No sound from Windows media player 12.0.7601.17514

I have an ASUS 64 bit running on Windows 7
Cannot get sound on Windows Media Player. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

3 is the issue limited only to Windows Media Player?

4 is the issue limited only to specific folder or with all files?
