Notebook settings

Windows 7 Ultimate: in some way, Notepad parameter has been changed.  I want to "word wrap".  In every note, I have to fix this.  How to make this setting permanent change?

Thank you!  Yes, this is the behavior that I expected.  It seems that something is isolated, has occurred.  The day that I wrote, I repeatedly put a "note" open to "word wrap", but the setting was not carrying on the next blank "Note" I opened.  I repeated the process as many times.  Also, I have 3 user sessions in Windows 7 (admin, 2 limited users) system and the problem appeared in my session "user", not in the session "admin.".  Today, after you start the computer, it seems to work exactly as you described!  Of course, I'll be watching this for a while.  A "reboot" perhaps was just what was needed.

Your response is much appreciated.

So... i started with a connection internet dropout. No matter how many times I've selected automatically connects it kept being changed. Used scans etc, found nothing. The problem then grew a slower connection and browser. I use IE and Opera. Opera is my default. A few days later I can't open all the apps without them immediately close it before they were properly open. I can't access PC to change the settings. I tried various solutions of MS and other Malware software. Both have had some effect, but not resolved the issue. I can now open apps, limited reach 95% of the installation of an update of windows instead of 0%, have the automatic internet connection... still have slow service, part 3 and MS preinstalled apps cannot be opened and no access to notebook settings.

Somewhere along the way 20 + new apps appeared, all administrative tools.

  • Restore HP Pavilion g6-2252sa Notebook PC to factory settings

    Can someone help

I have a HP Pavilion laptop 2252sa g6. I want to restore the operating system back to factory settings.

I can't make the hard disk recovery partition because it is not accessible. There is no recovery disk.

What I got is the MS windows 8 keys. I was on the site of microsoft for re - install the software. Unfortunately, recvoery software says that my windows key 8 ms is not retail. (even if it's a valid key for ms windows 8 key). Where can I get hold of a copy of ms windows 8 running on this key?

    Concerning

    Parry

    Hello

    There are two options.

    1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks - watching your model No. notebooks. You can live in the United Kingdom.  If that is correct, use the following link.

    https://www.best2serve.com/page/rcd_search?utm_source=HP-customer-care&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=RCD&utm_content=part_709042-031

2 your laptop was initially provided with Windows 8, the activation key is stored in the chip of the Bios, so you could create your own Windows 8 OEM installation disc.  There is a cap for the Image file to download, you may need to try the period of a few hours.  Activation occurs automatically using this method as the key is read from the bios during the installation process.

For more information about how to do this, see the post Hüffer 3rd on the following link.

There is no "Advance Setting" user that you are configuring. If user settings does not have this option, then you do not have this option.

    @Terry20

    Found this.

Click on the Start button and select settings.

    Then select devices.

Click on the mouse and touch pad and scroll down and select 'extra mouse Options '.

This will open a box that should have the information and the name of the type of touchpad has your computer.

Click on settings and then in the new box that opens, you should see a tab that says 'Tapping '.

Open this tab and you should see 'Three finger Tap' and 'four finger Tap.

Clear the check boxes, and then click 'apply '.

  • HP PAVILION NOTEBOOK 2000: need to reset to factory settings

I think the operating system was windows 8. At the moment all I get error message when starting upwards, Oxoooo605, for the most part tried everything, nothing works. I can't even do a recovery as its only gives me 10 windows, which I have not installed. Can someone tell me how to put hard back to factory settings? I realize that I won't lose everything, but I need to get this laptop operational. Product number is EOK744UA #ABA. Thank you very much.

    @jaydesgrandma:

Don't know how you tried resetting, but the instructions are in the linked material: perform a recovery of the system (Windows 8) HP | HP® customer support

What do you mean by " it's only give you Windows 10"? What this?

Microsoft, in their eagerness to get Win10 on 1 billion computers, is now FORCING Win10 upgrades to Win8x people running, making it very difficult to do routine Windows Update without updating AUTOMATICALLY to Win10.  If you did yourself updates of Windows, or even worse, if you have updates Windows automatically installs the value, then what would have happened is that (without your knowledge) began the upgrade Win10 in the background - and if that happened, one of the two outcomes could be: (1) your computer would now run Win10 (2) the upgrade would fail, leaving you with a damaged machine.

If the latter happened, unfortunately, an unpleasant side effect of the upgrade of Win10 is that it can corrupt the OEM recovery on the computer information, and if this happens, the HP recovery function will not work.

If you tell us more about what you were doing, which could help us understand the problem.

  • Product: HP Pavilion Notebook-PC G7, cannot access the bios settings/turn off the keys f1 - f12, please help!

I got this laptop PC in 2012, it is a series of G7, I'm pretty sure. My problem is that when I turn the computer off and turn it back on, there is no option to open the menu of the bios (esc) or any option besides. Just a symble blue HP directly in the middle of the screen with a symbol of little loading below him. I pressed ESC, f1 - f10 and virtually all other keys to try to access it. What I really want to do is to disable most annoying f1 - f12 function keys.

I'm no longer under warranty and my operating system is Windows 8.  There is also no error at all, just no response what that's right don't charge up to login password screen.

I see that you are looking to access the BIOS of your laptop Pavilion. You can't access BIOS in the same way on Windows 8, because you have a faction of a second to get the right timing because of the quick loading of Windows 8 feature. This third party link will show you how to access the UEFI that will lead to the BIOS. You can also do it from the Windows 8 login screen as this Microsoft link will show. Here is a document from HP support disable the function on some models Fn key combination +.

    Hey @Rahul_mk,.

Let me welcome you to the HP support community. If my answer to solve your problem or answer your questions, please inform others that this answer was helpful by clicking on the button accept as a Solution .

I understand that you have done an upgrade of BIOS, but it did not take well to your HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab522tx. You said that your laptop is now slow and games and movies are stuttering.

A lot of laptops HP have a HP BIOS restore tool that can recover the BIOS from a previous version and restore the basic features. Please follow the documentation to do a reset of the BIOS.

Have you tried to do a hard reset?

What version of BIOS go you to?

You said that 10 Windows is up-to-date.

Have you tried to use the HP Support Assistant's updates also?

You can try the following steps to reload the factory installed configuration of the BIOS settings:

    1. In the BIOS Setup utility, select the tab out.

    2. Select message Load Setup Defaults.

    3. Select Save Changes and Exit (pressing F5 and the Enter key will also load default configuration).

    4. Press ESC, then press Enter to exit the installation program.

If you need assistance, I would be more than happy to continue to help you. Please re-post with any information that you can help me find a solution for you. Please also let me know if the BIOS reset works. If you want to show appreciation for my efforts today, please take a second to click the Thumbs Up button below.
