No sound from my desktop Windows 7

I have no sound from my desktop computer. I have Windows 7. I ran the diagnostics and the only message I got is that my speakers are not connected. They are permanently connected, so it was not helpful. I have the latest drivers and my sound card is ok. I disconnected and reconnected my speakers and restarted the computer, but still have no sound. I have no connected devices. I don't know what to do.

Dick

You had your configuration changed default value of speakers...

  1. Beginning
  2. Control Panel
  3. Material and audio
  4. Change system sounds
  5. Sounds tab
  6. In the sounds drop-down box model, make sure Windows default is selected

You need to run a separate cable for audio.

See the following Note of http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Connect-your-computer-to-a-TV

Cables VGA, DVI and component video don't support audio signals. However, HDMI cables are supported, but not all, audio signals compatible HDMI video audio support cards. If your TV has an audio input, you might be able to connect an audio cable separate from their computer directly to the TV card. Otherwise, you need to connect the audio signal to a different device, such as external speakers or your stereo. For more information about sound cards, see sound cards: frequently asked questions.

  • No sound from HP - 8560p, windows 7 64 bit elitebook docking station

I was issued a laptop Elitebook 8560p for use with a 90 W HP Docking station at work.  When the laptop is plugged into the docking station, the port ' audio out ' of the docking station does not work.  The sound continues to come out of the computer laptop speakers, or, if I plug the headphones into the headphone for laptop, it comes out of the helmet.  Plug the headphones into the Docking Station does not all the sounds (either of the two audio ports - in or out).  When the laptop is plugged into the docking station, no additional reading device does appear in the audio menu - just an output HDMI AMD (disabled) and speakers (activated).

The speakers/headphones on the laptop works fine, the problem is just that the docking station is in no way "replica" or the audio output support and it's as if the port of the enclosure of the dock just weren't there.  So, I could use my headset by plugging directly to the laptop, but this really seems to defeat the whole concept of a docking station.  All other ports (video, usb) seem to work on the docking station.

    I am running Windows 7, 64-bit.

I reinstalled the sound driver (for laptop) so that the laptop was plugged into the dock.  That did the trick.

Hey! Click Start, and then click Notepad. I don't know if you can find the info you had on this subject. I just tested it, and I typed in her salvation... then clicked on the desktop, then click the X button in the note and I opened it again to the top and he wasn't there... You can pin the sticky notes to the taskbar, typing sticky notes in the start menu by dragging and dropping on the taskbar. Hope this helps

  • No its remote desktop Windows 7

    Ideas:

    • I use Windows 7 Professional on two computers (a laptop & one Office). When I remotely on the laptop to activate Office, after activating his "playing on this computer", I have no sound from the desktop computer remotely.
    • I checked the desktop remotely and sounds locally works. I noticed that when on the remote, the sound goes to "Audio remote" on the desktop that is mounted up and can not find other settings.
Also have tried the opposite i.e. make remote desktop PC access computer laptop PC with just the same problem, no sound!
Let me say that both computers turned before XP and office remotely with the sound is OK. No computer had any material change (except the RAM upgrade) before or after the installation of Windows 7 Professional.
Tried remote desktop with another laptop PC under XP with the same result as everything works except the sound.
Also tried with two other computers, one running XP and the host on Windows 7 with the same result!
All actions on a local network.
      Any help would be appreciated.

  • Desktop PC: cannot hear any sound from my computer

My sound does not work in Windows 10. No sound at all from YouTube videos, music and media players, Windows system sounds, etc.

Have you tried a few different devices (headphones/speakers)? There could be a problem with the hardware with one of these devices. Also, keep in mind that most of the computers do not have built-in speakers, you don't need to have a connected device to hear anything.

If you have already tried a few different pairs of headphones and speakers, the first step in troubleshooting I recommend is the easiest: restart your computer. Sometimes a single application can take control of your audio device and do not let all the other apps use, but you can release this control by restarting.

Here are a few others not you can try:

    • Run the audio troubleshooting tool in Windows
    • Make sure that your device is connected to the appropriate port on the computer, and if you use powered make speakers you they are plugged into a working outlet
    • Set the default audio device to make sure that your computer sends the audio output of the device
    • If your computer comes with 10 Windows installed, you can restore the driver of its origin in the HP Recovery Manager, or to update the driver through Device Manager
    • If you upgraded your computer to Windows 10, you can update the audio driver in Device Manager

These solutions and much more are explained in detail in this document: HP-no sound from the computer desktop.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en&docName=c01884922

Check if the speakers are working correctly in Device Manager.

To do this, follow these steps:

    a. on the desktop, press the Windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc and press enter to open the Device Manager.

    b. develop sound video and game controllers and right click on the driver.

    c. select Properties , and then check to see if the device works properly under Device Status.

Is there a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside, then it indicates that there are some problems with it.

  • No sound from windows media player

    Original title: windows media player

I have windows vista and have lost somehow all of a sudden the sound on my windows media player. I get sound from the internet, but not my dvd player. We have nothing to do with the sound card. Movies play the video, but there is no sound on everything I put in the drive. How can I get my sound back.

Hello, I may have a solution.

Is not not a Vista user, but I should think of Vista and 7 are relatively the same language.

About the time in the lower right corner, to the left of which should have a "speaker" icon.

Either by right-clicking on the icon and "Open Volume Mixer"

There are volume controls in all your active programs.

Find the program in which may be one that is silent, reactivate the sound, and you can select the desired volume.
