Non-recovery

I just got a refurbished Sansa connect. When I tried to download the music from WMP 11, it froze at 31 songs and said that he needed to recover, so I downloaded the recovery tool. It goes through the motions but quits (fails) when it supposed to receive the software. All this shows is the necessary recovery screen. Jr

My computer recognizes that a PSG says that it cannot open (code.10). I tried to enter the codes you gave me, but the computer won't recognize them, saying: there is no recognizable internal or external file. John (non-techie)

  • Need an instalation own Vista - no recovery disc

    Hello

Short version: I would like to have a clean install of Vista Business disc, not only the recovery media. I paid for the license (supplied with the notebook), and Microsoft has confirmed that I am entitled to it. But it is supposed to be provided by Toshiba. I contacted the store where I bought my laptop - they refused!

Long version: I have problems installing updates for Vista on my laptop (Dungeon errors). I contacted the technical support from Microsoft, we have tried to implement everything, but he only worse (got blue screen several times, lost her!). The last option they offered was to do an Inplace upgrade. To do that I need the installation media for Vista. I don't want to (and can not) format the hard drive around and lost all my data. As I said, Microsoft has confirmed that I have the right to have the installation disc, but my store doesn't provide me with one. Such a drive will be useful also later - I don't want to format all partitions on every time that something goes wrong with Vista.

Can you please tell how to get the disc?

Two questions: 1. If I get the installation disk, the recovery media works as well? I want both, just in case where...
    2. what happens if I download the operating system, somewhere on the internet (just to make this direct upgrade)? Would this work? If I can download any version or should it be i.e. OEM version?

I'd appreciate any help really. The system becomes worse and worse.

    Thank you!

    Hello

of course, they refused. It does not matter what you told Microsoft. They are only the manufacturer of software and they sell the license to Toshiba that sells for you when you buy a machine of Tosh.

Thus, they also offer an operating system OEM preinstalled, which applies to the license on your machine, but only to this recovery. This is called licensing.
Never heard of him? -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/License
Or heard talk of OEM? -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Original_equipment_manufacturer (Please read the text with the title "Operating systems")

So, you think Toshiba owes you a disc of original and authentic of the operating system that was preinstalled on your system?

No, negative. They don t. And you won´t get a disk, it is a fact, because you ALREADY HAVE a DRIVE WITH a WORKING OPERATING SYSTEM.

If you want to have a system to obtain another copy of Windows Vista with it s license and install this. The recovery works by the way, no matter if you install Linux, MacOS or Windows of non-recovery.

    Welcome them

  • Aktivating preinstalled Windows 8.1

    Hello
    I bought a new laptop (https://www.toshiba.de/innovation/jsp/supportMyProduct.do?service=DE#tab0;)
There are 2-3 weeks. First of all, everything was fine. But then a few days ago Windows 8.1 startet to panic. Many functions no longer works:
could not activate firewall nor Defender
could not change the settings sometimes
could not update or reinstall Windows
    ... and so on

So I decided to "repair/reinstall" Windows with the CD of my friend because there is no CD of toshiba when I bought the laptop. After that, all the problems have been resolved, except the activation problem. This time I finally got an error code: 0xC004C003. Which means that my key was probably has been blocked all the time. How can this be?

I discovered that the CD of my friend's Windows Pro and I think that I only had normal Windows. But why it does not work until I "fixed" my PC with the CD Pro "wrong" to Windows? Why Windows wanted me aktivate Windows suddenly out of nothing? I tried to get a correct Toshiba Recovery CD, but it's quite expensive (around 40 euros!) and I don't think that it can fix my problem.

Each new book offered with Windows preinstalled is actually pre-installed with recovery image designed for certain model of laptop. Recovery image is software which includes the Windows operating system, all necessary drivers, Toshiba specific tools/utilities and a few software additional.
This preinstalled recovery image is also saved on the HARD drive as back-up that allows that you said HARD recovery disk image installation in case where there is a problem with OS preinstalled that you got with your machine. Each owner of the laptop can also create recovery media (USB or DVD) using of preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Media Creator. This recovery media can also be used for the recovery image installation if the installation of HARD drive recovery unbootable, or in case when the HARD disk is damaged and must be replaced. This is described in the paper manuals user s. I guess you were not informed on this subject and you didn't create this recovery media. For about 5 years, Toshiba does not provide records of installation with new laptops. Recovery media must be created by the owner of the laptop.

Please note: original recovery image should not be enabled. You can install it 1000 times and each time after the first connection to the internet OS will be activated automatically.

After the clean operating system installation (installation of non-recovery media) you will not be able to install the recovery image using disk HARD recovery option. It works with the factory only settings.

    You now have two options:
1 / to order the original installation disc of recovery and install the original recovery image that should NOT be enabled
2 / to install Windows using another media, but then you have to pay for valid license code

In my opinion best solution for you is to have the order image backup and recovery by Toshiba recovery disc.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Recovery disk works with a disc hard non-toshiba?

Hello, my hard drive gave me a couple of days, and I was wondering if I put a new drive hard non-toshiba in my satellite pro L10 would work the recovery disc again correctly or it will have to be the exact same hard drive that the laptop came with?

    Thank you

    James

    Hello

If the BIOS will recognize the new HARD drive, I see no reason why the recovery CD should not be run
But before you start the installation from the recovery CD, you need to format the HARD drive. You can use the original Windows XP CD for formatting the HARD drive!

  • None of the recovery disc for dv7-1000.

Unfortuantely my Vista OS is corrupt enough that I can not burn a DVD or CD or internal use and a new USB optical drive.  So, I have none of the recovery disks.  The recovery provided on the HARD drive partition appears to be intact - is it possible for a system recovery - reinstall directly form the partition on the HARD disk without recovery DVD?

    Thank you, Nigel

    Hi Nigel,

I never heard talk of an account is created with a password already together for this - but the following can help to remove.

Download the ISO on the following link.

    PC login now

Once downloaded, use a program such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD.  A guide on how to use it is on the link below.

    PC connection Guide now

Insert the CD into your PC, you cannot connect to and restart to boot from the disc.

I hope that this should simply remove your password altogether, so you can configure then comes a new.

There is only one possibility to install Vista on the 153 GB partition - with the HARD drive format and make new partitions.
Beacause I did my own partitions, I don't whant to remove, it is also important to back up data.

Please inform me how active settings.
I know it's possible - I also use Satellite P100-387. The use of disk Recoevery the settings button is avaiable.

    > There is only one possibility to install Vista on the 153 GB partition - with the HARD drive format and make new partitions.

The recovery procedure will format the HARD drive and erase everything from the HARD drive.
It is not possible to change the settings and to recover the operating system on a certain partition s.

The quick recovery procedure that contains Win XP was different and it was possible to retrieve only one partition but don't use do not Vista.

  • Vista with XP Downgrade and none of the recovery disks - how to create recovery discs?

Interesting - I also bought the Windows Vista Business (sticker that says so on the bottom of the T61) with the pre-load downgrade to Windows XP Professional.

Recovery of product, I created discs, that the OP was advised, but did not notice any indication during the process of creating it was for Windows XP Professional which was preinstalled, the Windows Vista Professional (which is allowed and has a sticker on the bottom of the T61), or both. Anyone know?

And if it's only for XP, so how can I get Windows Vista Business media to which the licence applies?

  • None of my USB ports on xp works, recently made full recovery.

Please help, none of my USB ports work, on the front or the back of the CPU.  They stopped working after a full restore, I don't really know why.  I tried to uninstall and leave is but it does not work, he finds the root hub, then a message appears saying: it has not been tested by windows, then if I press continue despite any another message comes up saying I need seehcri.sys disk installation, so I can't install the root hub.  I tried rolling back the drivers, can not do.  I noticed other people of the probs with pc suite of Sony ericcson, so I tried the advice they have given, such as the removal of all this, I did a search on the start menu, and no seehcri were found.  Can someone help please, I'm desperate!

    Hello

seehcri.sys is a driver of Sony Ericsson.

1 rolling back the drivers on ALL of the hubs USB which showed they used Sony Ericsson drivers (Device Manager > expand Bus USB Controllers > right click on USB root hub > properties)

2 uninstall the SEEHCRI devices by selecting the option remove device driver software (or words to that effect)

    3. then go to your Windows\System32 folder and delete the SEEHCRI. SYS file.

    4. reboot, Windows will detect new hardware and 2 SEEHCRI devices will return to normal USB hubs when you allow Windows looking for new drivers.

If you cannot roll back the drivers in step 1, or Windows does not find the drivers in step 4, you will need to reinstall them from the original motherboard driver disk for your computer or on the manufacturer's website.

  • System hangs after that make a non-destructive system recovery tools CD via recovery

I have an old hp pavilion model #370n office. I was reading my email on AOL. I received an email, supposedly at the post office, saying: I got an undeliverable package, and he gave me an identification number. When I downloaded the attachment (stupidly!) it was a virus. I don't know what damage has been done, also, I tried to run a full scan of the system using Microsoft Security essentials. Stop scanning during the process, and messages came to to talk me about viruses, I had, and I had to buy this antivirus program! Well, I knew it was a scam, so I shut down the computer and decided that I had to do a system recovery.

I inserted the CD of recovery tools, ran recovery and was informed the finished collection! So, I removed the CD, allowing the program to start. However, it would not start, because I got a message on SETUP. Res. With the message; Failed to install C:\hp\bin\SetRes.log. then, I pressed OK and I got the hourglass occupied, but nothing happens! The system just stops! Can someone help me solve this problem? Because I am unable to use the desktop, unless I can get this resolved. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hello

Method 1: Perform a parallel Installation:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/978307

Please click on the above link and follow the steps in the "method 4: install Windows XP to a new folder (parallel installation).

Note: This could result in a loss of data on your computer; It is recommended that you back up all important data on the computer before performing this operation.

Method 2: Please contact hp support as recovery disks provided by them. They would have the best idea to read the log file (C:\hp\bin\SetRes.log) of the failure and get it recovered. You can also ask them to restore your system to factory settings.

  • Computer needs a new recovery disk, but none is available.

Our computer (desktop Compaq Presario SR2010NX PC) was recently taken to Best Buy to get fixed because the computer does not illuminate. They told us that he had to use the recovery for Windows Xp home edition disk to repair the computer. We have not and we cannot find them online. However, I have a new copy of Windows 7 and a recovery for Windows XP to another computer disc. I was wondering if I'm unable to find a recovery for this specific pc disk could I just use the Windows 7 disc or a disc of recovery for another computer.

According to specifications, your computer will only support Windows 7 32-bit and most likely will not support Windows 7 64-bit at all. To fully support Windows 7 32-bit will require some hardware upgrades. Using another computer recovery discs is also in contrast to work. Recovery discs again to check the motherboard of the computer and hard drive to match the information before proceeding with the recovery of the computer.

You can buy recovery discs for your computer from ComputerSurgeons.com for about $27

  • Windows recovery on a non-windows operating system

In early 2014, I bought a new Toshiba Satellite A7200 P75 (10/10 would buy once again). For about a month, I used the system with Win 8, that is very unhappy with her and Metro impulsively, I made the decision to completely remove Windows 8 and installed Linux Mint. However, I have created a system image and a recovery disk, now a year later I want to restore my system where it was when the image was created and go back to Windows as my main OS. Is this possible? I have scoured the internet for days and have not found a solution for restoring on a Ubuntu based OS. I used the most recent updates to win 8 and I am impressed and would go back (again). Any help would be appreciated, soon.

    Hello

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

I can understand that you want to recover your windows 8 operating system of Linux operating system using recovery media.

As you have a backup of recovery of Windows 8 with you, I suggest you follow the steps indicated by Andre Da Costa on August 12, from the link given below to recover windows 8:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_8-windows_install/how-to-restore-system-to-an-system-image-in/3a84679e-4AAE-4F4B-88ac-678a45ca4098

Note: Before attempting to restore window 8, I suggest you make a backup of all important data from your Linux operating system.

I hope this helps. Let us know the result.
