No space is available on the hard disk

How do/peut/must clean up drive C:?

I deleted all the music, photos, videos, documents, games, system, etc. I managed to get rid of anything that might save space on my drive C. I have now only use my pc for Microsoft Word and then I emailed to the doc (s) and print before deleting (not enough space on disk to keep the docs). I always get a message that my hard drive is full. There's nothing on my drive hard drive but that Microsoft Vista has put here...

Ideas: Vista has a mind of your own! I'm not a genius of pc and should not have to be pc to operate.

    Hey Buddy

If you are using Vista, then you should consider that Vista creates an additional partition on the HARD drive.
It s hidden and it contains backup files in order to repair the operating system if something goes wrong.

In addition HARD drive must also contain HARD drive recovery files (image).
These files are required to recover the laptop HARD drive.

So the hidden partition and the recovery of HARD drive that could be the main reason why you noticed smaller amount of space available on the HARD disk

  • Capacity of the hard disk on the Qosmio G20-139

I recently bought the notebook of Toshiba Qosmio g20-139, announced as having an 80 GB hard drive. Check the properties of the drive C: I think capacity is 69.8 GB. And in the properties of the device, it gives the Volume 71547 MB (I presume it's 71,547 GB).

Does anyone can ease my mind explaining to me why I have not been 'ripped off '?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I'm not 100% sure but I think this part of the HARD disk is not partitioned and it comes preinstalled Qosmioplayer. This player doesn't need all the space, but if recording on this drive is available, I presume that this registered program is also recorded on this unpartitioned part.

  • How to develop a player for the virtual server when no more space is available on the data store?

    Hello

    I have a 'vSphere4.1 - Intel"cluster with lots of available data stores.

In this group, I have a virtual server "Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2" with 7 discs, all with the ' base' type in the server disk management. ""

One of the drives needs to be expanded, but in my VMware environment, I noticed that the data with the reader store, cannot be stretched beyond, so I need to take the free space of hard drive to another store of data with free space desired.

    Now to my question:

Can I make a new record in my VMware environment on another data store and fix it on my Windows 2003 Server? - And if so, how do I add the new free space on the server specific hard drive?

    Kind regards

    Carl-Marius

    1. close the virtual machine in question

2 remove the HARD disk that you want to extend

    3. in another data store make folder and move the VM HDD (vmdk) in this folder

    4. now change the settings on the virtual machine, add need HDD now this time, select "use the hard disk" option and point to the VMDK file in the other data store

5 - turn on the virtual machine, check that every thing is okm if ok you can do the HARD disk as dynamic disk is easy to expand

    6. now incerase the VMDK from vsphere client,.

7 now, with the help of utilities such as partition magic or acronis or utility, you can extend the player

  • Equium U400-145 - where is the HARD disk protection tool?

I just bought an Equium U400-145, and in the manual it says there is a Protection of the hard disk utility and properties are accessible from the icon on the toolbar or via the start menu in Toshiba - Utilities.

There is no icon in the toolbar and without Protection of HARD drive in the start menu. Protection disc HARD drivers are on the C: drive, but when I try to install I get a message HDD Protection is not supported on this model. It's strange because the download from Toshiba site lists the Protection drivers from the HARD drive for this model.

Any who have HARD drive Protection works on this model or know if it should work?

I have a U400 to and protection of the HARD drive is not available on all models of laptops U400.
The user manual has been created for all the U400 laptop models and it of possible that your U400 doesn t support this feature!

  • Why the hard disk is divided into partitions of two data (C:Vista and E: Data)?

I just started a new A200-1V0 and found that disk space is divided into two partitions of sizes equal 'C:Vista' and ' E: Data "(and a small one EISA).

WHY? What is the logic and purpose? It's not even as if the C:Vista partition is smaller and intended only to the tricks of the 'system' as the root 'Users' (user Documents) is on it also.

This is the default for Vista (my first use of it), if not, who said that Toshiba could do this without asking me?

How can I move the root 'Users' in Vista (in the data partition) - if I have two partitions that I might as well use it?

I can resize partitions in Vista without a utility 3 rd-party (or a complete backup/restore)?

    Thank you

    Hello just YOU

Please don't be offended because there is no reason for this. You bought the new product with the factory settings. Toshiba and other hardware manufacturer do not know every customer personally and, unfortunately, it was not possible to ask YOU how to set up YOUR laptop.

Because of this, there is a recovery of product support that allows to configure the HARD disk according to your wishes and needs.

Please use this DVD and install OS how you want it to be. What recovery procedure starts, you will see CONFIGURATION option on the right side. Click on it and choose the right option.

Reinstall the OS and enjoy your life. Really, I don't have the time to write on the floors of two partitions, because this is basic stuff and you probably don't want to waste your time to read this.

    Bye and good luck!

    ·        Did you do a clean install of Windows Vista without formatting?

    ·        How many letters pilot are there on the system, for example C:\, D:\?

    ·        The number of records your C:\ drive?

Open C:\ drive and select all the files that are present and check what size is (of all files). Let us know the size.

If you did a clean installation without formatting then, it may be a folder named windows.old. If you have the folder on the system, then follow the steps mentioned in the article below.

  • bad sectors on the hard disk, can't find programs or files

Has worked on my Toshiba laptop and all of a sudden I got these error messages from Windows on bad sectors, cannot find the files...

Well, I am unable to find programs or files... well explore works and it seem like windows must work because the computer starts.  I have

did a scan of spybots and of course we found a few things but that's all.

I had to start a new user account in order to have access to my hard drive and be able to do some repairs... He showed sound quite complete but unable to show all files or these.

Tried a restore back a week, but it did not work.  A check on the hard disk and say he can do so that the system is in use.  I have nothing running!

Don't know what to do next... any suggestions

Thank you for posting a copy of a report of chkdsk on your C partition select Start, run, type "cmd" without the quotes in the box and press ENTER. Type chkdsk, and then press the ENTER key and a report, stating, among other things, a summary of how disk space is used, is provided. If you want a report on a partition or one drive other than C, you need to go to this partition. To access F, where F is the required partition you type F: and press the ENTER key.

Copies of the reports from a command prompt can be tricky. Right click and select mark. This allows to highlight the selected text, and then click on copy. You will then open Word, Notepad or similar file, right click and paste. The selected text transfers your Clipboard to open the file. You can paste directly into a response message to the majority of the forums.

  • I have Vista Home and auto backup and I put in a new DVD-R, even if space is available on the existing DVD

I have Vista Home and auto backup and I put in a new DVD-R, even if space is available on the existing DVD.

This response does not answer your question immediately. Just my suggestion for an alternative...

You lose a lot of time and money ventually, using DVD.

Less than $100 you will get a very good external hard drive, and you can make a backup of files into it.

In the long term, it is less expensive than the purchase of DVDs and a pain to store.

  • Help - need to consolidate the partitions on the hard disk after system recovery

There are 4 partitions on my laptop Lenovo w/Vista. They are the main with the system OS etc. files partition, then an extended 9.7 GB partition labeled volume D: 98 GB of unallocated space and then finally the OEM with the recovery image section. I want to create a partition that is important as the C: volume with all that on it. The only other partition would be the volume of the OEM. Now when I try to use the unallocated space (create a simple volume with quick format) it says the operation cannot be completed because there is not enough space on the hard drive; that cannot be true because the unallocated space is 98 GB +. I got the OS to the factory setting thinking that it would be re - format the hard disk for the installation of 2 original score. No luck. I need help! We cannot add a lot of apps of software in the form of program files before the C: drive runs out of space. Help!

  • When installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system?

Have a Dell system, caught a virus and it has really messed up the PC. Recently, it got worse so I tried to reinstall the operating system with the Dell disks. It wouldn't work. So I bought for Windows 7 Professional, it will not be installed. My first question when installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system? Because this does the same as the Dell disks, is to take what is on the hard drive and put it in a folder called windows old, is not formatting the HD. When I boot the disk, it shows the installation of files then open windows and start the installation. Before he could finish I get an error missing or corrupted files. Tried several times now, windows will still not open. Any suggestions? Once while trying to install the pc crashed with a blue screen which is one of the reasons why I have reinstall the OS, he started to plant a few times. I don't remember all the details on my PC, but its 4 years, triple core coprocessors, ram 8 GB, 500 GB HD. At the same time just after all this started in Jan. I had also improved my 3 GB to 8 GB memory. I bought the Dell memory for my system. Since the crash, could there be a problem with these new memory chips? Last night I tried to disassemble each and reinstalling it, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Before I tried to reinstall the operating system, the pc was see the concert 8.
