No task killer = win

After reading repeated advice to use a task killer, I finally decided to try it. After a week with disabled ATK, I must admit that it is true. My phone works more smooth and the battery lasts longer without the task killer. I was skeptical, since every time I killed tasks, the displayed memory free above ATK would rise and it was a good thing, right? Appearently not. It was finally explained to me that the processor gets run low power to keep these inactive processes just being run, but cycles up to full power to restart the services put to death. This is the info that made me try. But my performance of phones, it's what will make me keep this killer turned off task.

PS: I still use it occasionally to kill an individual application or two that I know is ill-conceived and won't close as it should be, but then I immediately kill the killer of the task itself.

You are absolutely right. My XT battery is very good without a killer get easily 30-40hrs with the right amount of usage. I'm still currently testing this belief with Taskiller I am also running, well Lite Panel System testing. Battery Manager that is filled with this camera is awesome. I've never used ATK. I perfer TaskillerPro.

    Hello

I noticed that since the last software update that my Advanced Task Killer does not work. I'm not breath through my battery.

You must first clear the cache of the system: The Motorola Instructions

What's your battery stats? You can post a screenshot?

If there is a particular application or set of apps caused in trouble, you can clear the app caches and data for applications (which is separated from the cache system, so it should be more for the clearing system cache).

Many users have reported increased with the last update battery usage. Some have found that bluetooth is keep the phone awake without reason. If you are not using bluetooth you can disable it and see if that makes a difference.

Whatever it is, you must uninstall definitely killer task as it is only bad in your phone, performance and autonomy. They have not been needed for a long time (this coming from someone who has the habit of using a religiously).

  • How many of you guys are running a task killer?

I have read from various sources, including this forum a task killer does more harm than good. Is this true?  If so, why they are so popular, and why even the developers do them?  The guys who do not perform a task killer are you the same or the battery life more out of your phone from someone with a task killer?  Do you have experiences less FC as some articles say? Or does not really a diference? I'm running the auto task killer who kills to the task, I said every time I SLEEP the phone.  I don't want to hurt my Droid so I want the truth. Thanks to all those who respond.

  • Task Scheduler, Win Server 2008 - connected or not 2147942403 error

I created a task scheduler with the Security Option to "run if the user is logged in or not."  But he fails even though I am connected with an error value: 2147942403.  If I change the Sec Opt to "Run only when the user is connected", the task will run flawless.

  • Intermittently after the reboot, the option "Hide when minimized" in the Task Manager Win XP is too effective; the CPU usage icon does not appear in the notification area. Sometimes restart heals, sometimes not.

The Options menu of the Windows Task Manager includes "hide when minimzed ', to display an icon in the area of notification, but not on the traskbar. I leave that option checked all the time to control the percentage of processor; but sometimes without apparent cause, after I reboot there is no icon in the area. Is there a way to fix this?

    Hello ronks,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers community.

The reason for which the icon is not in the system tray is because the Task Manager is closed not minimized when you start your computer. To do this, you could do the following:

    -Go to my computer > C: > Windows > System32
    -Locate in Taskmgr
-Create a shortcut > right click on the shortcut > click on cut
-Navigate to my computer > C: > Documents and Settings > username (your username) > Start Menu > programs > startup
    -Paste in the startup folder

-Right click on the shortcut > click Properties
-Less run > pull down the menu and select Minimized > click OK > close window

Now every time that you restart the Task Manager will be launched in a minimized state.

    Hope this helps Chris.H

There is no Win XP Modem drivers on the Toshiba Page for this model, but I solved this problem by myself.

No idea what to do now?

  • Error reading DAQmx multichannel. DAQmx believes that there are several channels in my task.

    Hello

I get the error message added when you try to use my VI DAQmx Read.  LabVIEW tells me that I'm trying to read a single channel when my task is configured for multiple channels.  However, as you can see in the task panel, this is not the case!  If I try to use DAQmx Read to generate a waveform with many channels, the VI runs without error, but I don't want a picture of waveform 1 d...  Any tips?

    Kind regards

    Steve

Without seeing the code all I can offer only a possibility.

Something else in your code is changing the task of wine and let the reference.  Wine is then stored with many channels, but these changes are not saved to the MAX which means that when the task in this section of code is not identical to the task UP.  Hit a knot DAQmx task over there and read 'Channels' to confirm my suspicions

  • How core win xp 32 processor can support

I want to know how many core and processor physical Win XP 32 bit can support

I have machine that shows 6 processor in task manager Win XP 32 bit can have the ability to use 6 processors

Any version of Windows has a base limit, but some do not have a CPU limit. If your copy of Windows is supported only one processor, you can install and use only one, but it will use as many hearts are present in a single processor.  Of course, the problem is that Windows XP is not born with a platform multi-threaded hardware in mind so it does not handle many kernels and newer versions of Windows do.

  • Problem to stop the task of continuous using API C DAQMx data acquisition

I'm doing the acquisition of data in the PCIe-6536 continuously using DAQMx C API. But whenever I try to erase the task and put end to my application, program stops and it is not completed by the Task Manager and task killer applications. Can someone help me with this?

    Sameer

    Hi John,.

Thank you for your concerns. the example attached also created the same problem. Then I run the test of the device to the MAX and it failed. Then I realized that there is something wrong with the installation. I simply uninstalled the card and installed on the other PCI-e slot. This time, self test has been successful and so did my request.

So my problem has been resolved

Again thank you for your quick response.

  • Firefox Mobile - can't get the Start Page to load

For the life of me, I can't not my selected 'Start Page', any option to choose to load at startup of firefox.

Regardless of the option that I get, "Firefox Start", "Current Page", "Custom" Page, it always starts with the last tab, I have seen in the previous session.

I close firefox using Advanced Task Killer. Restart it, see the "loading" screen and it just goes to the last page I was on.

    It drives me crazy!

To force Firefox to display your home page at startup:

    1. Type "subject: config" in the address bar, then press Enter/Go on your keyboard
    2. Search for "crash."
    3. Tap "browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash.
    4. Press the button to change from "true" to "false".
  • Portable - BackUp Drivers and software preintalled

Hi all! It's my first time here, so I don't know much about how to make questions.

The thing is that I have a Pavilion dm4-3055dx and I need to install Ubuntu on it, but the problem is that my hard drive is dynamic and because of that, I can't do a dual boot, so I probably need to format my HARD drive to do it (and I'm having some problems with Windows 7 so I plan to do a clean installation of Windows 7 or 8.1).

The problem is that if I format my laptop I'm losing drivers and all software there (HP Support Assistant, HP Cool sense, HP Power Manager, HP SimplePass 2012, Beats Audio Control Panel, Synaptics Touchpad v8.0, QuickWeb, etc.), so I would like to know if there is a way to make a backup or be able to install them again after I format my laptop and do a clean install of Windows?

I also want to know if these also affects the BIOS updates?

Note: I can't make a recovery disk because I have problems with him, sometimes it is not recognized the media and other times it fails after the first DVD.

Sorry if I made a mistake, English is not my native language

On the backup of all your data, you can still use the system restore Image by accessing:

Start-> Control Panel-> system and security-> Restore Files-> Create System Image

You said that you were unable to write DVD but maybe you can use an external HARD drive to backup all your files, but you may need to check if this is possible since some system data may be compromised as you said your operating system does not work as expected.

ID is recommended to backup all your important data such as documents on a USB stick also just to make sure that you will be able to recover your system image after format you your laptop.

EDIT: I forgot to add that you can download all the drivers you need from this link:

  • Qosmio X 500-148 - large file copy stucks

Copying large files (about 5-10 GB) between USB or Firewire drive stucks the PC. It goes up to 50% then slows down and there is no possibility to do anything, including cancel them the task or open the browser or a Manager task or WIn Explorer.
The event viewer does not show something strange.

This only happens with Windows 7 64 bit, no problem with Windows 7 32 bit (same external hardware). No problem when copying between disc internal PC.

    Hi eferradino,

Have you also tried the same thing with the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba?

I always use the version preinstalled Windows of Toshiba and never had any problems with it. I have some software that I need not remove it as a trial version of the office, etc.

So to use the Toshiba recovery disc and test it again.

If the problem occurs only with a Windows installation only, it s seems to be related to the driver or the software.

  • Wallpaper direct question?

Hey there ' All, I seem to have a problem with my Live Wallpaper stock, back to wallpapers of stock "brick." This happens after about 5 minutes to put the live wallpaper. My Advanced Task Killer do not even list as an app, so I know this isn't the ATK killing wallpaper.

Anyone experience this problem or you have any ideas to fix this? Thank you!

    TR

Okay, figured it out! Feel like a dummy now! But for someone else who encounters this problem in the future, make sure that 'Live Wallpapers' are not on the list 'End' on the 'Task Manager'.
