No sound from new XPS one 27 - feel that it must be user error!

Can anyone help?  I bought my new Dell last month and it's a great machine.  However, I noticed this week that he not there no sounds coming from him, but I use it to watch DVDs, listen to music etc no problem at all.  As far as I can tell nothing has changed and my suspicion is user error, I managed to mute the speakers.  However, I tried a few things.

(1) verified that the speakers are not silent - by clicking on the lower right and the volume control and making sure mute is not clicked.

(2) I checked the sound setup in device - no error Manager.

(3) I even clicked on the sound settings and there is a two speakers and the other being Realtek Digital Output.  It's actually the speakers that are checked, although I have no speakers - but I also tried the Realtek Digital Output default setting.

(4) I tried the sound tool from Microsoft that is displayed when you follow the Dell support pages regarding sound.

As I say, I'm sure that someone in the family did something to turn off all sound but I don't know where to look next?  I have not tried drivers etc as a new machine, and we were all working well.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Rebooted machine - which I had already tried and this time everything works great... very strange

  • Why my new Aspire one 7 "Tablet B1-730HD must be manually connected to wifi after does not turn off?

When I stopped my tablet, I have to manually reconnect to the wifi. It does not "sleep", or at any other time, and apart from that it appears to be a stable wifi. I only have this tablet since Christmas, and it wasn't the case when I had first, suggesting that maybe it's the result of an application being installed, or an update? ..... I've tried forgetting the connection, restarting the Tablet, re-login etc, but nothing seems to solve this problem. Can someone please shed some light on this? Thank you.

You can try a factory reset, but you will lose all your personal data, you will need to make a backup first.

    data/backup of the settings reset & reset/factory

normally, even after a stop, it will reconnect automatically when you re - enable WiFi.

do a factory reset, you will remove all the app downloaded, so you can check if it is an update of the system or application that caused the problem.

  • XPS One 27 and Optimus

I just a new XPS One 27 and have discovered that it is configured to use Optimus to switch between graphics cards according to system requirements. While I can see the advantage of this with a laptop in terms of extending their autonomy, I see no benefit with a desktop computer (I realize the configuration is based on a laptop). Did I miss something or it would be reasonable to fix the nVidia card as default value for global - why would I ever use the onboard graphics for what whatsoever, as it is not battery-operated?

    Hi phillevy,

Apart from higher energy consumption, there is no problem using the nVIDIA adapter.

Answer please if you have any other questions. I'd love to help you.

  • New iPhone SE no sound from the speaker of the brand

I just bought a new iPhone SE and I'm getting no sound from the speaker. Does anyone have any ideas on a possible resolution?

I restored from an iPhone 5 to the top, both phones are on the latest version of iOS.

Once the synchronization is complete, I ejected the phone correctly. But there is no sound coming from the speaker:

    • Key "secret" in both positions, no sound from the speaker
    • The top volume, using the volume buttons and the sound, no sound from the speaker settings
    • Headset plugged in, sound comes from the helmet, remove them, the iPhone recognizes, but still no sound
    • I tried the music app, ringtone from another phone, videos, podcast app, no sound from the speaker
    • Past the phone power off & on again, no sound speaker
    • Reset iPhone (hold both buttons down for 10 seconds), no speaker sound
    • Reset iPhone settings, no speaker sound

I begin to suspect it is a hardware problem, but as I am not near the Apple Store, I would try as much as I can before you go this route.

    Thank you

    Hello Andy,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I understand that you have restored your iPhone backup iPhone a precedent, and now there is no sound from the speaker.  Given the troubleshooting you have already done your next step is to restore the factory settings to see if the problem persists:

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings

If the problem persists, then please make an appointment with the Apple Store is close.

What is the best strategy to migrate data from Windows to one Mac to another? I use Parallels Desktop to run Windows on my current Mac but want to use Bootcamp on my new.

If it is only the data (not apps) I use Dropbox. It turned out to be the best way to move things between the side Mac and the bootcamped Windows of my iMac side. I don't see why it would not work to move data from a virtual machine installation of Win to a BootCamp installation.

  • Headset only produce sound from one side

Posted on behalf of a client:

We gathered that the client is running Windows 7 Edition home premium. His speaker system works very well, but he is no longer able to hear the sound from one side of his helmet. We asked that he try it with another game, but the customer doesn't have access to that. Unfortunately the helmet have no guarantee of return is not an option.

If you can think of any errors which could cause which is not the fault of the headphones, please do not hesitate to comment.

    Thank you

    Social media - Gary W.

#2-the headphones themselves might be damaged. You said that it was not another pair to test with.

I'm sure that the wax will not damage a pair of headphones. I deal with a LOT of people who use their phones and have never heard of that happening.

#3-juste looking at him, you can't tell if residents have suffered damage

I'm guessing that he has never worked?

The only other thing to check would be if there is a specific sound software installed on the system that you can adjust the balance between the edge speakers and external separately.

You can get a cheap set of the Atria or at any dollar store.

  • Dell XPS One - sound doesn't work after coming out of sleep

My new DellXPS One audio (office) is not working when I recover mode standby. I got to go to sleep after 10 minutes. When I wake up, the sound does not work. I check all the sound settings, (for example, check if it has been cut), but I don't find anything wrong. The speaker bar shows me that it's playing sound, but nothing's come out of the speakers (internal - I have nothing plugged into the speaker port). This problem can be solved by restarting my computer, but it's irritating if I do it all the time.

    I'm in Windows 8.

    Any ideas?

I found that the solution was the same as what Kelley says above after the support call.

Make sure all audio drivers are loaded and the problem goes away.

  • New XPS 13 (9333) noise Constant

I recently got a new XPS 13 with the new haswell i7, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB ssd and windows 8.1.

I like much this laptop, but it makes a really weird noise. It happens constantly as soon as its power, sound like a high-pitched hum from somewhere under the keyboard. It seems also pretty inconsistent as she sparkles in frequency, and when you use programs (e.g. Navigate Web pages), it gets stronger.

Can someone help me with what the issue is here? Any help appreciated.

So here is my last update to this thread for as long as I can foresee.

Currently, if you are looking to buy a laptop and taking into account the XPS 13, look elsewhere.

I talked about this for 2 weeks now with different members of Dell technical and customer support. Let me Preface no matter what else I say beyond that point by saying that all the world that I spoke was courteous and respectful. I'm not knocking the person I spoke to everyone, but the experience of the customer service that I had always left me frustrated. Let me explain:

My question is more that Dell continues to sell a broken product that they have no solution for, and as far as I know, do not know how to fix\when it will be fixed by. I went through two XPS 13 years last week that both have the problem of whining reel, even after asking specifically to send is not a second 13 XPS without having someone at Dell it check the problem before you send it to me. I ignored, and now I have two laptops, I don't want that I must return.

The thing is, I was ready to forget about all that. Despite the headache so far, I'd give it a go with another XPS 13 as long as she was not the problem. There must be at least ONE XPS 13, which now produces Dell which is not bad, right? Nope. They couldn't even promise that they have one machine do not suffer from problem reel whining. However, they have no problem to continue selling their defective equipment hoping customer does not notice I guess.

Whenever I asked about the status of a solution, I said something warm and fuzzy as ' engineers are working on it, but there is no ETA for a solution. " I can not get a concrete answer to anything. I understand there are some unknowns with any technical problem and that Dell can provide no answer with certainty at 100% on when a fix will be available. However, they gave me no information which reinforces the confidence that the problem is actually in the process of development and that a fix would never be published. When I described all my results of various experiments of troubleshooting and problems symptom, it seemed to be largely ignored as they gave me generic answers that were not really related to the conversation, I was trying to have with Dell. With the exception of one or two of the Tech I spoke too, most individual seemed to just shoot me the phone\chat or didn't really care to help me (and their company) solved the problem. It is not sure at all and does nothing to help me telling me that I should probably buy computers more of.

Dell, this post is a wake up call. Your top-of-the-line laptop is broken, and you continue to sell everything, knowing that you cannot produce a computer laptop today that does not have the problem of lamenting of coil. I practically begged you to take my money and give me a phone works without problems, and you can not do even that. For the love of everyone here and your own, HARDWARE of YOUR DIFFICULTY!

  • 550-215na Pavilion: no sound from the rear audio input jack

    Hello

I recently bought a new PC and I immediately ran into an audio problem that I can't understand. I get no sound at all from the rear audio input jack. I'm getting sound before making, and the plug rear mic works. When I plug something into the rear socket, a message appears grateful that there is something. When I checked the sound settings while it is plugged into the rear outlet, the equalizer is moving, which indicates that he gets his. But nothing comes out when I plug headphones or speakers in. I can exclude a fault with the speakers and the headphones, because they work very well to come forward. All the drivers are up to date.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi there @PrimoFigs,

I hope you find your experience of positive Support Forum! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you get no sound from your speakers when connected to the rear audio ports. I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

Have you tried to connect another device to this port, whether it of a different set of speakers or earphones, headphones just to test if one of them works?

What it is connected to the front port at the same time? If so, then disconnect this device and try again the rear port and let me know if there is a change.

Also try this: desktop HP-no sound on speakers (Windows 8).

Please let me know if any of the work of tip for you suggestions and if we don't solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.
