  • My game says that it is not "a win32 application.

I have a couple of SNES games that I downloaded for play.  Both give me the "not a win32 application" when I try to open them.  I have 3 different emulators responsible, none of them will simply open the game.  I have to go through programs, find the game, find the rom and open it.  This means that I can't save any of them, because he made me start a new game each time taking this road.  How can I change the soft 'win32 '?  What is "win32"?

    Hi venlost,

you're poorly understand the concept of emulation. It works like a virtual machine: imitate you (virtualization) a disk, you do not have (in this case: a SNES / Super Famicom console) and a virtual disc (in this case: a virtual SNES cartridge) in this player. There is nothing to 'open' your operating system. You put your *.smc (= Roma SNES) files in the folder of the emulator (preferably), start the emulator and load the ROM in the memory. The emulator behaves like a real console, acknowledges the inserted cartridge (= the ROM loaded) and the game starts. -Btw: If your ROMs are files '.exe' (which could give the "Win32" error), there is something wrong.

  • Pavilion DV7-3060us: BIOS restore file "not a win32 application invalid" (Pavilion DV7)

I have an intermittent (about 19 times out of 20) on a Pavilion DV7-3060us BIOS failure.  After that you press power, the fan and the light turns on, the screen remains black and lock/num lock flashing twice, pause, flash twice, etc..  Sometimes, the computer will boot normally to Win7.   Near as I can understand, I need to reflash the BIOS.  I downloaded the image file winflash/BIOS (SP47531.exe) the drivers and software page, but when I try to run it, I get a "...". not a Win32 valid request"message.

Any advice on how to get this file to run it, or another method to solve the failure of startup issue, would be very much appreciated.

So much worse... apparently the problem is I downloaded the file through Chrome.  Downloaded with IE on another machine, recorded on a USB key, it connected the USB on the machine of problem without difficulty.  Does not seem to have solved my problem starting, but the 'valid not a Win32 application' error has been resolved.

  • the menu desktop shortcuts and start to return a *.lnk not a win32 application invalid

shortcuts on the desktop and start menu retrun all error "*.lnk not a win32 application valid."  applications work at the opening of the program files folder, but when I send the request to the computer desk or crerate a shortcut and drag on the desktop, I get the same Win32 error when I try to open them from the desktop

You can try the solution from this article: fixes for Windows Vista file association (I know, it's for Vista, but it contains exactly the same values in the registry for .lnk)

But I'm confused because this issue should only concern the specific account, if this account contains more extra value in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.lnk\UserChoice (this path should not exist in the registry). I mentioned only the key main ".lnk" with two subkeys: "OpenWithList" and "OpenWithProgids", I understand that you do not have this key "UserChoice"?

Other disks work in the CD/DVD drive?
If you stop the auto-run process and open the DVD (R / click on the DVD drive)
initially menu\ computer) can you start installing the Setup.exe games?

If the game is available for download the file may become corrupted during the download.

You can check if the disc is bad by trying to copy the content to your hard drive.
Create a new folder on the desktop and copy the files there. If they copy all try to install the game from this folder. If the game installs you can then delete the folder.

If do not copy the files on the disc is probably bad.
If the other drives do not work correctly the DVD/CD drive may need cleaning
    or it is defective.
