No sound while recording with Windows Vista

Hello!

Thanks in advance for the help!

I have a new 430 of XPS from Dell running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

I try to save and the external audio source (old audio cassettes) using audio recordings of Vista. I am inputing the audio using the socket "line in" on the back of the computer.  The Visual meter shows a signal is present, and I can save, save and playback of the audio file after it is saved.  The problem is that I can't hear any sound when recording from an external audio source.  I check in 'Sounds' in the Panel, and in 'line' monitor shows it receives a signal (and the level is turned up), but nothing is heard in real-time.  No speakers are silent. All the other sounds of the computer, MP3 and CD is heard without difficulty.  When I do a check for speaker under 'Sounds', the speakers work fine.  But I hear no audio registration until after I record the signal.

The computer is only 2 months old, and I've never been able to hear any audio registration in real time.  This isn't something that just stopped working.

I also use Total Recorder 7.1 and I have the same problem.  Total Recorder sees the external audio input signal and saves it.  But I do not what I did until I have read the saved file.  With Windows XP I always heard an external audio input as soon as I plugged the audio source, but so far it does not the same under Vista.

Device Manager tells me that my sound card and driver are operating normally.

Any ideas anyone?  Is there a change in Vista compared to XP?  Have they blocked the monitoring in real time because of some problems of conflicts or comments?  I'm just guessing.

Thank you!!!

Dan

Solution seems to be to disable the integrated sound card and buy a PCI sound card. Good news is that they are cheap.

Just to be sure, it is the last driver I could find at Dell

http://support.us.Dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&CS=04&l=en&s=BSD&ReleaseID=R190321&formatcnt=1&LIBID=0&FILEID=261430

I suspect the integrated sound card is not full duplex or the available driver is unable to drive. The first is my best guess.

So the bottom line is that you need a PCI Full Duplex sound card that works with 64-bit windows. The highest and digital sample rate 24 - bit is better, but I don't know it wouldn't be difficult to exceed the specifications on board. Rob - support element, Cascade Bicycle Club P.O. What kind of microphone will allow me to record an audiobook?

    Sally O

What is the model No. your current Logitech microphone?

If the microphone is analog and uses a standard plug, then drivers for the microphone should not be necessary. It's the drivers for your sound card in your computer that must be compatible with the version of Windows you are using. If you are using a microphone connected USB so it is possible that pilots are required for the microphone too.

    Hello

I have an owner of the M40 motorway m but I didn t install Vista on my laptop.
Why? good Vista needs a lot more material resources like the XP.
In addition many additional applications that are running on my system are not compatible with Vista.
Last but not lease I didn t find the drivers of Toshiba for the M40 on the Web site.

I think that the drivers Vista missing on the page is not a problem serious because important factors as driver graph, sound driver, lan and Wlan driver can be downloaded from the website of chip manufacturing.

Anyway, if you want to install Vista on your M40 I would create an additional partition and install the OS on the second partition.
In this case, you can use the two BONES; XP and Vista.

To my knowledge the Vista installs a clean boot manager and it should be very easy to switch between XP and Vista.

    Best regards

HP pavilion dv6-1030us originally with windows vista 64 bit have now upgraded to windows7 32 bit. MIC is unable to send sound in Skype after upgradation.

    Hello

    Try the following.

First, uninstall Skype and when it is finished, restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, download and reinstall the Chipset driver here.

Once the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

Let windows load completely, then download the installer of IDT Audio on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp45001-45500/sp45044.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery, connect the power adapter and start Notepad.

Let Windows load fully, then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When this has completed, restart the computer again.

Reinstall Skype and see if the MIC now works Ok.

    Kind regards

    Hi dmilten,

In Windows Vista, you can get her out only 'default' and a 'default' endpoint.  Applications can play at all (and output record of any entry), but by default, they will use only 'by default' entry and exit.

Outputs audio multiples are not supported by Windows Vista. It's normal. However, you can contact the manufacturer of the equipment for other possibilities.

    He may want to know:

You can configure your Media Player to play a default device

In Windows Vista, you can configure Windows Media Player to play an audio device specific.  Tools | Options | Devices | Speakers | Properties | Select the audio device you want to play.

  • Installed Windows 7 64 bit - 4 GB / 3 GB usable, whereas with Windows Vista 64-bit - 4 GB usable

    Hello
    I have the Asus N70SV B1.

    Specifications: (http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Multimedia_Entertainment/N70Sv/#specifications)

No problems with Windows Vista 64 bit, recognizing the 4 GB of RAM. After the upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit 4 GB installed / usable RAM problem / 3 gb. I also checked the following.

    1. I am running windows 7 64 bit, NOT 32 bit, I wouldn't be able to run Adobe After Effects® CS5.5 and Adobe first® Pro CS5.5 elsewise.
    2. the unusable 1 GB of RAM is not used by the operating system, it's hardware reserved
    3. the video card Nvidia GT 130 m 1 GB, shouldn't need that RAM - it certainly didn't on the factory installed Windows he dedicated RAM.
    4. I tried disabling and enabling msconfig - boot - Max memory settings, no option solves the problem.
    5. He has no option of memory in the BIOS settings to disable the cache in memory / memory the occultation.

    * I had to use the 64-bit of Windows Vista sound drivers work correctly with Windows 7 64 bit. So I thought that the version of bios or Vista 64 bit can thus solve the problem usable 4 / 3 gb.

    * Yes, I have flashed the bios to Windows Vista 64-bit and that still does not solve the problem. Although the system seems faster, it still shows only 3 GB usable.

There should not be a problem with this bios version seen only with the 64 bit Vista OS recognized all 4 GB.  I am confused and have no idea where to go from here.

    Please help.

  • Conflict with Windows Vista?

Please help me. It's really, really terrible.

    I got a new computer AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual Core x, 2. 4 GHz.
It came with Windows Vista Home Premium.
I installed Adobe Flash Professional 8.

I have Windows XP Home and Flash 8 works fine.

On this computer, ANY movie clip I double-click on that takes f... o... r... e... v... e... r to update the screen. Excruciatingly slow.

If you notice when you double-click on a movieclip that Flash is an animation of a zoom of the dotted box of the clip to make it look as if you zoom in the video - well, I watch this dotted rectangle slowly, slowly expand until it fills the entire screen. Then only, Flash will resume normally. It develops in the slow movements of chunky.

Strangely enough, if I click on a movie clip in the library - no problem. It opens almost immediately.

I tried this with the new files, old files, example files. All the same.

Windows or Flash hate something about this animation "zoom in a clip. He hates backup out of them also. I get the dotted box when I return to the main timeline as well.

It's just catastrophic. There is no way that I can use Flash like this.
    Any suggestion is welcome.

I already stopped each substantive program I thought that is interfering. I already reinstalled. (The uninstall was strangely a lot of time to do its thing.) I have a bad copy?) I kept a CPU meter running while the problem occurred and the processor is not sweating at all. So what's the problem!

I've been a technical support for years, but here, I'm completely at a loss.
And trying to google 'problems flash 8 slow opening video clip' is obviously useless.

    * cry *.

    Thank you.
It seems flash has a problem with Windows Aero effects dual core "machines" or something.
No one has published a fix or even an explanation - really terrible.

for now, the answer seems to be:
    1. make a right click the .exe flash and XP compatibility mode
2 disable the composition of the Bureau on the .exe
