No restart or shutdown Sierra

I upgraded my MBP (mid-2015) to Sierra yesterday and now its not shut down or restart properly. Its get stuck on the black screen with nothing on it (not even a cursor). The display lights stays ON but nothing really from there, I even left there like that for more than 20 minutes. I Force shutdown by pressing the power button / stop for a few seconds.

Step 1. Reset a SMC; Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support

Step 2. Reset the PRAM but keep P-R-Opt-Cmd when you start. The MBP sounds once again, how you can release the keys.

Step 3. make a start by holding down the SHIFT key until you see the progress bar. Once you get to the login screen, you will see "Safe Boot" in red next to the clock.

Step 4. Reboot again and log in normally.

I can't restart, shutdown or logoff from my computer. When tried my firewall asks me to allow or deny the logonui to run & if I allow or refuse nothing happens. I appreciate any help or advice, thank you.

    Hello

I suggest that you uninstall the program and check if the problem persists.

If the issue is not persistent, then reinstall the program in redownloading on the program vendor's site and check if that helps.

  • Windows 8 restarts after shutdown

I have a new computer I7 with Windows 8, and after two weeks of work very well now it reboots after I stopped it.   I have read many of the posts, but they seem to be for the installation of Windows 8 on Windows 7.  My computer never saw Windows 7.   This doesn't seem to be a common problem.  The only software I have loaded in addition to own Windows products are ESET (anti-virus), Adobe Lightroom 4, Google Chrome and GSAK (a database for geocaching).   Any thoughts on what could cause this or what I need to do to fix?

I had the same problem when I select "Shut down" in the "Power" menu, it restarts in fact instead of power. After that, when I connect, it gives me an error message "send / do not sent" who says that my computer has encountered a problem when stopping down and it restarted.
But the Solution obtained by following these simple steps of 5:

    1. If you are on the new screen startup, power supply , and Windows will automatically search for the term and will show you the results.

If you are on the desktop, move your cursor to the top right of the screen to access the new Charms Bar. Now, click on the option Search and the power of type in the search box.

    2. now click on parameters of link given in law-bar side of search page results and then click on the link ' change this power buttons " given in the search results.

    3. it will open Power Options window. You can also open the same window by typing powercfg.cpl in the dialog box RUN and press enter and then click on the link ' choose what buttons power ' in the left sidebar.

Now go down to bottom and you will see "Turn the quick start (recommended)" option in the settings to stop section.

4 turn off the option by unchecking the check box, and then click the "Save Changes" button.

PS: If the option is not shown or grayed out, scroll to the top and click on the link "Change settings that are currently unavailable" .

    5. it's her. Now all sweetness and light. No reboot and no message "recover from a mistake. Restart your system and your reboot or shutdown problems should get fixed in Windows 8.

Did you check if all devices are properly installed in Device Manager? Check for exclamation marks Device Manager yellow and if there are some unknown devices.

Also try to disable wake up on LAN and keyboard as Akuma has suggested.

  • Satellite Pro P300 - 05 X restarts after shutdown

    Hi all

I've owned my laptop (Satellite P300/05 X, processor P8600 (2.4 GHz), 17 "display) now for 1 week and I was very frustrated with this problem, I will explain.

After you have selected the option "Stop" (not 'sleep', not 'Hibernate' etc, but certainly 'closed'), the laptop goes through the steps of closing and then turn off all the lights on the keys of the finger, and then the led of the main switch turns off. And then for no apparent reason, Notepad starts again as as if I pressed the switch on! This morning was the worst, I went through the steps of closing 3 times! before he spent actually OFF... very frustrating, especially if you're in a hurry.

Also, I noticed sometimes the led of the main switch does not at all off, all other lights are, however, but not the main switch... and then all of a sudden, the machine comes to life!

Now, this problem is very random and happens not all the time. On average it restarts automatically, say 1 out of 7 times (except this morning!).

As I said, this machine is very recent. It has Vista Business and I installed only a handful of programs (Eclipse/Java, MySQL... that's a bit). And I'm sure that this is not a virus or malware. In addition, I have not changed the BIOS settings.
But I have disabled all the power options in the control panel (in other words, 'never' disable disk hard etc etc).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks a lot guys...

Have you connected external devices of the laptop as printer, external HARD drive and so far?
Interrupt them because that might cause the problem.

Make sure you have wake on LAN in the BIOS and disabled Windows and you should also disconnect cable LAN and other cables.

Check this box and try also to update the BIOS.

    Guy

I have the Satellite pro M10 (Win XP, SP2) & I'm having a problem when plugging to the bottom of the laptop, XP restarts after a blue screen. I followed the steps in the microsoft

  • Satellite Pro L300D-138 restarts on shutdown

    Hello

I recently bought a Satellite Pro L300D-138, and I also got one for my parents. Almost every time that I stopped it, it restarts automatically. I think it happens when there are updates that are installed, but I think it could happen even if it is not updated. I don't get messages that say, 'news updates, restart necessary.' or whatever it is. I thought also restarts of updates required as such, but that shut down the computer and then turn it on again tomorrow, or anything that would complement the updates. Maybe I'm wrong... ? Y at - it somewhere I want to wait for new update/restart applications?
It's not a big deal, really, it's just a bit of a pain in the @55 to return the laptop to close again a few minutes after turned it off, it... I am making sense? I feel I am repeating myself! :)

This happens also with the laptop I got for my parents, so I assume it's a Toshiba, or something new computer thing, I just want to know if I can make him stop or if I have to put aside 10 minutes to close the bottom!
    Cheers for any help!

    Ailbhe

    Checkbox rdi posted.

Also make sure that if this happens only if there are no updates to update will be installed because it might be the reason for the restart.

  • Windows 7 poster waiting for the host window for spot on the restart or shutdown

Every time I have shut down or restart my computer, I get a screen that says "Waiting for task host window" I tried to clean the registry, I did a chkdsk, I ran sfc/scannow several times now and this issue will not go away.  I am running Windows 7 64-bit with 4 GB of ram. I also tried to apply the patch, but I always get "this update is not applicable to your computer."

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question on the forum of the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

    1. have you done any hardware or software changes to your computer recently?
    2. What is the brand and model of your computer?

'The Taskhost' is a generic process, which acts as a host for the processes that run "DLLs" rather than "Exe". Starts, it checks the registry services part to build a list of the DLL-based services it needs to load, then load them.

I suggest you try using the steps in this Microsoft support article and check if it helps.

  • X 61 restarts on shutdown when Western Digital "My Book World Edition" is online.

I recently installed a My Book World Edition (White Light) 1 TB drive on my network home. Three out of the four computers on the network have no problem with the drive. These three include two Windows XP computers running Norton Internet Security 2009 which can be found on the cable part of the network. The third computer running Windows Vista Home Edition (32 bit) and Norton 360 on the part the network wireless.

My fourth computer is one that has the problem. It's a Lenovo X 61 IBM ThinkPad Tablet PC under Windows Vista Ultimate (32 bit) and Norton Internet Security 2009 (in addition, please note that one of the user of the laptop has enabled the BitLocker encryption). Whenever the drive My Book World Edition is online on the network, the ThinkPad doesn't stop correctly. Instead, the computer automatically restarts with an error message saying that it stop unexpectedly.

I did a broad diagnosis of the problem. There is no problem at all if the MIMBOE drive is not on the network, and first of all, the problem occurred when I installed the drive. If I disable "SSDP Discovery" service with "msconfig", then the problem goes away. I temporarily replaced the SSDPSRV. DLL (the "SSDP Discovery" Service Manager) file on my computer with the same file from the Vista computer work, but there was no change, if the file is not corrupted. I disabled all services that depend on the service 'SSDP Discovery', but the problem occurred again until 'SSDP Discovery' has been enabled.

Help, please. Currently, I have to wait about 20 minutes for my computer to give up trying to stop before I can turn it off. (I can usually managed to close properly if, after it restarts spontaneously, I can't connect and I quickly select "Shut Down" from the login screen before completing the startup completely.)

Solved.  It seems that the Western Digital driver blocking going to pull apart the My Book World Edition when Windows is shut down.  I don't know why things work correctly on Windows 7 Ultimate computer cable, but repeatedly crashes on my laptop using Wifi.

I wiped and reloaded 7 before I was certain that the discovery software is at fault.  You can manually mount the NAS without installing discovery, which is probably the best option, but in my case, I didn't want to reinstall a 3rd time.

Looking at the driver files loaded for the WDMBWE in the Device Manager, you will see on called WDMBW_1NC.dll which is located in C:\windows\system32.  This is the only file in the list that is specific to the NAS.  I made a backup of the file to the desktop, then renamed the .dll in .bak file.

Grip closure have been eliminated.  I am still able to access the drive using the standard address:

    \\192.168.1.101\ in windows Explorer.

  • Satellite Pro U400-130 - restarts after shutdown down

    Hello

I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro U400-130. The operating system is Windows Vista 32 bit.

I have a problem when I try to quit the Menu Start-Shut Down laptop. The system will reboot after that. Then if I select closes without connecting to my account, it really stops.

Please, could you help me with this?

It's a little confusing because you said if I select shut down without logging in to my account, it really stops.
    Say you stop without connection?

However, I think you make a mistake.
Make sure you have all the Service Packs and hotfixes installed for Vista.

Maybe the button closure is misconfigured. The default action is sleep. To verify this action. Open a command prompt and enter
    Powercfg.cpl, 1
There you can change the action of power button in the start menu.

Edit: Hope I am speaking not to soon but seems I solved my problem.  After reading the many threads on any issues I came to the conclusion that the "fault" to the motherboard.   stop (forced), removed from PC power, removed the CMOS battery and reset the CMOS by a short link for 10-15 seconds.  Link standard, battery etc and after reboot can now close PC. !!

  • Pavilion 17-F001dx: my laptop backlight is something really weird + hang on restart/shutdown

This laptop is by far (on paper) more powerful than my previous E1 AMD processor powered notebook; but since I got it (it is refurbished, but in the warantey of 90 days as I've had it less than 2 weeks) it was much less responsive than my laptop prior. I get weird popups as follows:

And even the tabs in internet explore crashing and reloading for the basic sites like the google home page.

Every time I restart there are several applications, I've never seen on my laptop prior "prevents me to restart"; including just a file Explorer window and there are always abnormally slow restart and shutdown. He also takes his sweet time of mode "Eve".

And earlier, my screen faded very bright and blinking then black a few times. For now, I fixed it to the maximum brightness and it looks like a medium brightness. It is after the restart after this strange behavior out of the blue backlight.
