No sound after reformatting and reinstalling Windows XP.

Devices are listed and each said that it works correctly, but the computer does not recognize an audio device.  Can't hear the system sounds and cannot use windows media.  What should I do?  Help, please

The standard answer is: download and install all the drivers on the site of the manufacturer of the web support system, if a system, or from the web site of the manufacturer of the motherboard support.  You want to install all the necessary drivers, updates, tools and software, not only the multimedia device driver.

Do not depend on the wizard windows update or device to obtain the device driver appropriate multimedia as they are known to be wrong.  (Note: they do a remarkable job, however, to a notoriously difficult task!)

If you had described your system it original your post, we could have directed you to the web site of the said supported.  Please read: KB555375 - how to ask a question.

Click Start, type slui 3, press on enter.

This key will not work. You must use one on the certificate of authenticity.

    Option 1:

If the COA sticker is damaged, you must use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7, it will be exempt from the need to use the product key to activate your installation of Windows 7.

    Option 2:

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling. This will exempt the need to also use the product key.

    Option 3:

If neither options 1 or 2 is possible, then you will need to invest in a new license of full version of detail.

  • Load a Windows rescue disk the same as reformatting and reinstalling Windows?

    Win32/Ramnit.z and fitness.

Hi, once you've found the Win32/Ramnit.z on one of our computers/cash registers I need to reformat and load the operating system on. A cam XP rescue & recovery disc with the computer and I was wondering if this drive will do the same work as the reformatting.

    Hello

A recovery disk contains tools and information that can be used to 'recover' your system using the information stored on your hard drive. This 'information' could be the I386 folder, this could be a hidden restore partition, or it could be something else entirely. The key is that the recovery disc uses a lot of information on your hard drive.

An installation disc contains the software to install. A Windows installation disk contains a copy of Windows that is copied from the disk and installed on the hard drive of your computer. There is not need additional tools or information already exists on the hard drive.

Given that your hardware has a unique identifier captured by the activation process, you should not consume additional licenses whenever you reinstall. Andre Da Costa http://adacosta.spaces.live.com http://www.activewin.com

This could be to uninstall because it used entirely from the control panel of Windows 7.  Can anyone help?

Uninstall what you can the normal way via the Control Panel, and then use the CS cleanup tool.  Then try to reinstall. You might want to try an installation download rather than the disc if it continues to fail.

can someone tell me how to solve this problem?

The forum "Installation, upgrade and activate" might be appropriate, but for that you are

Here, to give a full description of the "corruption" that you have to reinstall Windows.

Simply reinstall Windows cannot treat the source of your problem in the long term.

-A reinstall "Repair" is a less painful method of fixing problems with Windows and registers a

a lot of time vs. a complete reformat.

You can try this method before resorting to a complete reformat of Windows installation.

Repair installation - Forums of Windows 7

-I've never needed to do a complete reinstall of Windows 7 and can not remember if Win7 allows you to install

the disc then you are logged into Windows, but--

(like XP)-you can not reformat the drive on which Windows is installed while connected to Windows.

Creating a new partition of your disk in Windows, is not always possible, so that also requires a reformat of the HARD drive, which is done during the installation of Windows from disk.

To reinstall from the disc you must first install the BIOS to boot from the CD if your machine

does not start automatically in your current Windows installation.

While the installation process is fairly easy, and the guests are not hard to follow, you

study an installation guide for Windows to get a better idea of what you're in for.

    MS Win7 installation guide .

    Other-

BTW - you need to download the drivers for your graphcis card and your card drivers motherboard "chipset"

the Mfg of your components or PC before reinstalling if you can have them on site after

    relocation of.
