No sound on my Tecra

Hey guys, I'm having a lot of trouble with audio on my laptop. I don't know anything about computers, but after some advice from a friend I downloaded the latest audio driver available on the Toshiba site. My laptop running Windows XP.

in any case after installing the new driver I still have no sound. When I go into sounds and audio devices properties it says that there is no audio device.

Help, please!

Thank you

Hello

First of all, it would be nice to know which laptop you are using.

Second, you should check if the sound card is listed correctly in the Device Manager.
To do this, please go to the control panel-> system-> hardware-> Device Manager tab

If there is a yellow exclamation next to the sound card so this means that there is a failure.
It is possible that the sound card is corrupt and so laptop no sound.

    Hello

recently, I bought used Replicator Toshiba Advanced Port PA3474E-1PRP, working nice, but the only problem is audio - output when connecting the speakers to the port replicator - speakers of the laptop still works + there is a significant loss in sound quality.

Everyone had the same problem, or maybe there's a sollution for this?

PS my laptop is Tecra A7-248

    Hello

To me that sounds like this, out on the port replicator doesn t port works properly if connect you directly to the computer laptop, everything works correctly, or can you notice any problems?

    Have you tested other speakers?

In this case I would recommend updating the sound card drivers and BIOS. The two you can download on the Toshiba site.

  • Suddenly there is no sound in my Tecra M5 under Vista

There is no more noise on my Tecra M5 running windows vista. He used to work even if the sound is fairly low volume. But all of a sudden the sound right was lost when I was watching a video. The icon "speaker" are visible on the taskbar. And I checked the Device Manager, it says that the device works very well. I did not install any device driver. the sound just disappeared... Someone has an idea?

Try to roll back the OS to an earlier time (maybe a day before this happens) to see if the problem persists.

  • No sound on my Tecra 9100

    Hello

I have a 9100 used Tecra since 1 year 1/2. Works well, but 3 months work doesn t sound more. I put t know if I made any specific. I use Windows XP Prof. SP2 (but I used the same when it worked). The sound card is recognized by the operating system and it starts working again but not sound with the speakers and no sound with headset also.

It worked once, and I think that there should be a solution. And I also think that there is no problem with the IO card because the operating system recognizes the soundcard. But maybe I think too :-)

Seems that the Yamaha audio driver does not support the service pack of Microsoft.
There is only one solution, you will update the driver that supports the MS or you will remove him the MS service packs of the system.
I prefer the first solution ;)

  • Strange sounds coming from Tecra 9000

I recently a Tecra 9000 it was swell until it began to Crackle. I'm 100% sure that it is not the speakers. The sound seems to come somewhere around the hardrive it self and after the ticking, the system goes to a blue screen similar to the one that you see when it crashes.

    Hello

The strange sound could come from the HARD drive.
I put t know how old your HARD drive is there but maybe s a beginning of the end!
A strange rattling appeared on my laptop. After a BSOD, I wasn't able to boot up the laptop and the HARD drive was dead.
It was a simple disc HARD head crash. Something happens after a long use of HARD drive. My HARD drive was about 6 years old.

  • Tecra A3 - no sound from the left speaker

I have some problems with the sound on my Tecra. Compared with a friend control Tecra A2 my volume is much quieter, despite having set me all available volume. Now however, the left speaker has renounced all of ghost when I move the balance on the wave or Volume to the left.
An update of the driver would solve this problem?

    Hello

I think it s a hardware malfunction (speaker). I don't think that the replacement of speaker can solve this problem. I suggest you contact the service partner.
The right service partner, you can find on the official website of Toshiba.
If the warranty is still valid, all the changes are free of charge.

    Hello

I have a little problem. Since last weekend, the sound of my tecra s1 is slower than normal (the sound seems to be stretched. I tested it with my other PC laptop is on 30sek reading 5 slower than normal sek)
I have not now why it happened. I thought it was caused by the last correction of directx, but after I installed Windows XP with the recovery cd, the problem is still there :(

I hope someone has an idea how I can activate it to normal :(

I can't give you a good explanation, but you can try to restore the operating system to earlier time using System Restore tool.

If you bring his test using DirectX is all is well?

  • Tecra R940 windows 10 none hdmi sound

    Hello

I have improved my Tecra R940 to 10 Windows and now my audio hdmi does not work. The video works fine. Hdmi audio is displayed in Device Manager but no audio device is detected.

Is this a known problem and is there a solution for this?

    Best regards

    Wim Vervoorn

Uninstall the driver HDMI Control Panel (or the display driver if you do not see driver HDMI).
Uninstall the audio driver and the utility in Control Panel.
Then run Windows Update to install the latest driver.
You should be able to select the audio output device in the settings of the sound card.

  • Tecra A3-151 - Realtek AC 97 no sound

Bought a 'cleaned' Tecra A3-151 (from a reliable source, bought several wiped own laptops from them before with no problems) installed Windows XP on it for a particular use, but despite my efforts produced no sound.

Everything indicates that the sound card works - volume icon showing on the taskbar, audio tracks showing that 'play' in media player but no sound through the speakers or headphones. All drivers are showing as properly installed and any drivers missing. I uninstalled and reinstalled, is taking the usual power and by removing battery and obvious controls on audio controls (mute etc.)

I would like to get it operational and would be grateful for any help/suggestions.

    Thanks in advance :-)

My A3 sound worked until I did a Windows reinstall. Used dirvers "realtek". Power led on the speaker is on a port audio disconnect/reconnect on the front of the A3 gives a crackle every time so to my way of thinking the sound side should work. Even tried an external sound card.

As the sound was working upward until the reinstallation of Windows, well, I'm no techo by a long shot but he didn't gave me no pleasure that someone else has the same problem and I feel will be the same difficulty.

  • No sound on Tecra S5, "THotkey" error starting Windows XP Home edition

I have a laptop Tecra S5, I deleted some old programs for card readers.
Now, sound does not work and starting the PC, windows starts and I get the message: "Error THotkey" this audio diviece is not supported.

Is it just the audio driver what is missing and how can I reinstall it?

Who knows, what did you do with stuff pre-installed. THotkey has nothing to do with the old programs for card readers, but it is very important tool of Toshiba.

Did do us all first to know what is the status of the sound card in Device Manager. Sound card installed and registered correctly?
