Not genuine Windows 7 Home Premium

Separated from this thread.

I have the same problem. My BIOS date is 2008. Yet, I received all of the updates until I went to 10. Last modification on 12/15/2015.  In other words, it was valid until then. !!! Prior to level and even qualified to go to 10.  I'm assuming that when I upgraded, it was validated by 10. Why should I have to pay 109.00 to obtain another copy of windows 7 Home premium.

I'm running a thinkpad IBM T61

I suggest that you run the diagnostic tool Microsoft Genuine Advantage in normal mode and copy and paste the results into a response for further analysis:

http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=52012

Run the tool and when it ends, click the copy button, open a text such as Word or Notepad file and select Edit, paste. You can paste directly into an answer here. Open a response, right click and select Paste.

You can do a upgrade Express from Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Home Premium.

Windows 7 - upgrade Express features:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/Windows-Anytime-Upgrade

If you are in Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States, you can use anytime upgrade. If this isn't the case, you will need to purchase the version of Windows 7 you want.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/Windows-Anytime-Upgrade

First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click the option to purchase a key. Wait while loading of the Express Upgrade page, click on the Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade to buy it.

Click Next, fill in your details (it is important that you do this because the product key will be sent to you as a backup in case you need to reinstall) enter your credit card information, click next to begin the upgrade, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement , click upgrade, wait while the software updates, (it may take 10 minutes or more, depending on the case, updates are required), your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify its update of the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a windows will pop up by notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium, your files, programs and settings stored, proceed to activate Windows 7 Home Premium.

  • Want to downgrade to genuine Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows Server 2003 on my HP Pavilion DV4t-1600

    Hello

IM struggling to downgrade my factory installed windows 7 to windows server 2003 on my HP Pavilion DV4t-1600

Pls help me to do that and also provide me with changes to the BIOS (if any)

    Hi Virginia,

If you have the full support for Windows Server 2003 (not an upgrade), your only option is to install clean (full). You can not downgrade Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows Server 2003. You must do a clean install. Back up your important files, start the Windows Server 2003 DVD and proceed with the installation as usual.

  • Network share does not not in Windows 7 Home premium

    Hello friends,

I have a problem with windows 7 Home premium, whenever I try to connect any other OS such as windows 2003/XP windows 7 Edition serevr Home premium, then get a pormpt put network credientials, so after the same personal again he asks seems to be not to accept.

ex: trying to connect as \\Server-A\ABCfolder can get a command prompt but when never try the DRC cross, I checked and checked the sharing network affecting all seems fine.

Here I would like to be updated as WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM IS ON WORKGROUP AND I TRY to CONNECT THE MAHCINE WHO BELONG to THE DOMAIN.

    ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Thanks for your answers... The server is a stand-alone in the same working group with other computers. In any case it seems to be a problem of windows 7 home since an ultimate and professional edition to connect correctly to win 2000 share using the same user and password that I use with win7 home ed.   I guess that the pc windows 7 does not send credentials appropriate to the remote pc.

The solution: editing the registry for the level of authentication LAN manager (in home edition, it can be configured through the registry)

    How to do:
    1. Open Registry Editor (Start search - regedit)
    4: Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
    3. create a new DWORD value with the following properties: NAME: LmCompatibilityLevel
    VALUE: 1
4 reboot your PC and try again to establish the connection.

  • Decryption of a disk of external encrypted by BitLocker on a device that is not BitLocker (Windows 7 Home Premium)

    Hi all

I have a serious problem I tried to solve a few months now, but without success.

I have this external hard drive I use to backup my data. These a few months ago, I plugged on my mother's computer to transfer files. His computer has the Windows 8.1 operating system, so it has installed in it and somehow, without giving me permission to BitLocker (and totally, I swear that I have not: D), it must have encrypted my external hard drive. When I then tried to connect it to my computer which runs on Windows 7 Home Premium, it just said that the drive is encrypted and cannot be opened. It does give me an option to enter the password or something like that. It will not only open.

So, I have the recovery password that I got from my mother's laptop so I can open the external drive into any computer on which BitLocker is installed. But I can't get it running on my computer, which is the one that I need to run it on, of course...

I checked and analyzed all the forums of discussion and forums and methods for disabling BitLocker encryption on a drive. They all have this method super-easy show where you just have to connect the player to a computer on which BitLocker, and you plug in, you should see an option "disable Bitlocker", after a right click on the device, on the upper left as you have the device open, or via the control panel. I tried to do it on 3 different computers with BitLockers, and none of them gave me such an option. I could only control encryption of the computer itself, but not to any external devices. I'm not kidding, it's just not there. Never.

I also downloaded some freeware that said they could decipher the reader for you if you have the password, but none of them worked. So please, please, if you have any suggestions, ways I could solve this problem and get the external hard drive to be able to if run on my computer even once, I would be so grateful :)

    Thanks guys,.

    Katarina

I could only control encryption of the computer itself, but not to any external devices.

I just plugged an encrypted by BitLocker on a Windows 7 Starter machine flash disk and quickly got the prompt to enter the password. Given that this is not consistent with your own observations, I suspect that one of two things:

    • Encryption has not been successfully completed. Maybe the disc has been disconnected during the encryption process.
    • The disk is not encrypted but corrupt.

I bring the disc the machine to your mother, save its data to another medium, then remove the encryption and/or distribution & format the drive.

  • Math input panel not installed, Windows 7 Home Premium

I have Windows 7 Home Premium installed on a HP laptop.  Math Input Panel is not installed and is not available on the start menu, accessories.  I am also unable to pull up using the search box of the start menu.  How to install this feature?

I thought that it was installed by default but...

Go to the Control Panel, programs & features, [left side of the window] enable or disable Windows features.

Give it time to complete the list then click on in the entry for the Tablet PC components [because the Math input panel is one of them].  And then click OK.

  • Product key and installed program do not match windows 7 Home premium

I bought a new Dell laptop and it came with windows 7 home premium installed and a diskette of drivers and every time I wonder to record the product key it tells me that it is not the key.  I'm going by what is on the label, and I think that I don't have to buy another key product or program windows 7 because I have both and the older two of 10 months.  Now my computer tells me I have windows which is not authentic and my screen is black. What should I do?

On laptops from Dell, you find the product key in the compartment to batteries.

    Click Start, right click computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click on the link change product key

Enter the product key located on the COA sticker at the bottom of the laptop and click next to activate via the Internet.

  • Wallpaper does not display Windows 7 Home Premium

About 5 months ago, I came across a problem with my screen.  It worked fine until I changed some settings, and I couldn't change my wallpaper.  I struggled with this problem for about a week or two until somebody posted a panacea: "Open %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\ and remove the TranscodedWallpaper.jpg and remove the content slideshow.ini.", and it worked!  -sort of.  Now the problem is, that I ALWAYS selects the photos do not appear on my desktop wallpaper.  My customization on my control panel settings seem to be save my changes.  I can still change the color of the desktop background (blue, black, red, or anything else.)  And the photo I choose and record also appears under the TranscodedWallpaper.jpeg, so it seems not to be corrupt.  And something I found odd, I see my desktop wallpaper selected just before my laptop shutsdown, and that's all.  I have no idea what is going on, and this problem got really annoying.  Any help will be highly appreciated me.

    Hello

Check whether your copy of Windows is activated?

Follow the mentioned below of the methods to work on the issue.

Method 1: Perform the steps in the article.

Impossible to change the background image in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2504610

Method 2: Perform a clean boot to verify if a third-party program prevents the display wallpaper.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After you perform a clean boot, perform step 7: reset the computer to start as usual of the above article.

Method 3: If the problem continues, check if all the user account control settings are a cause and to eliminate it, you can create a new user profile and see if the problem is resolved. Follow the steps below to create a new user account.

    a. open accounts to user by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.
    b. click Manage another account. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    c. click on create a new account.
    d. type the name that you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click create an account.

If the problem is resolved by creating the new user profile, you can copy the files from the profile corrupted in the new profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to perform these operations, including the new account that you just created

Follow the steps mentioned in the link fix a corrupted user profile

  • Non-genuine Windows 7 Home Premium review

So I downloaded Internet Explorer 9 beta, and before you can download the site is a real testing or whatever and my computer (as he should, his play). So, after downloading, I started the installation and like halfway through installing my screen flashes and become black, and installation has written that I'm not the authentic software thing.

Now I'm stuck in this state of ' you have windows and we're going to use it, but is not official in our records and its quite annoying because my Microsoft Security Essentials is now gone, and Silverlight works more because I'm not real.

I tried to put my product key again through the window of the system, but when I do it just points me to the support site. Help, please. :(
