  • Qosmio G10 with the new graphics card and pcb - CD update tools do not work

    Hello world

I hope you can help me. Before a few weeks, I received my Toshiba Qosmio G10 return of aid, because the laptop no longer works. So I get it back with a new graphics card and a new PCB. With my laptop I have a CD called the update tool CD and a sheet of instructions, where it says to start with this tool CD-Rom update after you have installed the Windows with the reovery CD.

So I did, but when I know the update tool CD to put in and I start with it, the computer installs something, but after a short then it is a message that it is a different model and that I have to put a button to close Notepad. So I did it, but Windows does not start.

Why is it so? I had done everything that has been said on the instruction sheet.

    Please help me

    Hello

It will be interesting to find more information on this CD-Rom tool update. Are there tags Toshiba? Can you please write what is described here?

  • Is satellite A10 - possible to install the new graphics card?

    Hello

I have a videocard Satelite A10, 2.2 Ghz, 712 MB of RAM, provided with your computer.

I just bought the Sims 2 and thought from the specifications that I would be able to play on my current card. However when I try to run it it gets to the intro screen and then hangs when it is ready to go into the Menu. My first impressions are that I don't have a pretty good graphics card.

I need a 32 MB T & L capable card so can someone confirm if this is why it would not work on the system.

If that's the case I'm looking to see if it is possible to install a new graphics card on the machine I want to play more games to date.

the map I'm looking at is Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600 XT 256 MB AGP8X graphics card. It will work on the machine and it is likely to solve my problem?

    Thank you

    HI Jeff,

In General, it is not possible to change the graphics card in your laptop. This is because the graphics cell are generally not a component separated (as with a normal PC), but generally a specific graphic chip attached to the motherboard so make the graphics a part of the laptop.

At the same time, the graphics driver is normally a specially modified version will omit some of the more esoteric aspects of the normal driver to minimize the risk of overheating chip since it does not have its own cooling system. Given this, you will find probably than trying to load the latest graphic website manufacturers drivers (Nvidia, ATI, etc.) will not work, and you will therefore be limited to these pilots provided by Toshiba on their Web site.

In order to get your copy of the SIMS 2 to run you need to omit or reduce some of the graphics settings in the game itself, or alternatively, you can try to use some of the graphics third-party drivers that are written to provide some of the omitted features of the original notebook drivers. Note that if you do that there is no guarantee that they won't cause your overheating graphics chip, even if I used the ATI Omega drivers for some time now without any problems. You can get them: -.

  • How to install the new graphics card due to the absence of HDMI Port

I have an old laptop, and I want to connect it to my HD TV. Problem with that is that I don't have an HDMI Port. I noticed on a similar question that you responded that it might be useful to consider the insertion of a new graphics card. As I have never opened a laptop before, I was wondering if it is fairly simple to do this, (as anyone who could do it) or if I'd rather pay someone to do it?

You can use something like this:

or Google "USB to HDMI" of many other and different price ranges. Don't forget to look at the comments of consumers before buying something like this. They all promise of greatness, but I'm sure few deliver.

    Hello

Look over hererecommended system configuration.  Your PC adapts to the minimum but not the recommended configuration.  Even in this case, you'll need a big discrete video card and a new PSU power supply.  If the game works even evil would then require more memory and a faster processor.

The adjacent slot on the PCI-E x 16slot must be vacant.

    Hello:

All the drivers, specifications and manuals are missing from pages support again.

This happened earlier in the week also.

Another Member of the forum has reported the problem to administrators forum, which will be in touch tour HP, but since I am not employed by, nor do I represent HP, I don't know how long it will take to restore the missing data to the support pages.

Whether the weekend will not help much either.

  • Installed the new drive hard and now I get a pop up that says that my windows is not genuine.

I upgraded my hard drive on my Dell Inspiron 1750. Now, I get a pop up that says that my windows is not genuine. But under the control of configuration\systeme and Security\System, it says my windows is activated. It is an OEM with Windows7 system House. Did that clone a new (bigger, 1 TB) hard disk and then install. In addition, windows update does not work now either. Said the service is not running.

You have installed RemoveWAT at some point in the past.

Now we must try to clear up the mess :(

Best way to fix it now (since we do not know what version of RemoveWAT served) is to run WATFix...

Download WATFix - make sure you click the link in the page, not the big shiny buttons! - and use it.

Then post back with another MGADiag report, and we will see what we can do.

HP Pavilion p6 - 2120t CTO desktop PC

    Configuration:
    Intel Pentium CPU [email protected]
    4.0 GB RAM
Intel HD Graphics Driver version Family: 8.15.10.2291 dated 27/01/2011
Motherboard: IPISB-CU (Carmel2) (1 open PCI Express 16 expansion slot pins)

    BIOS to Version 7.18

    Running:
    Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit w/service pack 1
Two monitors (VGA, 1 digital port 1)

Before installing the new graphics card, I replaced the power supply original 300w with a 400w power supply.

For starters, I disabled the onboard graphics in Device Manager. Then, I opened the case and installed the GT-740 in the open PCI Express slot. I made sure that the card was fully engaged in the slot.

I plugged both monitors to their connections voted on the new map.

When I tried to boot the PC, the digital monitor displays the screen HP (the one that indicates which key support to achieve the start menu) and then frozen. No other entries of key or mouse have been accepted.

The PC then sounds 4 short beeps (about 10 seconds between each beep) and then a long beep before turning off the signal to the screen.

Then, I removed the new graphics card on the PC that starts then. I have reactivated the original graphics drivers and the PC then worked normally.

Tried the above process two more times with the same results.

I then went into the start menu to look at the BIOS. The menu of the BIOS shows two options:

    > Sources of boot UEFI

    Windows Boot Manager

    > Sources of boot legacy

    ATAP I CD/DVD player

    SATA2

    Hard drive

    SATA0

Network controller (Realtek PXE B06 D00)

PC using UEFI Boot Manager Windows boots normally

I have not tried Legacy Boot Sources because I don't know which one to choose.

I went to the HP site and looked for an update to the newest BIOS, but updating them is a rev version 7.16 while my PC shows my BIOS to version 7.18

I know that others have had a similar problem but I have not seen a solution that works for my PC.

    Any advice would be welcome.
    Thanks for your time.

    Hello

Your PC isn't spec'd to run Windows 7 using the Windows Boot Manager.  I expect to a UEFI-based graphics card likely to work on an HP PC that does not have a BIOS version 8.

The below listed OEM HP, graphics cards should work in your PC using a normal non - UEFI W7 and W8 installation.

  • Pavilion p6 - 2020t: HP-Pavilion will identify the new graphics card

    Hello

I got a HP Pavilion for a few years now and never updated my BIOS (not that I know well). I'm trying to install a new graphics (gtx 750ti) card and the computer does not recognize it. It shows the first screen, and then a black screen and a beep, then it crashes. Keyboard does not work, cannot get into the BIOS.

I tried everythign with current BIOS, boot legacy and ensuring that the Integrated GPU is disabled, and nothing works. I also did research on food, and but it is not terrible, it should work with this graphics card (the fan even spinning).

According to my research, the current BIOS is simply not recognize, and I need to update. My current version is: FRIEND 7.16, 05/10/2011

I navagate through the HP website and it said that the automatic update should update the BIOS for Windows 10, and it won't let me download all drivers (although the last BIOS update was 2011). I tried to enter the FRIEND's site and download it from there and it won't even install their drivers, it says that flash is not supported (probably for Windows 10).

If someone could give me an idea of how can I get a newer version of the BIOS for my motherboard, it would be much appreciated as I'm pretty sure that's the reason why the computer is not recognizing the new graphics card

The risk is that the video card is one that is for a newer PC with an EFI BIOS. That's why the empty card is not recognized.

If you use a card equipped with a switch on the virtual card allowing the use in legacy and uefi BIOS it will work with the BIOS of your PC.

Sapphire makes video cards that have this capability. Take a look at the catalogue. What you need is a PCIE x 16 card video with switchable legacy\uefi BIOS or legacy support, but not only UEFI.

I finally decided to improve a few pieces of hardware and im thinking that it was a mistake. I started by adding a version2.2 550w atx12v bfg power. It works like a charm and is very easy to connect. I then added 1 GB of ram (240pin pc2 5300 ddr2) taking me 2 GB to 3 GB. that went well too. I then added a bfg nvidia geforce 9500gt. and here's where the trouble begins. I installed the card using the instructions IE: disabiling graphics card integrated in the Device Manager. I then ran the driver cd of instalation. Once you are prompted to restart the computer, I did and when he started back I had a blue tint. I adjusted a lot, if not all my color options and it did not help. I called the technical support of bfg and told me that it was a faulty card. I out took it and referred to a DIFFERENT best buy. Home reinstalled drivers and the card and still have the blue tint. I've updated all the drivers I could find including my bios and the new drivers from the nvidia site. downloaded all the moniter hp tools (im using a moniter hpw1907 with dvi plug) still prevails the blue tint. the video card came with a dvi to VGA, so I thought that maybe my dvi cord has been damaged so I used the adapter and he ran into vga (I know that this cord is not defective that's what I was using before you install everything new Twitter.com) and I still have the blue tint. • HP compaq dc5800 sff: install a new graphics card

    Hello

I bought a 240 r7 radeon graphics card to upgrade my hp dc5800 sff, it is running on the q33 chipset from intel.

How to install this new graphics card? I want to talk about the installation of the drivers, not the placement in the pc itself.

I read somewhere that I first need to uninstall the drivers from the chipset, q33 before putting the card in my pc, is it true? If Yes, how should I do it OK?

If not, can I just put it in the case, plug in my monitor inside and start the pc, then install the drivers from the disk?

    Thank you

    Hello

It is very rare that the removal of the existing video driver is necessary before installing a new video card. Most video card manufacturers do not understand such a suggestion with instructions to install a new video card.

However, if you still believe that you must work Yes, so that you can go through the program and features Control Panel to remove the video driver only. You can also use Driversweeper to clean up the video driver.  However, before removing the Chuck, make sure you have the original drivers downloaded to your desktop so that you don't have to hunt for him later if necessary.

The AMD R7 240 does not yet in your PC according to the level of brand, model and vBIOS in the graphics card.  In addition, check power supply required for the 240 R7 which, from what I've read is 400 watts.

  • Computer does not start after installing a new graphics card

I am owner of a HP Pavilion H8-1020 with a processor intel i7 - 2600 s Windows 7 and am trying to upgrade my Radeon hd 6570 to a Gigabyte AMD Radeon R9 280 OC. I improved my diet for a Corsair CX750 to meet the requirements of power and installed with number. After the installation of the new card, which as far as I can tell is well seated in the pci slot and correctly connected to the PSU, my computer does not start.

System powers on, all fans of begin to run including the fans on the new graphics card, but it does not begin the boot process, no entry is received at my monitors, no light on the keyboard, my OS starts loading, I can turn off the system without the delay that will flow normally. Then I reinstalled my old graphics card and the computer started as usual.

Now, assuming that the card is not DOA, which unfourtunatly I have no way to verify, and I'd like to see if it could be another problem before going through the process of restitution. I did some reading on the internet, which helped, but did not help for a technological neophyte like me.  Now, I know a few things that could cause this problem but lack the necessary skills to determine what question is making me. What I've read, these could be possible questions:

1: my new graphics card is not compatible with my motherboard. It's something I know now that I should have checked before buying and something I should theoretically be able to do it now, but I am at a loss on how to do it. My card is compatible with my motherboard?

2 could be a BIOS problem. I updated my bios driver with the version provided by the HP site. I am running FRIEND 7.16 05/10/2011.  And from what I've read it might have something to do with my bios to UEFI mode and I would need to go to a legacy mode so he can recognize a new device, is it true? I am extremely wary of messing with my BIOS settings for fear of bricking my system. How can I check my current BIOS settings are and what I should change and how would approach I change them? Will one of these changes affect my system if they are not what is not causing the problem?

In addition to these issues, anyone know any other matter which may be the cause of the problem that I should look for? Thanks for any help.

    Hello @Eric_Z,

I can see why you are having problems with your new graphics card, and to get to the fast response that your motherboard is not compatible with the new graphics card that you have purchased. And here's why.

Your motherboard according to the page HP Pavilion HPE h8-1020 Desktop PC product specifications is the Carmel motherboard, which has the following expansion slots:

    • A PCI Express x 16
    • Three PCI Express x 1 connectors
    • A PCI Express Mini Card x 1

As there is no version indicated for your PCI Express x 16 it slot means that it is version 1.

Now, your previous graphics card was a PCI Express 2.1 x 16, which means that it was version 2 and compatible with your PCI Express x 16 slot on your motherboard. However, the new card is PCI Express 3.0 and will not work in your motherboard due to a compatibility break. While the technology is supposed to be compatible there are many cases where it is not, and I'm afraid that you meet one of these cases.

I am offering an overclock.net article entitled: the final answer to the controversial compatibility of PCIe x 16 version. where your situation has been tested and examined.

I hope this helps. Have a great day and thank you for display on the HP Forums!
