  I have a pavilion g6-1b70us I'm trying to connect my TV with an hdmi cable.  I get a picture but no sound.  Previously, this worked without problems.  When I shoot to the top of my reading of the sound settings, the only options are speakers and the headphones.  When I shoot to the top of my devices, the Samsung TV is there, but it is described as a "generic monitor" (thinking it was weird).  I have uninstalled and reinstalled my intel graphics driver and IDC audio driver but still no sound through TV.  Also, I will mention that in sub control panel > sounds and devices there is a link to the SRS Premium Sound technology.  As you can see in the image below, the Samsung device is, but it is greyed out and cannot be selected. Can someone please?

  Well in case anyone is interested I have solved the problem (only took me 12 hours to understand, lol).  Apparently, even if the Samsung TV did not appear in the audio options, you can still right click in the empty box and a toggle option will appear.

  I had installed windows 8.1 on my dv7 want immediately after it was available. But I encountered some problems. Because of these problems I had to get off my pc to windows 8 and redownload all my Steam games, reinstall all my other programs and reconfigure everything.

  The problems I've had with windows 8.1

  -After that I closed my laptop it won't in hybernation and kept running. After I have reopend it the screen was black with only a cursor witch made me to force shutdown my laptop. That fact he took a few minutes to give the blue advanced startup options. I tried to close a few times but the same thing kept spending.

  -Skype for desktop PC has failed.

  -L' laptop was not as smooth as before and my fans where much more blows.

  I tried to solve the problems, but nothing really worked. This is why I would like to know if it is now operating normally and if none of my problems reappear.

  Last week, I bought toshiba L650D-100 with windows 7, 64 bit. Everything is good, but the USB ports work strange:

  USB mouse works ok at a port and does not to another. It is not in the windows Device Manager, but if I connect or disconnect the device, it sounds "ding".
  With USB storage there is another problem: it appears in Device Manager and it is shown that drivers are ok and the device are working properly, but if I try to open it in Explorer, it crashes, green progress bar grows and stops at the end. This problem appears in the two ports.

  If I reboot laptop with usb storage pluged, it can start to work correctly, but if I unplug and plug again the problem reappear.

  Usb storage and usb mice work well on another computer. I've updated the bios, but it does not help.

  Help, please. Maybe I should try to reinstall the chipset driver? If so, where could I get?

  In my opinion, you should follow the instructsions posted by Akuma. Recovery facility will show you if it s a hardware or software problem. ;)

  I bought a L750-EZ1 last week and it does not work very well.

  Sometimes when starting, already at the stage of loading the bios, the screen is white/transparent gray with a black stripe in the middle. If I wait, Windows loads but the screen remains like that. Cannot do anything but force shutdown by pressing the power button for more than 3 seconds. Sometimes, it charges the same way other charging very well, but then...

  ALWAYS, the laptop is already loaded and running under Win7 Home Edition 64-bit (OEM OS to come with the laptop already installed), the screen goes black, the computer crashes completely (no response to anything else > 3 seconds on the power button to close) and the fan starts to run at high speed.
  It happens always, sometimes before 1 minute after the start, others after several minutes. No rule. The basis of the computer is NOT hot when this happens.
  I have updated drivers through the Toshiba support website and no change.

  On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here.
  What I can say is follow: set the BIOS to default settings and reinstall the OS using HARD drive recovery facility. Check the functionality with the settings without changing anything. If the same will happen again and again, that I recommend to bring the laptop to your dealer and ask for replacement.

  I bought a Satellite A350-20s last weekend. Everything else seems good but I am struggling to connect wirelessly. It has Vista Home Premium.

  I have a Thompson TG585 v7 wireless router. My Lenovo T61 (WinXP SP2) can connect wirelessly with no problems however.

  When I am connected to the router via ethernet cable my Toshiba will connect to the internet fine. And when I'm sitting right next to my wireless router my Toshiba can connect wireless fine. But by the time I stray a little (even just 5 meteres!), it loses the connection.

  I didn't put a single software on my laptop, but since I bought it.

  It's very frustrating and any help would be really appreciated.

  Have you tried to update the driver WLAN and the BIOS? The two might increase the WLAN functionality, and in this case it should be updated. Simply visit the Web from Toshiba:

  I guess you're Windows Vista so you should Devil WLAN energy saving function. This can affect the WLAN functionality and so it should be disabled. You can find it on the Vista power management.

  My computer is slow, and none of the troubleshooting suggestions seem to help. I disabled all startup programs unnecessary, Defrag, my 'score' is a Norton 4.2 is no problem.  I have 6 GB of available ram 5.75. Yet when I operate, say, media library, it works very well for a few minutes and then slowing to the degree that if I can manage to drag the mouse to close the program, it takes several minutes to do.

  OK, I think I've made some progress - a full day of use of laptop with multiple tests of sleep and no crashes.   I think the problem is with the Setup program. I read somewhere that it automatically detects the type of OS, 32 or 64 bits and installs the corresponding version. In this case, Adobe will provide a different Installer to maintain a 32-bit version in a 64-bit system. Not very likely.
