  • error message trying to reinstall Java. tells me that the windows installer is missing a DLL error #1723

    My Java file must have been corrupted, but all of a sudden I can't play.  I have uninstall and when I try to reinstall I get afficherapres message "#1723 that there is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your provider staff or the support package!

    I also received his message - Launch4j - makes registry reference to a nonexistent Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted.  The system cannot find the path specified

    Help!  I tried to download the version of Windows Installer 4.5, but the website tells me that I don't need. I thought that the download would overwrite what is installed on my computer and load the missing file!

    Not sure if it is a Java problem, a problem Windows or Firefox...

    I've corrected the Launch4J message by changing the values of JavaSoft registry keys:

    Start RegEdit
    Open this key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Development Kit
    Expand void keys and change all values your current value of JAVA_HOME JavaHome.

    If you have installed the Java SDK in C:\Program Files\Oracle\6 then use this value "C:\Program Files\Oracle\6".
    If you have installed Java Runtime Environment in the C:\Program JRE, then use the value "C:\Program JRE.

    You might be able to open a DOS command window and run this command to find the current path of Java:
    JAVA_HOME %Echo%

    Recently, I updated my windows 8. (a day and a half)

    Today I was moving the content in the folder windows.old to the other locations, (4 ~ 5 h ago)

    Suddenly, after the computer has restarted, the content in the windows.old folder disappeared except for users and windows folders.

    I copy the files from windows.old/Program files and I don't know that I do not delete the folder by myself.

    I read previous posting on similar problems, but that's because they kept their too long files or their disk space was not enough.

    But I have enough space in my C drive and just refreshed 1 ~ 2 days ago.

    I did not drive or any cleaning that is.

    It is unreasonable to a system to remove the backup files after a few days without noticing.

    Please let me know how to solve this problem and to recover these files.

    There are a lot of files in the previous program files, I need to recover the precious.

    I can understand the importance of data could be in the Windows.old folder and we regret the inconvenience.

    Yes, Windows 8 has a new timer feature which will automatically delete Windows.old files after a period of 4 weeks since the upgrade. The idea is to avoid the waste of space giving you plenty of time to get what you need out of the folder and delete those that sit for months or even years.

    Since it's just been 1-2 days of update process, you can activate the "hidden objects" to see if the Windows.old files appear.

    As you open the file Explorer, click view and check the hidden items

    In addition, if you use third-party antivirus program control the log of activities see if there is any action taken at the time where the files have disappeared.  Most of the antivirus program automatically deletes the default files. You can change these settings, however, it is not recommended.

    Check the history of Windows Defender:

  • Migration has erased my Adobe CS5 and now the serial numbers does not work to reinstall

    CS5 Web Premium worked fine on El Capitan until I migrated.  Then he gave me the screen to enter the serial number of my product or purchase.  I entered the serial number and he said that it was not valid for this product.

    I spoke with a representative of Adobe yesterday who gave me a link to download the suite again and use my serial number to activate.  I downloaded it 5 times and every time it says installation file is corrupt and eject the disc.

    I spoke with a representative of Adobe a few minutes ago and he informed me that I can't contact a representative directly on my problem and I had to come here to get answers.

    Remarkable software.  Questionable tech support up to this point.

    Does anyone know how can I do in order to get CS5 running again?

    Just bought a LaserJet MFP M127fw Pro and having, I think, connection problems.

    A lot of net traffic, but nothing is ever done. I was wondering if the windows firewall is keeps something.

    Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.  I understand that you can not connect to web services on your LaserJet Pro M127fw printer.

    Please define Manual of the printer an IP address manually and DNS servers.  The steps on how to proceed can be found as "three Solution: the printer of the assign a static IP address" in the document of printer is not maintaining the wireless connection .  For the DNS primary please use 209.244.0.3 and auxiliary DNS, use 209.244.0.4.  These are public DNS servers of Level3.

  • Windows connection problems and "Windows could not log in the Windows Event Service.

    September 14, 2014, I installed the hotfix for Windows (KB2590550).

    When I try to log on to a standard user account (not Admin), I would get an error that might say something like "Windows could not connect to the Windows Service Service event".  I click OK and then get a totally blank screen showing on the arrow of the mouse (which can be moved).

    Around this same time, when I was able to connect, I got a "not genuine Windows" pop up.  My windows 7 came factory-installed by Dell (Dec. 2011) and I got no re-imaging, re - install or repair since I got the computer.  I've also been running Symantec Endpoint Protection (version DoD) for 2011 as well.

    When I login as administrator (different account), I get an error "Failed to connect to the Windows Event Service" or something like it in a control bar bubble popup.

    I studied the Knowledge Base, and he said to apply the patch to KB2590550.

    Since then, the question is still common and works (sometimes) when I reset the password for the standard user.  In addition, all updates of the operating system, patches, etc. have failed since then.

    Now, I get occasional blue screens immediately as windows starts to load (just after the initial windows graphics) which triggers a reboot.

    Service Pack 1 is installed.

    The sfc/scannow (System File Checker) command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

    We can check & repair missing and corrupt files by the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

    1. Go to Start, click all programs and open the Accessories.
    2. Right-click on command prompt in the list programs, and then select run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click OK.

    Called Adobe to buy Creative CS6 (and Web) Suite Premium upgrade. (Dec 4th, 2011)

    Has been sold the upgrade of the suite Production. Sigh. Bad product.

    An agent of conversation online Adobe fixed: it has enabled my CS6 Suite, I downloaded, for the second time. He did not fix/update serial in my account numbers, which were, again, are the Production serial numbers. I don't have or use the rest of the Production.

    The conversation send agent and I aircraft was trashed by gmail (my e-mail account) a month go, since the issue was considered solved by me, since Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign are works very well: enabled... no bugs.

    I opened Dreamweaver today, for the first time since the upgrade. It will not activate using serial upgrade Production numbers - which are still in my account, and who are the only serial numbers that I have.

    Adobe offers no telephone support on the Creative Suites.

    It's a costly, interesting choice.

    I just spent an hour and a half to go round and round with an online agent Adobe, which may or may not have English as their first language - either I've lost my mind (I definitely lost my patience, even as Canadian born :) and have not developed the ability to explain the situation.)

    No, it's not a cloud product/upgrade to level. I can't the case of the cloud again. Old school upgrade, have owned a CS since the product was introduced.

    Really not impressed with the service on this last update. I need a cocktail. It's Friday, and I'm not going to get that 1.5 hours return in another way.
