Norton privacy setting not saved

My Firefox 8.0 privacy settings do not work. I use Norton Internet Security V19.2.0.10 2012. I tried to remove pref.js without success, I also put Norton to allow Firefox in the control of the program. Always without success.

The last I heard, Norton is not compatible with the new version of Firefox. I am also a user of Norton and disappointed by this, but this isn't something with that Firefox can help us. Go on the site of Norton and ask them to make the program compatible with the new version of Firefox. I will do this, but I suggest that others do, too so they can take this seriously.

    Vista Home Basic, only one user (Administrator) of June.
    Problem with Norton Internet Security - rather than treat a renewal, June downloaded & installed a trial version of Norton 360, who then had an expiration date.  To solve Windows recovery was used to return to the previous state.  Still not right so have been trying to download the new program from Symantec.  Their process usual downloads first a "Downloader" that takes place to download the actual program.  The Downloader would download but then nothing would happen.  Save the download in a folder, but then he wasn't there.  Found the full .exe download (do not use the Downloader of Symantec), the download process appears to work normally but the target file was not saved in the target folder.  Tried another file with the same result.  The user can save the other files in the folder without problem.  A search of the computer could not find the file downloaded Norton - he was not saved anywhere.
    I have since downloaded the program on another computer without any problems, this is not the source gives the problem.
    Why aren't downloaded files be saved?  No error message - it's as if the program is removed immediately after downloading.

    Try to uninstall all versions of Norton first.  Norton doesn't uninstall well using conventional means.  Try using the Norton Uninstall tool at the: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039.  WHO should get rid leftovers from the previous installation and allow you to download and install the one you want.

    Your browser is configured to record browsing history? Tools > Options > privacy. "Firefox will be:" should be set to "Use the custom settings for history" to see all the options.

    I have the latest version on Windows 7 Pro OS istalled.

    I have all my privacy setting to allow calls to and IMs are used to define people in my contacts only. I get IMs from people, I am not wanting me to add them to my contact list. How can I stop this? If I want to add someone I'll add them manually.

  • kaychain lost passwords (password not saved)

    I use Keychain since its inception without problems. Over the few weeks I have seen Keychain forget dozens of my passwords - info/detail remains the same (name, type, where), but the 'Name' and 'Take into account' of changes on the ground. For the name, these words are added (passwords not saved). For example, my login password for my webhost site changed to "Arnolfodesign.com" to "Arnolfodesign.com (passwords saved not)" and the "account:" field reads "unregistered passwords. I tried repair keychain, but that do not recover the originals. I have Time Machine, but could not access the library keychain file. So, I had manually reset dozens of passwords.

    In January, I used to rebuild the directory DiskWarrior. That morning, my iMac is was crushed and not could be started.  So I used the latest version of DiskWarrior to repair a damaged directory. I guess the question of the bunch was the result of the reconstruction of the directory, but anyone in the Mac community has their set piece these conditions? For me that I may have a bug any?

    Whenever I get on a frequently used site where I have already indicated on the Firefox browser to save my log in info, I still need to manually connect. The latest versions of Firefox are not like that. I am running Firefox on both my Imac (OS 10.5.8) and on my Mac Book Pro (Snow Leopard), and on each machine, the latest version of Firefox does the same thing. I don't have this problem with Safari, but I prefer to use Firefox then please let me know if there is anything I can do to solve this problem.

    If you register your name, and your password in the password manager and then having no other effect that Firefox can fill these name if necessary.
    Firefox is not automatically a session you.
    Many Web sites may use a cookie to remember you, you do not need to open a session.

    Websites to remember you and automatically log you are stored in a cookie that you must allow: Firefox > Preferences > privacy > Cookies: "Exceptions."
    Also make sure that you do not use the delete, search and download Firefox browsing history to erase "Cookies" and the "Site preferences" "browser history".

    I am able to create new print shortcuts in preferences, but the settings are not saving. If I watch settings which is the color then look at other one who is B & W the other settings appear in options. How can I get the shortcut settings to save correctly. I clicked on apply then OK after you have created. I have even come out right and come back and see that the shortcut has changed.  Color LaserJet MFP 400 with 3 installed tray and firmware updated. Windows XP using LAN to print.

    Solved with a work around.

    Instead create different shortcuts printer the printer, I created a second installation of the printer, renamed it (letterhead) and now what impression the choice is made at the level of the printer not on the level of preferences. I've also renamed the instal Moose (EverydayPrinting) printer and set the prferences in that one needed. I know a little awkward, but this just HP does not take parameters. The user is satisfied with the result.

  • Question on the Windows Media Player privacy setting

    I've been using Windows media player for almost a decade, like many other people, but I never really paid attention to all those defining what affects privacy in WMP.  Now, I have a few questions about these privacy setting.

    I read in the windows Help article, if I check on "update my music files by retrieving the news media of the internet " in the Privacy tab on the Options in Windows Media Player dialog box, it is said that ' indicates if the player will automatically obtain and update missing media information for music files in your library. If the information is available. If this check box is selected, the Player tries to update any missing media information in the files by sending data about them to a database of Windows Media. "

    My question is that if I turn the setting (which was on), this means that my music in my library files are sent on a windows media database?  or just a piece of information about the file are sent to them?

    Let's say I have a family video that I created with my own camera in AVI file format and it ' in my library.  If the setting I mentioned above is enabled, the video files are also sent to the database of windows media, or somewhere?   There is nothing to hide, but I really don't want my own private music which will be sent to anywhere else on my computer that's why I really want to know what kind of data or information about the file are sent to the windows media database to retrieve information from the media.

    also what about the customer experience improvement program in the drive configuration? ("I want to help makeMicrosoft software and services even better by sending Player to check data use versMicrosoft" on the Privacy tab on the dialog option in the player)  I did not know until now, but the setting has been activated on my player... If it's on, my personal files in my library are sent to Microsoft? According to the article, I've read it doesn't seem like it, but I don't know and want to make sure.

    As for the 1st setting, audio/video files certainly is not sent to Microsoft (which would require anyway a lot too much bandwidth). WMP only sends the metadata, such as title, artist, length etc.

    On the 2nd parameter, the privacy statement for the Customer Experience Improvement Program is at http://www.microsoft.com/products/ceip/EN-US/privacypolicy.mspx . After that, no personal file will be sent (I don't see how those that might be useful to Microsoft). If you are still not sure, you can always disable this setting without side effects.

  • The mouse settings not saved after reboot/restart

    I'm changing the speed at which my mouse pointer moves on the screen.  I'm doing a 'demand' the change, and then click on 'ok '.   The point of the mouse moves faster in the game.  Then after reboot/restart the computer, the mouse setting is default slower movement speed.   The changes are not saved after reboot.   What keeps the change of speed of movement of the mouse to be saved?

    Please, try the following steps.  This should allow you to keep all the settings in the SetPoint software at the same time to solve your problem.

    1. click on the Start ORB, type msconfig in the Search box and hit Enter
    If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue
          2. in the System Configuration dialog box, click the Startup tab
    3. Locate the entries called KHALMNPR or similar and uncheck the box next to them (there may only be a)
    4. click OK and restart your computer
    5. after reboot, change the speed of your mouse pointer and restart

  • Windows Live Mail 2012 is not saving sent Messages - 8 victory

    Recently my laptop was stolen and had to get a new.

    Fortunately, I had everything backed up with mypcbackup.com, so not too lost.  However, I have major issues with Win Live Mail.

    1. saved messages are not saving to sent mail.  The boxes are checked.  I checked that "show all messages" is the parameter.  I tried to change the folder to mail to a new charge storage and empty one.  Nothing works.  Someone said that the parameters of time and the region can effect.  Mine are set for time and my correct location even though when I bought the laptop, it has been the standard we TZ rather than my local Malaysia.  This cause a problem?

    It is to save the gmail and hotmail sends properly.  Just having problems with my computer and business correspondence which are not mainstream, but have been well until the new laptop to work and win 8.

    2 I had restored my backup of emails in mail storage folder, but none of them are picked up by Win Live Mail.  This is very important because it's the last 4 years of work e-mails.

    I suggest you to uncheck the option to save the messages in the sent items folder. Restart Windows Live Mail, and then check the new option, clickapply , and then click OK.

    Also try to rebuild the Windows Live Mail folder and check if this solves the problem.

    Step 1: Rename the Windows Mail folder and create a new folder

    a. exit Windows Live Mail.

    b. find the folder of Windows Live Mail .

    It is usually located in:

    C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\

    c. right click on the Windows Live Mail folder and then click Rename.

    d. Add old at the end of the name of the folder so that the folder is now named Windows Live Mail.old.

    Step 2: Create a new Windows Live Mail folder and copy the contents of the previous folder.

    a. start Windows Live Mail so that it can automatically create the new Windows Live Mail folder, and then quit Windows Live Mail.

    b. find the new Windows Live Mail folder to confirm that his creation.

    It is usually located in:

    C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\

    Note If the new Windows Live Mail folder is compressed, you must unzip this file. To decompress, right click on the Windows Live Mail folder, and then select extract.

    b. import the messages into the previous Windows Mail folder to the new folder. To import the messages, follow these steps.

    i. click file, point to importand then click Message.

    II. click Windows Live Mail in Select a programand then click Next.

    III. click Browse, select the Windows Live Mail.oldlocation and then click Next.

    IV. click all folders inSelect the folderand then click Next.

    v. click Complete, and then the messages will be imported in file imported.

    c. place the messages that have been imported into any folder to the folder appropriate under the Local folder. For example, move messages in the Inbox under the imported folder folder to the folder Inbox under Local folder.

    d. check if blocked messages are deleted. If this is not the case, try to send or delete messages.

    The problem is that the creation of a region of a modal rise this area of the html code. Take a look at the DOM when you run your page and not the html source code, because that does not reflect the changes to the DOM is the loading of the page. This means that your memo field is far from the FORM tags and actually only submit to the session state. The issue is not addressed when you send page! You can follow through your debugging page. Memo is not saved and untreated.
    Try saving the value of session state is not enough, it does not really matter in this case. The time that you submit the page, session state is crushed by the submitted values of the elements.
    So what I did:


    • Move P9_MEMOVELD to the FACTUUR region, as well as all other db fields

    • change the type of hidden

    • the protected value not

    • in modal region to create a new page P9_MEMOVELD_POP, type textfield element

    • Set the source to always use a page element as a source, with the source P9_MEMOVELD

      If you want or need the session state as a whole belongs to you, it depends on if you are using this also dynamically on the page and therefore to influence results, but I don't think it will be (it's a Memo field...)



    Additional notes:

    • Be careful with the jquery libraries! The standard libraries are included, but you add previous versions too! 1.4.2 this could cause problems of...

    • Use your models better. Why did you would wrap a region in the div tags? Change or add a model of region to be DIV tags You can then easily assign a static id in this region and target. This will save you from enveloping the wrappers wrapped (cause it is what looks like the code that is generated in the end).

    I have a critical problem with the backup of the emails I sent to Thunderbird.

    The application works very well, that everyone sent mail is correctly saved in the folder "sent" located in the e-mail account of TB.
