Hello MuhammadUmer,

Thanks for your post.  Is this a recent problem?  Also, do you know of any software that may have caused this problem?  You can try a System Restore to a point in time when this problem did not exist so that you can return the functionality of the Start button.

See you soon

When you try to save an image from a web page using FF27, I am not able to get this working using the option in the context menu. It is a very recent change. Problem occurs on a computer desktop and laptop running Windows 7.

I searched using Google with no help is found. Is there a way to save the image if I use the Picture Info option in the context menu if something goes wrong.

It must have been some changes in FF27 or 27.01 the addon of problem being that I have used for a time very long. Addon is PhotoMe which is a program and there is an option to install as an add-on.

Disappointedly, I removed it from both PC and Firefox will now save the Image using the context menu.

    Thanks again for your help.

  • I need to disable the 'Help' option in the main menu.

I am running Public Fox 1.09 as an addition in our school district, because it allows me to keep the students from our proxy. They discovered that all that they have to go to 'Help' and 'restart with disabled modules. They can then select "Not of Proxy" and get anywhere that they want. I need to disable the 'Help' option in the main menu.

Hello NeonLeon, if it would be possible in principle to hide some menu entries, the next thing that your students will discover is that you can also get in safe mode by pressing the SHIFT key while launching firefox, so it's no solution...

You can use a mozilla.cfg file in the firefox program folder (where the students hopefully will have no write access) to lock some preferences as the configuration of your proxy, for more information, see: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences

  • Disabling the options on the view menu

Everything has this problem?... Can Extras be disabled permanently more?

Whenever I open a photoshop file, the "Extras" are ALWAYS selected. In older versions of PS, this KEPT once you have selected it.

I create hundreds of web banners every few months, and every time I open a document I have to remember to deselect the OPTIONS in the menu. Not only that, I have to keep it clear while alternating between the layers for a reason any. I don't like because when 'Extras' is checked, by selecting another layer with an object in the immediate vicinity of the layer active becomes almost impossible, moreover, the handles of the frame object always show and give the impression that you have selected the transformation tool that I always waiting. And I don't need a dazzling show of x and is coordinated to divert attention from the task at hand... PS adds overkill when all you want to do is to SELECT and MOVE an object a few pixels.

It seems with more versions of the CC PS, they create a monolith of options to complicate simple tasks... photo with shift PRNDL of your vehicle with a half dozen of subsets with 3 you have not selected by default whenever you drive your car or your headlight Switch with eight functions with four of them ALWAYS default when one is enough.

I don't need 1 million options to speed up my work... its actually me slow down considerably by the selection/deselection of constantly having to turn off "Extras."

Just below 'Extras' on the view menu, there are «...» Show", where you can check/uncheck the individual elements - permanently.

CTRL + H (extras) is just a bucket collect them all and then turns off with a single shortcut.

Do a clean reinstall and remove the Firefox program before (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.

    • Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.

Remove the Firefox program before installation newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but make sure that 'delete personal data' is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

If you keep problems also create a new profile.

  • Any equipment option in the start menu on Tecra A8

I have a new Tecra A8 which is awesome. I have a docking station for which I have connected to a screen more grand, printer and al. What I don't have is a fitting option in my Start menu. I log off and closed, but no way to disconnect without shutting down my system. When I place the laptop in docking station I have to reset my graphics options every time which is a little annoying. Are there any drivers or anything else I need to download?

    Thank you.

    Hello John

Nice to hear that Tecra A8 is awesome! I use Tecra laptops for my business and I think Tecra A8 will be my next unit.

Back to your question: I hope you use your Tecra with last AdvPortRepIII +. Each Toshiba laptop with a capacity preinstalled tool called Toshiba Mobile Extension (I also on my older Tecra M2). When the laptop is on docking station near Log off and closed the buttons, there should be also Undock button of the computer that allows hot or warm connection and optional docking device disconnection.

Please check in Control Panel if you can find Toshiba Mobile Extension tool. The same shortcut, you can also find in Toshiba Assist Utility tab OPTIMIZES. This utility allows you to select which device to default view that you want to use when Tecra is docked.

As I said Toshiba Mobile Extension must be preinstalled. Do you use factory settings or your own installation of the OS?

    Good bye

  • Article "Desktop" (different from the "Show Desktop") in the Start - Menu accidentally deleted

I accidentally deleted an item in the Start Menu on a Windows Vista-based computer, owned by a friend.   She wants new, BUT - I can't find a way to restore it.  (I can't use system restore - he would like to say again too many other changes since.)

The element called "Desktop".  I have this marking, thinking it was "Show Desktop": but, apparently, it was completely different.  He opened a column with the icons scroll, in alphabetical order of the name, all display on the desktop.  It wasn't a normal Windows Explorer view - more like all the right-hand panel of the window of Windows Explorer, restricetd on width of an icon.

My friend has found very useful (indeed, I would like to have on all the computers I work with).  I would be extremely grateful if someone could tell me how to get it back.

    Joe Grant

I know of a menu "desktop" like that, but it is on the taskbar.

to access, right-click on the icon in the start menu or an empty area of the taskbar, and then choose Properties. Click on the Toolbars tab. check the box next to "Desktop". Click on apply. Is that what you meant?

  • Add the "Print Directory Listing" option to the context menu of Windows Explorer

Get the error message when you try to use the "Print Directory Listing" solution found in:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321379/en-us on my new Windows 7 system (from February 2010).

Could create the context menu of Windows Explorer for the task, but selecting just results in the following error message:

"This file doesn't have an associatd with her program to perform this action. Please install a program or... to create an association in the default programs control panel. »

Wentback and checked my Regedit work.  Even deleted the new key and she recreated (just in case.)

NOTE: I had successfully used the instructions in this article to add "Print Directory Listing features on Windows XP systems, so I reviewed these instructions to see differences and noticed that it * no. * 'associate' step for Vista/Win7 in the article, but this step still shown for XP.»

And, there seems to be NO WAY to associate a program (in this case, a ".bat") with all of 'record' as target.  Only choices I see these in the 'control panel default programs ' are'. [extensions] "and the protocols.

    So I'm puzzled.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    SJ Pratt

I just tried this with instructions to the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321379/en-us link you provided and it worked fine.

In view of the error you get here are my assumptions to what may be the problem.  Please try these out and answer:

-Because it denounces, "file doesn't have an associated program.." I would make sure that when you created with Notepad the file .bat you na not to create a file called 'Printdir.bat.txt' or 'Printdir.bat.some_bad_extension '.  If your Windows Explorer settings are set to hide file extensions when you look at a file name, then maybe the REAL file extension you give the command file is being hidden on your part and Windows does not know how to open a file with the extension hidden type.  Make sure that you can see all the file extensions and make sure that the batch file is named with the .bat extension.

-If you see very well all the file extensions in Windows Explorer and your file is called really Printdir.bat, make sure that you have saved in your root directory of Windows.  If you access %windir% you see Printdir.bat inside there?  If this isn't the case, put it there.  If you do, when you double-click the .bat file Windows run without error and print the dir?  If it works, you know that the batch file works correctly.

-There's a typing error in the instructions for Vista/Windows 7, check that your registry entries look like this:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\Print directory Listing\command

This shows the new key under shell called "Print Directory Listing" and inside this key/folder another folder/key named "command".

To within the key/folder 'command', it takes only one entrance with the name of (by default).  Double-click (default) and make sure that its value data is set to:

    Printdir.bat %1

-You shouldn't need step "the associate" in Windows 7.

-You can add "Add Print Directory Listing to the context menu of Windows Explorer" for the title of your question so that others can find it.
