  Hello!  Just bought a new Dell XPS with Real-Tek speakers and subwoofer... when installed, all worked fine EXCEPT the audio.  The speakers work, because they "whine" when they are disconnected from the back of the computer; and works of volume/bass/headphone plug, clips, as the volume of the groan.

  However, no audio test crossed; no music Itunes, Windows Media Player or other audio files will play. my Ipod won't play through the headset or plug in MP3.

  Any ideas on how I can get audio?  This isn't an upgrade to 7.0 from the window, but a brand new machine on which the audio has unfortunately never worked...

  Since this is a new computer with Dell Support check, their documentation online and drivers, and
  ask in the Dell forums for known issues. Update or reinstall the driver. Other than that
  having Support Dell repair or replace the computer. Even if an update of the driver solves the problem, you would
  hold that he documented just in case there are issues of the road.

  How to fix sound on computer Dell Optiplex 745

  Had a Dell Optiplex 745 under Microsoft's XP computer that has failed. Bought a Dell Optiples 745 computer rebuilt under Windows 7 premium. Connected to new computer equipment has remained unchanged since the original computer. Its worked OK on old XP computer but does not work on the new Windows 7 computer. Can anyone tell how to get the sound of the new computer?

  Dell 745 is technically not supported under Windows 7 there is no drivers listed for her. However, I found the cabins of combo of Windows 7 available herehttp://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/w/wiki/2065.dell-driver-cab-files-for-enterprise-client-os-deployment.aspx to halfway to the bottom of the page has solved a lack of Windows 7 drivers for the older two Dell and material not Dell question times. Scroll down to half at the bottom of page. Although the OptiPlex model figure not upgrade driver pointing to the cab file Wizard is working.

  HairyFool thanks for your reply. I can open the link that reference you and the page to the section Optiplex. However, I am at a loss to find theUpdate Driver Wizard you mention. There is a driver update utility Dell available for download at the price of $29.95? What is the wizard that reference you? Even in this case I don't know how to point to the nearest Cab file (Windows 7 Optiplex 760, 780, etc.) that lead you? No further details would be much appreciated. By the way that I would have never found the solution you offer thanks a lot for your comments!

  I was unable to use this method to load a driver of sound of windows 7 on my computer however, 745 Dell optiples I found a solution to my idea of another site. Click on the link following driver Dell

  Follow through, and then select the Vista audio driver (using 32 or 64 bit depending on your system). Mine is 32-bit. You'll only find an audio driver listed. Open it and download it using run to download.  Override any alert that this driver is not good for your computer. Once this driver has been activated (run), you should have your sound on your Dell Optples 745 computer.

  New computer.  First try at an HP product.  No sound coming from the rear or the front/top audio ports.  Exclude the speakers, they are working on ther devices.  Volume is up in the mixer and speakers.  In Device Manager shows reports Manager IDT High Definition Audio Codec and peripheral digital output (S/PDIF) that it works correctly.  Don't know what else to otherwise than being frustrated.

  Your audio device is selected by default in the Device Manager?  This is necessary to make it work properly.

  New MacBook Pro MY wife, bought again three weeks ago, manifests a few annoying habits at all, I think, associated with Safari.  When she first brought home I helped put up and deliberately copied on only a couple of files, including our Quicken accounts, from his old machine.  The new computer should be almost squeaky clean at this stage.

  First of all, when it opens Safari, it gets not one, but two getpocket.com pop-up windows that have nothing in them.  I used Pocket as an iPhone/iPad app for awhile but have no reason to think that some functions sharing is at stake here.  Question is how to keep these opening windows.  I have looked at the Safari extensions and can't find anything on the Pocket it.

  Second, keeps popping up a dialog box asking them to add Apple.com to its shared links, click on the 'OK' button or cancels.  The next time she starts Safari sound here.

  Finally, the most embarrassing is an ad in any form that someone - it is not always the same source - has determined that his computer has been attacked by something wrong and need to dial a number or talk to his ISP or any other action.  I had a similar problem with my iMac, but there are three other Macs in our House, all on the same network, which does not exhibit this behavior.  Some of them are on El Capitan, others on older versions of Mac OS.

  Try to use Ctrl + B to activate so hidden menu bar, and then use Edit > Preferences > reading and look at the entry for Play Audio to help. This should normally be set to Sound live or Session Windows Audio. Change to the other setting can sometimes help.

  Otherwise see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates, tear down everything and reinstall.

  I just got a new computer hp laptop but the sound quality is horrible. This computer is supposed to have audio beats it is red and has even the symbol of beats on my mouse pad area. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what but there is no way that that's what my computer "beats" is supposed to sound like.   Just a random adobe employee, but it is probably best to sign up today for the service and then just wait for happen to install and download the software from the computer.  Trying to get the discount retroactively applied sounds quite a bit more difficult, and you can set the account from any computer without installing anything.
