IE.) ISR routers), Small Business Support Center covers the line of small business.

In the Group of the UC products, for some reason, Cisco believes the UC520, AP521, and WLC526, which are small business to be traditional Cisco products and brand SMARTnet are covered. But, the UC540 and the UC560 are covered by HWC. A major difference in the area of the CPU is the support for CLI vs CCA config.

However, I noticed your message in small business - class switches. If you have a switch of small business people who are covered by HWC not TAC. HWC will support the CLI and web gui configuration of switches in small businesses, where the CLI is applicable to the model.

HWC contracts tend to be 3-year periods and can be significantly cheaper than SMARTnet agreements.

    Hope that helps.

    Best,

    David

  • Communication between the device IDS and router test

I use a 4210 sensor, S47 Version 4.0 (2). I'm waiting on the upgrade memory provided under the contract until I can update above.

Is there a way to test telnet between the detection device and the router? Stop ping at the firewall (we allow all ICMP traffic). I can't find a command 'telnet'.

    Thank you!

You must create a service account configuration mode (conf t) then:

    user service private service pass

Sign out then as cisco, then reconnect you as a service. Telnet now works

  • Is it possible to send an alert through TMS when a crossing box fails between a VCS - C and VCS-E?

    Hi all

TMS has many features to alert, but I don't see an easy way to alert us to the fact that a crossing area may have failed between a VCS - C and VCS - E, or even neighbor or other types of areas than peers with other devices. Is this possible?

As we now have a large number of VCS, it is important for us to know that these peering is active. It is not necessarily the case that individual machines become inaccessible, just the interconnection network fails for some reason any.

    Thank you very much

    Chris

As much as I know tms cannot do that, she must be a feature request.

    Hello

    Main differences are:

    • Up to 12 hours of battery life with Powerbeats3, which use chips to W1 Apple energy-efficient (vs. up to 6 hours of battery life with Powerbeats2).
    • A quick charge of 5 minutes for a typical use of an hour (vs 15 minutes to load).

    • When having only 1 window open and opening tabs behaves normally.
    • However, when you open a new window of the space between the bookmarks (top) and tabs (bottom) spans all windows. Its boring.

So far only challenge is to just close and open 1 single window, or to use the module 'Classic theme restaurateur' and switch the tabs position from the bottom to the top, but all new windows will open the gap again.

    Image below.

Unfortunately, none of these options works, so far, use 'CTR' and turn the legs up (default) allows the opening of new windows without gaps.
Seems to be some sort of bug recently showing on CTR.

You will need to find a way to contact the developer to let them know.

EDIT: It seems to be resolved, seems a new version was released and the problem disappeared. Thank you very much for the help.
