I was unable to open the folder or file in any given method. Make the backup I use the Backup Wizard and have used the advanced, and normal method.   Thank you very much for your help. Before using this laptop, I used my old computer with WIN XP Pro and Office 2003. I was able to back up to the external hard drive F and then open and work with files or files, as in copy and paste to the C drive everything I need. Office 2007 does not work the same? I use Windows XP pro here as well. In addition, I seem to have several folders "My Documents" on "My Computer" tree. A top under the desk, then 'User' in Documents and Settings, I 'My Documents' and 'recent Documents '. In the latter folder, I found all the backups, many icons, real backup folder containing only 1 KB, and most appear to be shortcuts. I simply do not know what is happening here, although some files or folders are containing the info that I have previously saved in My Documents.

  How can I know what a folder, when I returned to the Backup Wizard, follow the instructions in the wizard and the file or restore the right folder? I'll be able to see this only restored?

  With all due respect, you're wrong to be able to open and edit files after using backup windows on your other computer. Using the backup utility is not the same as copy and paste. When you use backup image is created similar to the image below. When you use copy / paste, you are able to access immediately, open and edit the file. Backup doesn't work the same way. It compresses the files you selected to save then creates an image of the same thing. There is no option to change the format that uses the backup utility files.

  As for the several folders "My documents" you see, there's such a folder for each user account on the computer, including the default Administrator account. These records are quite normal.

  The only strange thing, that you have pointed out the fact that you see the individual files in recent Documents. You should see the image created by the backup utility along with the documents you accessed physically.

  format .wma before importing in creation of DVD.

• What is the best solution when my external drive for Time Machine is full?

  I use the latest version of Mac OS X on my iMac 27 ". I use a drive outside of 3 TB G-Tech for Time Machine backup. Due to my recently many RAW photo images, I have less 8% left storage on my external hard drive, so I'm trying to figure out next steps in what concerns the strategy of external storage and have the following questions:

  • When my external drive for Time Machine is full, it is my understanding that older backups on external hard drive will be deleted to make room for newer backups. If the oldest backups contained pictures (whose records have not changed since the time they are initially stored), then I guess that these photos will be removed from the external drive - correct?
  • If I had to replace my external drive for Time Machine with a new external drive which is as big or bigger than the one it replaces, what should I expect on the size of the initial backup on the new drive? I guess the size of the backup would be exactly equal to the current amount of storage used on my drive hard iMac - correct?
  • Would it not be possible to connect the external drive for Time Machine existing at a new Time Machine external drive so that when the original disk is full, the overflow will be automatically stored on the new external hard drive for Time Machine? (If feasible, it seems that this strategy would maximize my external storage capacity vs just replace external drives.)

  I realize that my first two questions are rather basic, but I don't want to make any false assumptions. The third idea is intriguing and I would like to know if this is a viable option.

Also factor in what you store: a jpeg from the web and a raw photo file are the two images, the size of a is very different. If you work in high-resolution or large native files, or audio files (record pro, no music files) or video production twice the disk fills up very quickly. If you collect photos and JPEG and mp3 files or a handful of videos not so much is necessary.

  I would keep the old drive intact if you want to replace and start over with a new drive, if that's the plan. You have the old data, you can keep it somewhere safe and have a redundant backup which you can reconnect at any time to restore from. Let the new index drive itself with new data and take if from there, in the case otherwise you can copy the backup to the new drive and set the drive as the new source of backup but personally I wouldn't copy of the data, that's my preference, it may not be yours and that's fine.

  No, my music using Apple music or iTunes game. You should be able to access your media purchased on the device without using the playlists, or playlists on your Mac when iTunes is running via the use of computers on the Apple TV.

  I have a late 2009 Mac Mini running OS X El Capitan 10.11.4.  Since the update to El Capitan, I'm not able to add printers, or find software of the printer.  When I opened the printers and Scanners in system preferences, then click (+) to set up a printer, 'Name', 'Place' and 'Use' is not selectable.  If they are not selectable, how am I supposed to add a printer?

  I have a printer Laser of Brother DCP-7065DN.  When I connect it via USB, it does not appear.  All ports operate. (I checked quad).  The cord works with my other printer (a Canon MX860), is not the power cord.

  Canon MP830 and an Okidata 320 are installed locally on a Windows 2003 Print

  Server. Both are on the same domain. I also have Windows XP, 7, Vista and Linux

  machines on the same network. They are all able to print. The only one who does

  not working is a Windows XP client. This machine has also win 7, Vista installed

  on different hard drives. they are able to print to shared printers. I have

  cammot access to a printer by using the UNC path. I can see the shared

  printers in Favorites network but I can not connect. If I use the add printer

  Wizard to add a network printer, the printer appear in the book: but

  Yet once, they will not connect the error message I get is:

  "Unable to add the printer connection. Either the typed wsa printer name

  incorrctly, or the specified printer has lost its connection to the server. »

  I checked the permissions for the priners and I am logged in as one

  administrator when I try to add the printer. I also checked the group policy and

  everything seems to be oK. I also deleted and added the printer to the

  Server, that I managed to install them as local printers on the affected XP machine

  using the \\server_name\printer_share_name port. The priner name and the

  share name are the same for each printer. They have all worked last week that

  network printers. I'm curious to know what is causing this weird behavior. Any

  help would be greatly appreciated.

  Are you sure that you're not open your files with the free player instead of using Acrobat? And please do not post the same question multiple times. Also, try to be more specific. "I am not able" can mean many different things.
