  I have a problem, because I had a virus on my laptop, I had to reinstall windows 10. Everything is working again except when I plug in my hdmi cable it does not recognize the hdmi audio output. If I look at my audio devices it says: digital audio (HDMI) not connected. I tried to put my card video/audiodrivers/all drivers to day/re-installing what I think of cound, but nothing works. Prior to the re - install everything worked fine, so I think it's a software problem, I just don't know what it is. Can someone help me?

  OK, you should be able to solve this problem quite easily.

  Because HP does not officially support your laptop for W10, but graphics driver W10 works, let's add the HDMI audio driver from the file of graphics driver for W7 on your laptop support page, without messing with the display of work W10 driver.

  First of all, download and install this free utility for files.  The 2nd high page file is 64-bit.

  After installing 7 - Zip, download and save but are not run this file from W7 graphics driver.

  This package provides the graphics driver Intel high definition (HD) with Turbo Boost technology for the notebook models and operating systems.

  Have 7-Zip extract of: and leave it to extract the driver file in its file name of the file (sp64360).

  Once this is done, go to the Device Manager and click on the peripheral plain high-definition audio (not the IDT one).

  Click on the driver tab, click on set to update driver.

  Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the driver 7-Zip created folder.

  Hello, I just bought a HDMI cable to connect my HP Pavilion x 360 on my TV. Unfortunately, I get only video on my TV but no sound. Audio only comes from my x 360 Pavilion. I am aware of the right by clicking on the volume icon and clicking on "playback devices" to defult cable HDMI or TV. Unfortunaly, it is not visible even after activating the devices disconnected and disabled. Please, someone help so I can get sound on my TV as well?   On my HP Envy, there is a known issue, that the system still does not recognize the new connection, so you get no audio and video.  The solution on my machine is to connect the hdmi cable with the computer and the television to stop (or at less the computer sleep), THEN you will need to activate them in the right order - I think that this is TV first, then computer to find the live TV connection already when it starts / wakes up.

  Your PC does not support HDMI output.  You must install a dedicated graphics card to support HDMI output with sound.

  Anyway, click with the right button of the mouse on the speaker symbol in the taskbar and choose playback devices option. Is it classified HDMI device? If so try pleaser to choose the option set as default device. You hear the sound of the TV?

  Generally if you have connected the HDMI cable you should be able to configure the Digital Audio (HDMI) under sound > playback.

  If the option isn't available I guess that it s something wrong with his driver. In your case, I'll try to update the audio driver and the latest version can be downloaded on the official page of Toshiba.

  I understand that you have a problem with the sound and wanted to help you!

  Unfortunately, DVI - D ports do not carry video, not audio signals.  To make it work, you would need some type of DVI - D to HDMI, that had to carry the audio signals.  I hope this helps.

  I have a hp probook 4710 s, I have recently cleaned my computer wiping windows vista and download of windows 7 for my computer.  Before I did my hdmi cable that I used for the tv worked, and now that I have reset everything on my computer I can not get my TV to recognize sound through the hdmi cord, even if the image is their.  What should I do?  My laptop has his and my tv has sound when it is not connected to my computer but the second he plug the tv noise disappears and all the sound out of my computer speakers.  I changed all the settings in the sounds and audio devices, and nothing has worked.  any suggestions

  In the section of sound from the Control Panel, when you click on manage Audio devices, you see two choices?

  You should.  You should see your integrated audio system (Soundmax) and your HDMI (which should be your AMD HD Audio device).

  You must have this current option in order to have your HDMI audio to work.

  If it is not present, I recommend you to only visit the Web of AMD site to download and install the latest drivers and the catalyst control center. This package should include the HDMI audio.

  Hello.  Worked last week and the connection mths prior HDMI, TV had sound.  This weekend, 20/08/16, the TV sound went, but still had the video.  Watched forums, utube and do the audio control panel Device Manager.  Audio high definition Digital Audio-AMD display device; not plugged in is grayed out.  clicked on it does not.  the default configuration is also grey so I can't even define a default value.  PC speakers.  bought a new HDMI cable but no change.  all the drivers are up to date.  not really sure what happened.  has worked for months and now no sound.  any idea?

  I understand that you had previously no problem with the sound of the TV connected via HDMI. Last weekend, the noise disappeared. You have looked at the HP Forums, YouTube and checked in the Device Manager. Audio high definition Digital Audio-AMD display device; not trendy, is grayed out. and you clicked on it nothing doesn't. The default configuration is also grayed out, but the PC speakers work. You have successfully updated all the drivers. You bought a new HDMI cable, but change the cable did not help.

  The birthday Windows Update has been installed? 10 1607 Windows version. Have you tried to run the troubleshooter in Windows? Have you checked against viruses and malware? Did you run the HP Support Assistant? Here is a link to a post on answers.microsoft.com that can help.   • Open the Device Manager
  • Click outputs and inputs
  • Right click on the speakers and uninstall
  • Restart your laptop

  If the problem persists, try using a different driver.

  • Open the Device Manager
  • Click Audio inputs and outputs to lengthen the list
  • Right-click on the speakers and click on update driver software
  • Click Browse my computer for driver software
  • Let me pick from a list of device on my computer drivers
  • Select the Audio device high definition
  • Click next and follow the prompts.

  Thank you to visit the Support Forums HP and welcome and thank you for all the information about what you tried. I looked in your question about your computer laptop dv7 HP ENVY and the problems of sound with an HDMI cable connected.

  Try this fix.

  1. a click right icon "speaker" (right)
  2. Select playback device
  3. click right speakers
  4 activate and as default
  5. click apply/OK

  This is a general document on the resolution of the problems with the HDMI connection.

  With the HDMI cable you have restarted the laptop?
