  I posted this on the Narcotics Control Instrument, but maybe it's not in the right place since I didn't get all the answers. Here's my question:

  I have been looking for more than an hour and have not led to what. Is there a version of the NOT-MAX runtime? I have deployed executables LabVIEW on many other PCs and I encounter a problem on one of them where the resource VISA vi does not return the exact list of the COM ports even as drop-down list of the vi box VISA set up a Serial Port. For example, the list box might show COM1 and COM4 COM10, but VISA resource find vi shows ASRL1::INSTR, ASRL4::INSTR, and ASRL12::INSTR (should be ASRL10::INSTR). So I need a program such as NOR-MAX to change the alias on the PC with the execution of VISA 4.2 engine so that it corresponds to what shows the VISA configure Serial Port vi, incidentially, that matches what is shown in Device Manager.

  The PC in question does NOT the LabVIEW development environment installed, so it has NEITHER-MAX. is there a stand-alone exe OR-MAX I can install it on other PCs without the IDE LV? Manual change of visaconf.ini will do the trick? If so, is that what I should remove all aliases, uninstall all external (VCP) ports in the Device Manager, restart the PC (or not) and start again, reconnect the devices?

  Thank you for your response. Yes, I use the Application Builder and no, I chose not install NOR-MAX, but I see there in my file of project under "additional installers. I will consult the installer to run from the Web site of NOR.

  After that I posted this question, I have experienced yet. I have manually edited visaconf.ini so that numbers ASRL agreed with Device Manager of / ' Windows port assignment and low and behold, it worked! If this happens on the PC client, installation of MAX would probably be best solultion, however.

  Now I'm wondering if the VISA resource find vi is just read this file? I guess that Yes.

• Lost the remote TCP/IP connection through NOR-MAX

  Here's my full configuration process:

  3. then, there will be a new resource under "resources VISA TCP/IP". Select this option and 'VISA Open Session'. A dialog box will be retractable to the communication of the instrument.

  4. go to the tab "viSetAttribute", the value VI_ATTR_TCP_KEEPALIVE to VI_TRUE, VI_ATTR_TMO_VALUE the value of 15000.

" So I try to read a buffer (in the viRead tab), but it send me error timeout (VI_ERROR_TMO). After that, I erase the buffer in viClear.   This situation is repeated every time that I reopen it new session. In the meantime, I also doubt that the viWrite did send the command to the oscilloscope or not. The oscilloscope was no response after that I have send "ASET" (WaveRunner 104Xi order for autosetup oscilloscope) through the viWrite tab.

  I am out of ideas now.

  What's my configuration OR-MAX problem? or hardware problem? or a server problem?

  Please advice... need help badly.

  Alan and LeCroy Support here...

  Use the type of connection (LXI).  The problem is that when you use the connection TCP/IP (ACIP) type, you cannot configure the WaveRunner 104MXi as a resource of VISA's TCP/IP in MAX.   Note that MAX is not 'hip' to recognize any instrument type TCPIP, including extended via ACIP LeCroy.  To use LXI, go to utilities > utility configuration... and then to the 'Remote' tab, where you will find the button on the left side of the screen of config to use 'LXI '.  If you don't see this button, you will probably need to update your firmware.

  With the type of connection (LXI), you can automatically find the scope through MAX, enter this amount as a VISA TCP/IP resource and configure an alias as well...  You can also point your web browser to the IP address of the bezel, and you will see a status page with information, including the name VISA always useful resource to use when you configure the scope in MAX.  (Note, however, there is no need to use MAX at all when the connections of VISA to LeCroy oscillloscopes!)

• Compatibility of 64-bit of Windows 10 NOR-MAX,

  I plan my (forced) migration to Windows 10 this summer for my PXI chassis and noted that NEITHER-MAX 15.0 is not currently compatible with Windows 10, 64-bit (http://www.ni.com/white-paper/52818/en/) operating system. Has anyone heard any news on when / if will produce a compatible NOR-MAX always remember how much time OR took based on the latest versions of Windows?

  It is compatible with Windows 10 64-bit as long as you are using the 32-bit version of the software.

  You will see as very few packets NOR is designed to run natively as a 64-bit software on 64-bit Windows version.

• NOR-MAX 5: analysis of the instruments?

  I am currently developing my GPIB-USB-HS adapter using NOR-MAX version 5. Where is the button "Scan for Instruments' past? All my other systems are on the NOT-MAX 4.4.1.

  I was still unable to find it, so I went back to version 4.7.7 (who has the button "Scan for Instruments" in the usual place) and went from there.

• Attributes in NOR-Max not found in Labview

  I'm currently developing a LabView tool (2011) with a camera from Manta G504B Ethernet. It is NOR-compatible IMAQdx but in NOR-MAX attributes are not the same as those found in LabView. I would like as my tool developed to be able to change the exposure and acquire values and lifestyles. However, these attributes do not appear in LabView but appear in NOR-MAX. is it possible to get these attributes in LabView, since these values will change very frequently?

  Answer was found with the example OR grab and Attributes.vi base.

• NOR-MAX recorded do not channel setting correctly

  I'm developing a system using Modules of field Point. I use 7 LabVIEW and NOR-MAX 3.0 to create commands and attributes for the FP-PG-522 module.

  To create an attribute of channel using NOR-MAX 3.0, I selects the FP-PG-522 module in the section of remote systems, select the desired channel, select the string attribute, then select Create point.

  A new item now appears in the data area. When I select this element, there is a description in the section 'Channels used on this point', which describes the attribute. For example, I chose the market time attribute. For this article, it says "this element represents the 'On Time' of the channels selected attribute. This attribute can be set to any integer between
  1 to 65535. "

  Then, I hit the SAVE button, which shows how to save the IAK file locally, so to save it on the module of ps2000.

  If I close OR-MAX 3 and restart, when I select the same new element in the data area, the attribute has changed. It doesn't seem to be any pattern, but I had such combinations as the "control" attributes, instead of the attribute "Generate impulses", etc..

  Then I have to delete all these channels and start again, however, data are still once, not saved correctly.

  Someone else knows this and knows a way around it?

• Adding nodes to a bridge outside NOR-MAX

  I am currently invovled in a project that involves the use several gateways and nodes to monitor temperature, condition of equipment, etc.  The system will be implemented by people experienced in LabVIEW, but end users are not.  Is there a way to program the LabVIEW software or use other other than the NOT-MAX means by which end users can add a node themselves through the interface developed for them?

  Without the 9792 or LV 2010, there is no programmatic way to work.

  I did go ahead and establish a project that I put together showing how to proceed in 2010 with NOR-WSN 1.2 and a 9792.

• Camera USB/DirectShow is no projection in NOR-MAX

  I have a gray Chameleon Point CMLN-13S2M USB 2.0 camera and it does not appear in the NOT-MAX.

  I am well aware of Directshow registration with cameras RMP problems and I can tell the camera is correctly recorded.  It comes without any problem in AMCAP, a simple viewer of Directshow and also in Skype.

  I just uninstalled the drivers PMP and spent some time going through the registry to remove all references that I could, at Point Grey and PMP.  Then I reinstalled the 32-bit version of the newer drivers, v2.5 beta 2.  I've also upgraded the firmware of the device later.

  I am running

  LabVIEW 2012 SP1 f2, 12.0.1

  Vision development 12.1.0 module

  MAX 5.4.0f0

  NOR-IMAQ 4.7.2

  NOR-IMAQdx 4.1.0

  Any ideas?  It is a side project and I worked on it market now for over a year and I've learned to get this camera working.

  The way list us the cameras is quite simple using the only mechanism of API Miscrosoft has for him. • DAQmx without NOR-MAX?

  Hey Gang,

  I have developed a driver for the client using a PCI-6601 and DAQmx embedded application.  Now that we are in the deployment phase, the customer is shocked by the size of the NOT-MAX.  (a rudimentary facility is about 1.5 GB)  The only part of MAX that we use is to establish a connection between the PCI PnP and DAQmx resource name.

  Has anyone written a utility to PnP without MAX branch?

  Setup for DAQmx is a little big, but really not all that will be installed on the target system. However, I know a problem if you try to spread using a CD. Alternatively, you can ask end users to download on our Web site (www.ni.com.drivers), or you can host it on an internal network if your end-users are internal.

  I just ran the installer DAQmx (including MAX) with all selected and checked the cost of disk. It was a little less than 500 MB. Remove everything except kernel driver, MAX and the support of the API (I chose the support of Visual C++ without examples or integration) and it came out to 300 MB. Use the disc button in the installer to see what will be your condition.

• unknown exception MAX

  NOR-MAX used to work on this computer that is running Windows 7, but now whenever it starts, I get an error message about MAX encounters an unexpected error since its last.  By clicking 'Continue' gives me a splash screen for MAX, but after waiting a minute or two, the same unexpected error occurs and MAX disappears.  Removal and re-installation of MAX did not help.  The MAX upgrade did not help.  Now where should I look?

  In fact, things were not quite as simple as an upgrade from 5.3 5.4.  When I met the problem, I tried to do an uninstall of 5.3 followed by a 5.4 installation, but my problem persists.  MAX database reconstructions were considered then, but they also don't has not fixed the problem.  At this point, check with WIN7 told me that MAX was 5.3 version again, but failure begins told Max that it is 5.4.  Running 5.4 Installer told me he had nothing to do since I was already at 5.4.  The fix came to do a repair on MAX.  Seeking old discs install which reached in February 2011, I have no more.  Cancelling repair then leads to a reboot message, and after the Reboot, MAX was very good.  If the upgrade are perhaps the right thing to do, but for some reason my first upgrade seems to have been damaged or incomplete in some way.  The repair was the final solution.

  We use an EMC VNX as our SAN, and we see high ABQL (average busy queue length) on the SAN. EMC support told me they see QFULL conditions, which means that the SAN can catch up with the number of applications. They recommend so reduce the depth of Queue LUN on my 5.5 ESX servers to reduce the load.

  OK, I can understand that. We use Emulex HBA adapters, the default value is 32, so I'll put it up to 24 (at the beginning). But if you change the depth of the queue of the logic unit number, you must also replace Max drive exceptional requests, from what I've read. So I'll put that down is max 32 to 24.

  Problem is, I have 26 warehouses of data that I need to change this setting, for 6 guests in a cluster.   I have a cRIO 9066 put in place on a local subnet. I think that all the software and drivers are correct. I have deployed my program and it works great except... When I add some optical converters of fibre in the mixture. Here is my system:

  PC--> cable ethernet--> ethernet switch-->--> cRIO ethernet cable * it works fine *.

  PC--> ethernet cable--> converter of fiber--> fiber--> ethernet switch (FPS)-->--> cRIO ethernet cable * unable to connect to MAX *.

  My converter fiber and ethernet sfp module switch are all 1000 MB/full duplex. It is run only on a 10 m fiber. I tried several fiber optic cables. I tried the sfp in several locations. My sfp and the switch are both Advantech so I guess that they are compatible with each other. At this point, I plan to buy just a card PCIe fiber for my PC, but I thought I should check first with the experts.

  There is a timeout OR max. The default value is 4000 Ms the reason why you are not able to detect the cRIO in NOR-MAX may be because the packages are damaged along the way. If you do not want to check this, you can always monitor the packets with WireShark with two different sets high. In this way, you can see if the packets are defined correctly or not.

  I have a Dell M6700 running Windows 7 64 - bit, Labview 2012 32 - bit, OR-imaq 4.6.4 OR-imaq i/o 2.8, NOR-imaqdx 4.3 and NI Vision Development Module, 2013 OR MAX 5.5.1 in addition to other modules OR series, xnet, etc.

  I have two webcams, I try to use with Labview. One is the Dell integrated webcam, the other is a Logitech C500 USB webcam.

  Or webcams are at MAX. And in fact, the folder "devices OR-imaqdx" don't market not yet appear.

  Both webcams work perfectly with the "Dell Webcam Central" software, the AMCAP software and Skype. The only software I have and who does not see the webcams is NOR-MAX.

  I uninstalled and reinstalled everything, including the operating system, with no luck at all.

  It seems to be a common problem but I can't find no response except for a possible cause. In one of the posts I've read, one of EI said that NEITHER-MAX requires the registry key "DevicePath" so I wonder if a registry problem is the cause.

  What exactly is OR-MAX looking to recognize webcams and create the folder "devices OR-imaqdx?

  I wonder if this could be a manifestation of a recent problem that arose. Can you try to rename "niu3v.dll" in C:\Windows\SysWow64 and then closing/re-open MAX?
