No sound on my HP laptop

Product name:

Dv6-7214nr HP ENVY notebook

Product number: C2L40UA

Windows 8 operating

There is no sound on my HP and when I try to test there is a window that appears saying there is another program running even though I just started to the top of the laptop work. The computer for the volume icon also will not "mute" when I push the mute button it.

Hello

Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp59501-60000/sp59654.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

Once complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp58001-58500/sp58388.exe

When you're done, shut down the laptop by holding down the key SHIFT left click Shutdown to temporarily prevent a hybrid boot.

Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  Left click 'Speakers and headphones' (or speakers/HP) once to highlight and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio and determine if the mute led functions correctly.

Kind regards

Hi, since last week, whenever I plug my headphones in my laptop sound through BOTH the laptop speakers and my helmet. It worked perfectly last week. My laptop is not a Realtek driver, there IDT with beats. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the latest drivers, and if I had realtek I would be able to change the settings. Please help me as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Hi @Ikhlazz

I regret that the diagnosis did not help.

I try to reinstall the original drivers by using the Recovery Manager using Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 8) and then run the HP Support Assistant to update the drivers.

Then, I would try a Refresh Your PC to solve problems (Windows 8). This will reinstall the operating system.  If the laptop comes with Windows 8, it is what will be reinstalled, and you must update again.

    Windows 8 to 8.1 update

If it is still not resolved, I would like to do a full restore in the factory.  Performing a recovery of HP (Windows 8) system

During this process, you will have a chance to back up your data to avoid data loss. If you do not have one yet, this is the perfect opportunity.

Restore files that have been supported to the top using HP Recovery Manager (Windows 8)

If the issue should still be visible, I suggest to contact HP support for assistance. They can access your system remotely to help find and correct problems.

    Good luck!

I have my volume set the setting on my HP Pavilion laptop of series g, but sound must be stronger... is there a way I can increase it?

    Hello

One thing that can help is the following.  Do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "playback devices".  Left click the device once to highlight default (it is usually 'speakers and headphones') and then click the properties button.  Click the enhancements tab and put a check mark in the box "Loudness equalization.  Click on apply to save the changes and then click OK in all other windows and see if allowed at all.

ALSO view cant You Tube it says JavaScript is disabled, how can I check it please, Vista is new to me.
Sorry to be a pain, thank you.

Hi - I too had problems with the new laptop equium L300 bought Currys Canterbury in June. We live in Normandy. It loaded Ok but first use constantly crashed and overheated.

If it is technical store local (French) computer that seems to have solved the problem. Said laptop OS is Vista Basic on the case, but on the back it is loaded with Vista Premium.

Memory is 1 GB, which is not enough to run Vista Premium. Also the computer loaded with masses of trial software including any Office suite from Microsoft, MacAfee and Norton and masses of other junk. Shop added two mgs memory and cleaned all the waste and it works fine now.

Does anyone know if Toshiba 1 year warranty is valid in France on machine bought in the United Kingdom?

  • Re: Satellite P300 - no sound when connecting computer laptop to TV via HDMI

    Hello

I searched online on several sites and read the messages on this forum too but still could not find a solution that works.
I plugged in the cable and instantly got video but no sound. This cable works fine with my PS3.

I tried to set the audio device by default both HDMI and S/PDIF and reboot after each time, but it doesn't work!
Also, when I choose HDMI as device and try clicking on the Test, I get an error message saying "cannot play the test tone".

I checked for updates for the driver through Windows and it is said that there are no updates. I have a Satellite P300 laptop.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you

This means you have a perfect television image after activating the HDMI port but the problem is its only?

I have a Satellite P100-160 running Windows 7 32 bit. At the beginning the sound works normally, but after a period in mode 'sleep' there is no sound - all the indicators show the green bars on the rise and fall as if working normally.

If restarting the laptop the sound back up to an additional period in mode "Eve". There is also no sound through headphones if plugged. I uninstalled the driver and allowed the computer to automatically download the latest driver.

    Can anyone suggest a solution?
    Thank you very much.

    Hello
  • I have no sound on my PC laptop Toshiba Equium suddenly, what should I do about it?

Hi, all of a sudden my internal speakers on my laptop are no longer works.  I uninstalled the drivers from speakers on the Toshiba site and reinstalled them.  They are Realtek hidef speakers.  The sound in my system tray icon is showing that works very well.  Poster as Device Manager works normally.  Any ideas as to what I should do?  Thank you

    Hi Andyjames2008,

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of Windows Vista.

I will need more information to help you better.

    1. have you made changes on the computer?

    2. how old is your computer?

    3. have you already tried to connect external speakers and check if you get the sound?

In the meantime, I recommend that you try the following.

You can try to perform a system restore on the computer to an earlier date, when you were able to hear the sound from the internal speakers. You can follow the part 2 of the given link:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/936212

You can also try right-clicking on the "speaker" icon and select the playback devices.

When opens his window check that the speakers are selected as the output device.

If you were able to get the sound from external speakers, I suspect the internal speakers wiring may cause the problem, and in this case, you will need to contact the manufacturer of the computer. You can get the contact information from the following link:

    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/home.jsp

Hope the information will help. Please post back and we do know.
