NOR-Fieldpoint supported in Windows 7 and LabView 8.6

We have a 'classic' with an ethernet controller FieldPoint system. We want to be able to read/write from/to the FieldPoint network using a computer with LabView 8.6 and Windows 7. NOR-FieldPoint is supported in LabView 8.6 and Windows 7?

Kind regards

Nate

Hi natewkidd,

I feel like some confusion between the operating systems running on a development computer (as Windows 7) and real-time operating systems that run on our real time (such as the PS-2000) controllers. I will do my best to clear up this confusion first answering your questions.

(1) what is the difference between 2009 LabView real-time and LabView 2009?

LabVIEW Real-time 2009 is actually a software officially known as 2009 LabVIEW Real-time which is installed after the LabVIEW 2009 development software to allow the user to develop and deploy applications in real time on targets in real time as your PS-2000. You can consider the LabVIEW Real-time 2009 almost as a plug-in for LabVIEW 2009 deployment and development of real-time applications.

(2) if I have a PS-2000 on the ethernet network and to use a computer that is running Windows 7 and LabView 2009 for record and display data, will I still be able to communicate with the network FieldPoint screws write FieldPoint to my Windows 7 computer?

If you go just to use the PS-2000 as a network module (NOT to deploy a real-time application to run on the PS 2000 itself), you should be able to communicate with him using just the read/write FieldPoint screw on your Windows 7 with LabVIEW 2009 machine and the driver NOR-FieldPoint 6.0.5. In this case, you actually do not need the Module Time since you do not deploy the application to the target in real time.

About the PS-2000 unsupported beyond LabVIEW 8.5.1, is because the controller's memory is not large enough to hold the software that is installed on the controller with LabVIEW 8.6.x Module real-time and LabVIEW Real-time Module 2009. For more information on this, you can check this knowledge base article.

I hope it's useful! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Even if Verizon was working on a fix - it would be a matter of Verizon.  At Verizon, he has not broken - just, they do not offer the service.

Your options are to use a different email client, webmail, or get an e-mail service provider that does not have the same limitiation.  There's a reason many people have Google and Hotmail/Outlook.com e-mail accounts.  A good thing about to get something like one of these: If you change internet service providers - just email continues to work.

  • Windows 8 and Labview FPGA 2013

I installed Labview 2013 including the suite of FPGA design on a host Windows 8 (x 64). I was surprised to see Windows 8 on supported OS list that I did not know until this day no further action taken design Xilinx support Windows 8.

But as a question of fact, that he did not long until I hit:

ERROR: Failure of Simulator: 861 - link design

following this tutorial by clicking the syntax check (using one of the files provided with the tutorial VHDL). The error is clearly linked to a lack of compatibility of Windows 8 from XIlinx running under Tools. Is there a known workaround solution? Thank you.

Unfortunately, you cannot compile the code on a Windows 8 FPGA Xilinx still not having this compatibility. The KnolwedgeBase article describes it. There is also a link in this article to another article that describes how to compile your code on a remote computer. This is the preferred method to compile when you have a Windows 8.

  • Vista > iTunes Windows 7 and migration

Hello, first time poster.  I had an older iPad where I got my music on a laptop running Vista.  More recently, I got a new iPad 2 air.  I still had my music on the laptop for a while.  However, in the last two months, this capability was broken.  The version of iTunes on the laptop is 12.1.27.  I can use this version of iTunes to manage the music on the laptop of course, but when I plug the new iPad 2 Air it says "the iPad is unusable because it requires a newer version of iTunes.  «On itunes and download»  I'll download it and the link specifically says that I get iTunes 12.3.3 for Windows XP and Vista.  So it should be good.  However, when I install it says "iTunes requires that your computer is running Windows 7 or newer.

I also don't seem to be able to migrate this iTunes on my Windows 7 (12.3.2.35) desktop configuration.  On the Windows 7 Desktop, I certainly can't change the song information and perform basic tasks.  Also, I can't seem to even add music to iPad 2 air, but I don't know because I can't sort the music for iPad on the iTunes for Windows 7.  The iTunes on my desktop Windows 7 also has other music files detected, it lacks most of the music on my laptop.  Of course, I don't want to spend weeks to make some kind of manual cross-checking one by one all of the databases involved and trying to get my computer to look just like the laptop.  There must be some kind of clever way to migrate here.  In particular why iTunes 12.3.3 for Windows XP and Vista would give such a message of error?  I am on iOS 9.3.1.  Thanks in advance.

Update from Apple system is broken in that it offers 12.3.3 as valid version on Windows XP and Vista.  Support for Windows Vista (and XP) was abandoned when Apple iTunes 12.2 released last year.  The latest (and certainly last) version in support of Vista is 12.1.3.6 - this is an out-of-sequence of September 2015 version that adds support for iOS devices 9, but has no music to Apple and other features added in iTunes, 12.2 and 12.3.  Links for installers:

The last of them is actually (as well as all editions of '64-bit' iTunes before 12.1.2) 32-bit application with a 64-bit Installer - this should be used if you get a warning message about the incompatibility of the video card and can also send questions with bad audio playback, integration with 3rd party software and the overall stability of iTunes.  However, f you only need to migrate the library from Vista to Windows 7, you do not need to update the software on the laptop.

To transfer your library of the Vista desktop from Win7 laptop, you must copy the complete library from the first to the last.  To do this with iTunes does not not on a system.  If you follow default iTunes, source on the laptop folder is C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes - according to the size, you can copy it to a network using a USB key, or a disc hard external., this folder and all its contents should be copied in C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes on the desktop (you can also access it as C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes).  If you have not added new media to the desktop, you can simply replace all content existing there.  Then launch iTunes on the desktop and you should find your entire library restored for you.  Because this method transfers the iTunes as well as your media database, it has the added benefit that your iDevices will see this as 'the same' library, so you will have no problems with the content being removed from the iDevice when you synchronize.

Once everything is copied, and you have verified the results, and if you don't plan to use the laptop Vista with iTunes again, make sure that remove you your Apple ID on this machine.

The following links provide more information:

    • How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support - it's the 'official' documentation of the migration process
    • Make a library of portable split - steps that may be needed to bring the library on your laptop in the layout that makes it easy to migrate (applies only if you have media files outside of the standard folders iTunes Media or other changes made to the default functions of iTunes)
    • Backup your iTunes for Windows with SyncToy library - medium recommended for the copy of your library to/from an external drive with a tool. s more reliable that the standard copy of Windows works (particularly relevant if you have a large library).  The same method can be used to create and maintain a backup of your iTunes library - something you should do frequently.
  • 8 64-bit Windows minimize and maximize Windows Windows

We have upgraded to Windows 8 64-bit and labview 12 64-bit here at work.

One of the programs that I wrote with an example that I found on the OR on board is no longer works.

We used to have windows XP 32-bit.

I used to be able to give a name of window such as Notepad (or any window of Windows) and I was able to minimize or maximize it as needed.

So once we have upgraded to Windows 8 and Labview 12 64 bit is no longer works.

Someone at - there an example I can look at who will work with Labview 12 64 bit?

    Thank you Rick.

I went into Windows 8 and adjust the properties of my program.

Now, he is running in compatibility mode with Windows XP.

    It works without any problem.

I guess that sometimes the simple answers are the best.

    Photoshop cs5 is designed to:

    Windows XP with SP3

Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Ultimate or enterprise with SP 1 (P2 S recommended)

    Windows 7

    Photoshop cs6 is designed to:

Processor Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon 64

Windows XP with SP3 or Windows 7 with SP1

CS6 applications support also Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.

    * Video features are not supported on 32-bit Windows systems.

    * 3D features are disabled and some features of mercury from the improved graphics engine may not work with less than 512 MB of VRAM. Read the Help section.

If you just buy CS6, you might be able to get a refund, but Adobe sells more software CS5. Is it possible to upgrade your computer to make it compatible? Here are the system requirements for photoshop:

  • Problem with window painted and scrollbars when editing (LabVIEW 8.0.1)

I'm under LabVIEW 8.0.1 in Windows XP SP3.  For my main VI, I came across a strange problem about 5 months ago.  The front window - both in edit mode and run mode - arrested repaint itself on the right side which is no longer visible when you scroll from top to bottom, but also visible overlapping Windows.  Coinciding with the repaint problem, both bars scroll search disabled grey arrows and no boxes in the bars that you can click and drag to scroll the window.  The scroll bars work still partially if you pass the mouse over it and roll the mouse wheel but does not work by clicking and dragging.

The façade has a lot of controls and indicators, including containers of tab control and is greater in the horizontal directions and vertical so the two scroll bars must be active.  But I deleted everything in the Panel before and everything in the schema and the problem persists.  If the problem is not directly related to a control/led display.

I saved the simple VI to this problem (using a line of large text and a high box rounded to test), and then created a new VI and copied the two elements at the new VI.  This new VI didn't paint it and the problem of the scroll bar.  The two screws are slightly different in the memory usage and the revision number (bad is review 1785 and the good is revision 3), but otherwise the two screws are identical.  I have attached two screws at this announcement.  When you first open the bad VI, you will see the scroll bars disabled while the good VI has active scroll bars.  To replicate the repaint problem, scroll the window up and down with your mouse wheel.  If it's good when you first open the VI, click on another window, then click on the window of VI and try again the mouse wheel.  This by clicking sur-loin-and-return always causes the problem of repaint for me.  I tried the screw on two different computers, both running Windows XP SP3 and LabVIEW 8.0.1 with identical results.

Here's what I discovered simple troubleshooting with the screws:

    always off scroll bars

    * repaint the problem in the main window for larger then 680 pixels of window widths

    * repaint the problem in the menu bar of the main window for widths of more than 646 pixels

    * entire window becomes disabled than 1348 pixels window width

    * can paint window minimize and restore, but only repaints only once

    * scrollbar boxes sometimes flicker in the display, but then disappear

    * Scroll left and right hovering mouse over the bar and horizontal scroll by using the mouse wheel

I found something similar on this forum (thread: problem with refresh of façade)-it could be linked to the CAR on the Panel being offset internally.  I don't have access to LabVIEW 8.5 or later and do not plan to upgrade - I have not tried the trial version, as this user has done.  I could try to copy and paste my set of the block for a new VI diagram but the VI is so important I'm afraid something would break, plus I don't want to do it again in a few months.  The problem seemed to occur after a certain number of stops (or revision number).  I save copies of backup often and when the problem first happened, I was able to go to a previous version, make the missing changes and save it without any problem, but this only delayed the problem and he came later.  It is therefore perhaps the revision number.  It seems not related to a change or a particular addition in the front panel and the graph.

The attached picture shows the repaint problems and scroll bar in bad VI.

This raises a question I have - if this problem is a bug has been fixed in 8.5 and later, is it possible to apply bug fixes for older versions?  Or what I need to pay for an update fix these bugs?

Seems that something got corrupted with this VI. Things to copy on a cool VI and things should be OK.

See also this recent report of a similar problem.
