No sound in Windows 7 32 - bit (Notebook Toshiba)

Hi all.

First of all, I want to say, it is of a Toshiba Satellite P105-S9337 and this is a new installation of Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. Now, on XP, this laptop was perfectly fine - everything worked correctly. However, after installing Windows 7 seems to have met a problem with the audio does not. The details are being Toshiba V4.70 19/01/2009 - BIOS SMBIOS Version 2.4. The motherboard, from what I can tell, is called a P105-S9337 motherboard (shrug).

Now I have almost tried everything. Before everyone tells me, Yes, I ran the store and check to see if my audio is enabled, the value by default, etc, etc. Windows 7 downloaded and installed its own version of the Conexant SmartAudio HD2 high-definition (4.36.7.60; 2008-04-11). However, has no - no sound.

I was in the Web from Toshiba site and downloaded their Conexant Audio Driver for Windows 7 (v4.8.0.0), 04/09/2009. When defective, I downloaded versions of Windows Vista, they come out to see if they work. Also missed me. Then I fell a P105-S9339 version - to see if its pilots would work. However, nothing was done.

I checked with programs that automatically download the drivers needed, but who has not yet detected that there is a problem. I can even open the playback Menu and it displays "Speakers" and "SPDIF Interface" listed. I'm going to play a song, and it will show the volume on the speakers!

The only time where I hear audio is if I plug in headphones. I can hear sounds through headphones, but no speakers.

Also one thing I've observed. Whenever I update to automatic pilots of Windows 7 to the latest drivers Conexant 4.8, my reading of "Speakers" changes to "internal Audio / headphones." Why would it be?

Please, I've worked on this all day. I can't find a solution!

My husband has had the same problem after I installed Windows 7 on a Toshiba Satellite P105-S9722 which was previously under XP. After a lot of research and frustration, we had to try theDriver Conexant Audio for Windows Vista(v3.18.0.51; 02-02-2007; 2.3M)

I guess that they do not have a stable driver for 7, but the Vista driver worked instantly. I hope this has helped!

    Hello

    There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

    There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

    You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

    They should do this for a small fee.

    To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

    You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

    How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

    "How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

    And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

    The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

    Ask them to the proper key sequence.

    With a Toshiba, you press 0 (zero) to start to start the ro process of factory of the recovery Partition recovery.

    And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

    Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

    If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

    Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

    If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

    You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

    Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

    And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

    "How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

    And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

    And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • No sound in Windows 7 (64 bit) VM

    Hey-

    I installed the Windows 7 RC (64 bit) in a virtual machine (installed under Vista x 64), but can't seem to get any sound. At one point, the drivers have been installed, and externally there is no problem... just no sound. After reading something on the Internet, I tried to uninstall the driver in Device Manager and reboot in the hope that the driver to reinstall. There can be no. Now, I don't have his and no driver. I searched all over creation and can not find the driver anywhere. I fell too open my .vmx file and my novice eyes sees everything which seems crazy:

    Sound.Present = 'TRUE '.

    sound.fileName = "-1".

    Sound.AutoDetect = "TRUE".

    1. ... SNIP... #.

    sound.pciSlotNumber = "34".

    1. ... SNIP... #.

    sound.startConnected = 'TRUE '.

    I also tried to reinstall the VMWare Tools with no luck and download the driver separately, but I can't find it in the VMWare Fusion drivers & the Tools section of the download page. Any ideas how I can get sound to work in my virtual machine?

    Thank you.

    OK, well ideally, VMware Tools should install this driver. You said re - install VMware Tools in your first post. When you did, did you uninstall VMware Tools first? If this isn't the case, I recommend you to uninstall VMware Tools, re - install VMware Tools.

    You can uninstall VMware Tools from the control panel > programs > uninstall a program.

    Let me know if this helps.

    Hello

    Satellite A205 is undoubtedly an American series, that the drivers should be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page we:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/home.jsp

    Maybe you will find all tools win7 for this device but in this case, try the Vista s VAP.

    This package contains more than simple tools allowing the mobile control different functions.

  • No sound from HP - 8560p, windows 7 64 bit elitebook docking station

    I was issued a laptop Elitebook 8560p for use with a 90 W HP Docking station at work.  When the laptop is plugged into the docking station, the port ' audio out ' of the docking station does not work.  The sound continues to come out of the computer laptop speakers, or, if I plug the headphones into the headphone for laptop, it comes out of the helmet.  Plug the headphones into the Docking Station does not all the sounds (either of the two audio ports - in or out).  When the laptop is plugged into the docking station, no additional reading device does appear in the audio menu - just an output HDMI AMD (disabled) and speakers (activated).

    The speakers/headphones on the laptop works fine, the problem is just that the docking station is in no way "replica" or the audio output support and it's as if the port of the enclosure of the dock just weren't there.  So, I could use my headset by plugging directly to the laptop, but this really seems to defeat the whole concept of a docking station.  All other ports (video, usb) seem to work on the docking station.

    I am running Windows 7, 64-bit.

    I reinstalled the sound driver (for laptop) so that the laptop was plugged into the dock.  That did the trick.

    How did you find the rest of the drivers? Windows Update form?

    Answer to this question is really imprtant to me. This will give me the knowledge about the drivers for this model OTF Win7. If any user of HP will have problems with finding them so I know how to solve this problem.
