No video on mpg not files Media Player in WIndows 8.

I have video files that have been converted to another format mpg. They play perfectly on my WIndows 7 PC. I use WMP and Movie Maker. I have a new PC with Windows 8. In one of these programs the videos play sound only. No error message. Do not know if I am missing a CODEC or all that. Any thoughts?

It did not work for my case.   I ended up having to upgrade to the "Media Center" edition and then everything worked fine.    It was an extra $ 9.00.   I guess that some people do not use Media Player, it is decided that out of the packaging.

  • Do not have media player.

    Original title:

    Running windows 7 64 bit

Do not have media player. Can't see a reason why not that it is supposed to come with installed WMP. Can't seem to download WMP either, even if a window has suggested that v11 is not eligible for my version, but then wouldn't download the version that he finally recommended

WMP is included in all editions of Windows 7, but is not activated [ready to use fact] for Pro / Ultimate Editions.  I guess you must have one of these editions.

In all editions, this is the same WMP version 12.  WMP11 is not compatible with Windows 7 The following two procedures apply to all editions of Windows 7 and are not destructive - nothing is installed or uninstalled.

1 to enable WMP12 in any Windows 7 Edition:- Control Panel, [view by - small icons, if necessary], programs and features, [left] Windows enable or disable features, multimedia features, set the check box, Windows Media Player , Yes, OK, Restart the PC.  It is now available for use [and will remain so despite reboots, etc.].

2 on the other hand, if you have always wanted to turn off:- Control Panel, [view by - small icons, if necessary], programs and features, [left] Windows enable or disable features, multimedia features, clear the check box, Windows Media Player , Yes, OK, Restart the PC.

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The above applies to the normal versions of Windows 7.  If you have a regional special versions KN/K/N, then use this link WMP for editions N-K-KN - download Media Feature Pack - Microsoft Download Center [this download does not work for the normal versions, i.e. those delivered with already included WMP].

  • Media player in windows 7 is marked for a few videos (audio continues)

    Hello

I m using windows7 and my Media Player is getting hit while playing a 1080 p video. The image struck while the audio is fine.

How can I solve this problem?

What type of hardware you have, esp CPU, GPU and Ram?

Some low spec material that is generally a netbook or an old PC may struggle to play 1080 p video, esp if it plays standard definition or even 720 p OK videos.

If you have a suitable hardware, make sure that your graphics card drivers are up to date with the latest version available for your make and model of PC from the manufacturer support site.

If they are up to date, try to uninstall, restart the PC and reinstall WMP to see if that helps - http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/26107/how-to-reinstall-windows-media-player-in-windows-7-to-solve-problems/ (assuming you are using WMP12?).

    Hi Michael,

The Player library is a database that includes links to digital media files on your computer. Among other reasons, you cannot move the Player library from one computer to another, because the links in the database would be more correct.
