«No VIBs specified with - n /-vibname or v - /-viburl.» When you try to install OMSA VIB

Hi all!

I try to install OpenManage Server Administrator Dell by using ESXCLI. I downloaded the file "OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-6.5.0-542907.VIB-ESX50i_A02.zip" and copied on a datastore iscsi that my host is config would be with. I'm also using vcenter. I am using the following command to install the vib:

vCenter IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Host IP: .yyy

name of the data store: datastore

esxcli - server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - software h.yyy vib install [datastore]/VIBS/OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-6.5.0-542907.VIB-ESX50i_A02.zip d

When I run the command, I get the following message:

[No VIBs specified with n /-vibname or v - /-viburl.]
Please see the log file for more details].

When I run the command 'software list vib', I get results, so I'm sure that his connection to the host properly.

Any who can shed light as to why the installer is not work/how to make it to work?

Thank you!

-Brent

You can enable SSH and access it that way, or just get on the local console of the ESXi host and activate the ESXi shell in the DCUI troubleshooting section. F2 will enter you the DCUI, then make the change and press ALT + F1 to switch on the Shell of ESXi. You will need to connect to the ESXi host and you can then run the esxcli command. When type out and then press ALT + F2 and turn ESXi Shell go back.
