  • No. 5.1 surround sound HDMI

Problem - I don't get that ' "two-channel stereo sound during playback of a DVD (with Dolby) on my computer.  The computer is connected to an audio receiver that is set up for a surround sound.  Audio and video signals are transmitted from the PC via the HDMI 8.Lorsque on the video/tuner card.

    Computer - Compaq SR7510F

Vidéo/Tuner - ATI All in Wonder HD

Connected to Onkyo TX-SR604 through a video/Tuner card HDMI cable.  The Onkyo receiver is connected for 5.1 surround sound speakers.  Video signals are transmitted via the receiver to a flat screen monitor

    Sound - onboard Realtek

According to the specifications for the SR5710F it is supposed to support its 6 speakers.  However the HDMI audio driver only allows me to select "stereo".  It is a select "surround" box, but the box is "grayed out".

When I play the same DVD using a stand-alone DVD by Phillips drive, connected to the Onkyo receiver with the same HDMI cable, I get Dolby on the receiver.  This means that it is not a problem with the receiver, it must have something to do with 1) onboard Realtek sound driver 2) HDMI, or 3) the HDMI connection on the video/tuner card.

I checked on the Web from Realtek site and they list a newer driver for Vista (32 bit), but when I use the Device Manager to update the driver, it is said that it is the most recent.  I don't know that the driver is the problem, so I'm hesitant to try for the heck of it.

I tried the latest drivers Catalyst 9.1 for ATI All in Wonder card, but that didn't help either.

    Any idea?

    Telefunken,

Thanks for the suggestion.  It worked!  There is absolutely no sense to me, nor it does not seem logical to select SPDIF, but I can't argue with success.

I didn't need to buy Arcsoft Media Theater.  I was able to select SPDIF with ATI Catalyst and Microsofts Media Center.  I could get Dolby

In my current setup, I updated ATI Catalyst 9.3 version graphics card and loaded the audio driver Realtek HDMI ATI R2.18.  Also in the BIOS, I put the Audio on 'Auto '.  I chose the HDMI, not the Realtek driver driver in Control Panel.  I chose Dolby and DTS bothy under the driver settings.

Now I think I'll enjoy a Quantum of Solace from this nagging problem is resolved.

  • No sound HDMI on dv6t-1100 CTO

I have a laptop dv6t-1100 CTO Entertainment. When I bought it, it is installed with Windows Vista. Then, I was able to connect it to my home theater HDMI system by simply choosing the HDMI output. Since I upgraded to Windows 7, when I attach the HDMI cable, the image is on the TV, but the sound is still coming through the computer speakers. My sound is IDT HD sound. I opened the settings to change the HDMI Audio output, but only the following choices;  Speakers and headphones double (default), headphones double independent and SPDIF (digital output HP dock screws). I tried to change the default to the last with no difference. I think I have the latest driver installed. Please help, as I want to connect the laptop to my home theater system to run a special program vacation I. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    It worked! Thank you, David.

  • STR-DH520 no sound HDMI

    Hello

I recently bought a STR-DH520 and I'm trying to get audio through HDMI to my P8H77 - I motherboard on my computer, but so far without success.

If I connect the computer directly to my TV or the sound projector is read from this device. If I connect it to the amp I get no sound from the speakers any audio playback device I select on the computer. However, if I select the projector as a device for reading on the computer I hear the projector (for HDMI passthrough works)

I have selected the right speaker configuration and have performed a calibration, so I can check that the speakers are working.

An update, I tried with another computer, still no luck.

  • Vista media units don't center no sound hdmi if

I have a laptop DV7-1130us HP with vista64 home premium on it. Vista works fine no problem with it, so that my problem is that I have a Vizio flat of 32 "Panel which is connected to my laptop via HDMI. My problem is when I play movies through windows media center I have no sound at all. Believe that you are the last person to come to. I spent hours of research on this issue and I can't get the sound to come back. What's funny it's good that I can play the video samples that come with media center and I can hear the sound with no problem what so ever. It is only when I want to play movies that are the DvD rips it is when I don't get any sound. Now, here's another thing I tried that worked, but I don't want half continues to do. What I read in a forum, it's someone said to centre on the laptop boot media, then once it is move media center on the TV and you will hear. Low and behold, I tried that and it works perfectly. I also tried all types of multimedia speaker configuration that did not work as well as to try all the different sound montages on the laptop don't work always so. I also downloaded the codecs for vista64 and those who worked at the same time, but what I've noticed is when some sort of update was pushed back from Microsoft that is when I noticed the problem. There was an update to the center of media (KB960544) report in February of 2009 I have installed March 16 and do not know if that had anything to do with it. So I uninstalled this update last night that did not fix it. So I feel as if it was some sort of update that has corrupted a file prevents the sound media player through the TV. I also regularly played DvD movies by media center still could not hear any sound. So, any ideas on what I could try would be much appreciated thanks. JC

Hey guys, if you still have issues with your windows media center no sound via HDMI, the only thing that worked for me was to go and recharge Vista64 on my laptop. Once I'm done to recharge the laptop and get the codec64 pack, I have NOW its work via HDMI to my windows media center. Believe me, I did research hours for a cure, and the only thing that worked for me was to go forward and to reload Vista on my laptop. I'm sure that many of you do not want to do that I didn't do it anymore, but it was the last resort. I did it all right at the beginning of April and since then everything works fine. Believe me, there was a lot of research I was doing so I wouldn't have to go through the reload of the operating system on my laptop, BUT it was the only thing that worked. I'm happily watching movies WITH sound via HDMI. If you still want to do some research go ahead so I'm saying that you will spend a lot of time and get frustrated that the sound still does not work. Think of this imagine spending hours doing research and still not able to find the cure. It could take you hours and days and still not find a cure. So it would be better just to go ahead and reload the OS which can take only 1 hour and a half to 2 hours. most report looking for hours or days and don't get any resolution. So good luck to find your resolution. JC

  • No sound HDMI on HP dv6t select ed

If this does not work, make sure that you have the drivers for your installed ATI video card. You check the exact model and make sure that your bios is up to date. They did for switchable graphics now, which is far preferable to the previous detection switch. The drivers are updated, as well. The latest drivers from HP for the ATI were released in November. You can install these, and then install the latest AMD/ATI Mobility video driver package on top to make sure that you have the latest video drivers. Or the other of these packages includes the HDMI audio driver, which can not be installed.

  • Aspire v3-571 problem with sound/HDMI

Hi, I am trying to get my laptop to provide normal to the headphone audio output while it has a HDMI connection to the TV connector. It is solid to the TV but I need also to the laptop. I have spent six hours looking at different sources, but can't find anything specific to Acer and Intel/Realtek provided in the laptop configuration. Can someone provide details on how to do it, or just tell me I'm SOL.

I don't think that you will be able to send her out of the audio input jack and HDMI port.

It must be routed through one or the other.

I found no other aid anywhere! This is driving me crazy because he used to work very well? If any details are req please let me know. Help, please

    Hello

This is the email from a friend:

    Establish the connection:

    1. connect the HDMI cable to the computer and television. If the TV has a "DVI/HDMI" port not in use. Use a HDMI port only.

2 turn on the TV and select the HDMI port you use. Adjust the TV settings to receive audio HDMI if necessary.

    3. turn on the computer. (Optional, some people close the lid of the laptop immediately after hitting the power button, but I don't know why.) Most of the people shouldn't need to do).

    4. optional. Some models are better if the TV is set to the main display. To set, repeatedly press Fn + F8 (or ctrl + alt + F4) to scroll through the settings (laptop display only / display of the laptop with external/external display display only). Reboot the laptop.

    5. go to start > Control Panel > sounds > playback make "HDMI" the default device. (If "HDMI" is not there, right click in the white area and go to the section "Show disconnected devices" or "Show disabled devices" and see if it is there.)

    After connection problems:

    1. If there is still no option to select "HDMI" as default audio playback device, try to re-setup of update driver graphic or even try an older version. "" The graphics driver is the HDMI audio driver, not the audio driver on a regular basis a few people with Intel graphics card had the best results by uninstalling the graphics driver, reboot and let Windows search for a driver (instead of download the Dell printer driver

    support site).

    2. try to disconnect and then reconnect the HDMI cable.

3 If you are using Windows Media Player or Windows Media Center but don't get no audio HDMI even after that that he is selected as the default playback device, go to

Control Panel > sound > playback > Audio playback device / > HDMI > properties > Advance > exclusive Mode and uncheck "exclusive mode".

    4. try another HDMI cable.

    5. try another HDMI port on the TV.

    Good luck.

  • HDMI plugged new spectrum HP i5, 4 GB, 128Meg, (WIN 8.1) on television, picture fine but no sound

Hello.. HP G4X24PA #ABG spectrum, bought a few days ago links in via a cable HDMI to Sony HD TV - picture fine but no sound... tried the Panel, her etc, but no sound HDMI to click and be told by default?   IDT High Definition Audio Codec listed but no connection HDMI - suspects not updated drivers? But HP says it all assistant is updated?  Focused web - many answers for Win XP/Vista etc but I'm under WIN 8.1 - can always connect external speakers or use Y-connector but I think that this simple cable HDMI SHOULD work? Any help appreciated - first post please treat me gently (and as a new stupid nerd head please... that is to say the simple answers please...)!

To solve this?   seems to not be the order in which the equipment is connected... first of all, cable HDMI plugged to the TV and computer, then switch to computer, then switch to TV... seems to work with the image and the sound from the TV every time until now...   (More, once I had to check "mute" left!)

  • Loss of the HDMI sound after the monitor stop

    System:

HP laptop computer dv9330ca on Vista 64-bit. NVidea GE Force 7600 and Conexant audio.

I have hooked the lappy HDMI cable to the TV (Toshiba 32DT2U or 32C110U, not sure) and had no sound.  Define sound from digital output (SPDIF) in Control Panel - still no sound.  Video drivers updated - make us it sound.  Update audio drivers - sound disappeared. Audio restoration pilot - still no sound. Re-install video drivers - make us it sound.  Reboot - we still have sound!  The Toshiba power on and turn it on again - no noise :( Re-install video drivers - still no sound :(

I rebooted after all the steps mentioned above.  I am aware of "the digital sound setting" in Control Panel, but it's not helping more.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

  • HDMI has stopped playing sound using Vista

I have been using a HDMI cable to play Netflix on my TV via a laptop computer for a couple of years.  Suddenly, yesterday, I hooked it up and plays the video but not sound.  The sound comes through the speakers.  I went on several forums looking for answers to the problem "hdmi will not play sound" and none of the solutions work.

For example, I did this: click Start, go to control panel, go in where it says hardware and audio and click the words 'Hardware and Sound', then the third option down, is "Sound". On the right under 'Sound', he says 'manage Audio devices '. Click on that and then click on where it says "device (HDMI) digital output" when that highlights, go down and click on "Set as default", then click on 'OK '.
I do not see the DEVICE of DIGITAL (HDMI) OUTPUT in the box "manage audio devices" and it can be a problem, but what is confusing to me, is that I used to be able to play sounds without any problem, and now I can't.
Something has changed, but I don't know what.  Microsoft has made an update that now interferes with the sound hdmi?

    Hello

Make sure that the physical connections are properly connected. You can do the system restore, see if it works very well.
