  I have Norton Security Suite provided by Comcast. Norton Toolbar does not work with Firefox 17.0.1 on my Win 7 machine. I lived all the questions on this topic and did all the steps and when I click on "Add-ons", he always says that the toolbar is not compatible. It works with IE, but I prefer to use Firefox.

If you call customer Norton service toll-free they have always helped me start (without charges) when I have updated to a new version of Firefox - seems to happen every time even if I run the updates regularly.   You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

  You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

  • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
  • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
  • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

  Clear the cache and delete cookies only from Web sites that cause problems.

  "Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

  'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

  Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

• Why Norton Toolbar will not work with Firefox 23.0.1?

  Norton Toolbar 2013.4.1.2 is disabled and there is no option to turn it on. I've updated my Norton 360 with all latest updates. Norton site says that it has updated its software to be compatible with Firefox 23.

  Finally solved my problem. I had to uninstall and reinstall Norton 360 and when I updated and rebooted I had the last Norton Toolbar, v2012.4.2.2

  For some reason any before the re-setup of Norton 360 my Norton Toolbar would not be up to date to the latest version. V2012.4.1.2 Norton Toolbar is not compatible with Firefox v23.0.1

  At least now I have my Norton Toolbar with Firefox.

  I don't know about the time scale for the updates for other Norton products. Waiting for the update by Symantec, if you want to use Norton modules, you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.

  Downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first of all uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option 'remove my Firefox personal data '. If you select this option, it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.

  Then you can install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your favorite courses, passwords etc.

  I recommend, to avoid possible problems with decommissioning, accessing your profile folder and delete the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Delete these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, check their compatibility and cancel the toolbar customizations.

  I am a web developer and since the 22nd of Firefox update, sounds no longer play for all users on the Web site.   so I have Firefox 13.0.1 and Flash Player upgrade to 11.3 and flash no longer works. I tried many things, but ultimately downgraded flas player for 11.2. Still no joy. The only way I can get Flash to work is if I start Firefox in safe mode with disabled modules. If I manually disable the modules from inside Firefox is still does not work, so I guess that's not quite the same as disabling safe mode. I have not installed RealPlayer. I tried to create a new profile, but still no joy. Other ideas for me to try please?

• MKS plugin no longer works with Firefox Linux

  I've been using the plugin mks successfully with Firefox on my Ubuntu 9.04 a few months machine.

  But just recently I've been doing the dreaded black window of "VMware Remote MKS Plugin works do not" when I try to put in place consoles.

  I suspect that a recent update to Firefox or Ubuntu broke things. Someone at - he come across this new problem?

  You've already tried this. Uninstall the plugin and install it fresh through the browser plugin setup.

  Turns out having had a problem of this laptop in particular, as you suggest.
  I tried to clear cookies and cache, but the problem remains same after uninstalling and reinstalling FireFox. I finally downloaded, installed, and the part used 'TuneUp' software including deleted the cache and cookies and updated my Malwarebytes Anti - Malware Pro after that I uninstalled FireFox. So when I reinstalled FireFox, AOL email was opened quickly by using this browser. Happy

• Installation in silent mode (-ms) no longer works with Firefox 16.0.2

  New version 16.0.2 does not work with the option - default SM. Very irritating when to install on workstations 50 +. And listen to Mozilla, that happens almost every major or small update... so please leave the settings as they are and do not change anything on this Department.   It seems to work. Please try this: using 7-Zip you can extract the installer and create customizations, default, preferences, etc. inside \core\defaults. Then zip the kernel and the setup.exe in the .7z format. Using 7-ZIP SFX Maker , you can create a self-extracting exe from the compressed file .7z with the required parameters. In 7-ZIP SFX files tab add (+) machine archive .7z created previously and in the Execute tab add (+) setup.exe in the field program and the ms in Arguments. Also, in general (it's for SFX machine), deselect the option allow the user to change the path and select hide the progress of extraction.
