Notification of update won't go away

Periodically, I find a text window small white small (approximately 1.5x0.5 inches) in the upper left corner of my screen, saying: "Dell Update / day/Last is your system scan (date) / Next scan (date)."

The last scan date will be the date of the day, the following analysis will be three days away.  The little window has no border or anywhere to click on it to get rid of him and behaves as if she's not here - if I hover or click it activates everything underneath.  However, because I can't move or do disappear, I can't tell what IS underneath.

As usual, just now, it is obscuring the first 1.5 inches of my Firefox address field, so if I want to see what's there / what I'm typing I have to resize/move the window of my browser (not a negligible amount of screen to lose on a laptop).  This thing will end by itself, but I have no way of knowing when this will happen.

It's really annoying and seems to be a kind of fault in the program, PROBABLY, nobody wanted it works this way.  You can help me find a way to make the thing go away?  When I open the updated Dell and recovery program, it has no useful information, not even a way to follow the updates that I see, I'd rather widely this obstacle little annoying and useless.

Thank you.

Mary

Hello Mary,.

I know that I'm probably too late to help you solve the problem, but I'll still answer my solution for people coming through this forum with the same problem. This solution was found on my Windows 10 operating system and may not apply to the situation of each.

Here is a quick procedure to solve this problem:

1) click on the button 'start '.

2) click on the 'Settings' option in the bottom left of the start menu

(3) in the search box (top right), enter "select icons appear in the task bar" and choose only the search result

(4) you will see a list of programs with a toggle switch On / Off next to them. Scroll down the list and find "Dell Update", then assign the switch toggle on. (An icon corresponding to the thumbnail next to "Update Dell" will appear to the right of your task bar)

5) click on the newly appeared icon and select "exit Dell Update. (Small annoying white box should disappear)

I understand that this does not stop the box to appear, but it should allow you to remove it when it seems.

I have the latest version of Skype, and my Windows laptop recently had an update. When I installed the update, it asked to reboot the laptop, on which I agreed to do. I got Skype and some other applications that are running and thought that it would hurt. I had been messaging my friend and she told me when I restart my laptop. I saw the message, but I just didn't had "open" the window. Then the thing emerged in the 'Force Shut Down"came, to which I agreed. When it rebooted and relit, I went to Skype, and he said I had a notification. I saw the conversation, but it does not go far. I tried the "marked as read", which did not work. I even tried manually restart my laptop and he claims that I have unread notification.

Finally, it disappeared after a while. I have no idea why, but he did. Thanks to all who tried to help!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry 8520 - icon won't go away?

    Hello

The logo shows from the Blackberry App World, with little through arrow and the Red Star of notification. I have the newest app world, all my applications have been updated last night. I did the battery pull, I left the battery out for half an hour and put again, and I have reinstalled and uninstalled various applications. The logo is always in the corner of my screen at run time, and it won't go away. It's really bugging me!

    Can anyone help?

Well, if there is no new messages on the app world or updates to all the other apps then I'll go with my 1st theory by saying it's bugged. Facebook and Appworld do for me on occasion, where a message icon won't go away, and the only way I make them go away is to uninstall and reinstall. Doesn't hurt to try.

  • No sound with audio volume on the screen box (won't go away)

I have a computer from a1747c with a monitor of w19e with internal speakers under vista (updated)

Suddenly the audio volume box appears centered on the screen and began to go to 0 and that's where he stays. And the internal speakers do not work. I tried to plug in headphones and external speakers, which both DO not work, but this audio volume box will not disappear on the screen. My thought is that the speakers are out?

I also went in for speakers Device Manager which States that everything is working properly. I can live with the external speakers, but this box just won't go away... Any ideas? or is it a problem of repair shop...

    Thanks for any help!

Having satisfied this market since March or so I came to the conclusion that it is the buttons on the monitor itself! your work? one of them? THE MINE NOT - AT ALL, NONE OF THEM. The way I found to get rid of this box is to hold down the button ON / OFF on the monitor for about 20 seconds (until he died)

  • I get a notification to update when you sign in to firefox. When you try to update you get the message "connection to Server", which can go about 4 hours and never update

I get a notification to update when you connect to firefox on my mac. When you try to update, I get a message "connect to Server" which can go over 4 hours and never update. It is most annoying. How can I remove that annoying popup which does not in any case all in ensuring that I have updated to the latest version?

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

Please report back to see if this helped you!

    Thank you.

  • How can I remove face Smooch? I uninstalled but it won't go away!

Added by mistake Snogging face with Youtube downloader. Uninstalled both, but face Kiss will not disappear. Snogging face Reloaded by site and it still won't go away. Its not on CC Cleaner or the other.

     SOLVED! THANKS

    Snogging face is Addon (Extension)

To uninstall a possibly unwanted extension, please proceed as follows:

    1. In the Firefox Firefox window click on the top left and select Add-onsor, if the Firefox button is not displayed, click the Tools menu, and then click Add-ons.
    2. Once the add-on Manager has opened in a new tab, click the Extensions button on the left side of the window.
    3. You should now see a list of your extensions installed on the right side and buttons on the right side of each extension.
    4. To remove an extension of Firefox, simply click on the Remove button. You should see a message that informs you about the deletion of the add-on.
    5. Note that some modules require a restart of Firefox to make it disappear completely. To perform a restart of Firefox after removal of add-on, click restart now in the message.

  • Tab home pages. Add also won't go away?

If I was on MLB.com and I saw this ad on get personas for your favorite teams, so I decided to click on it. Turns out that I was mistaken for download this addon called "Brandthunder. Usually, when I open a tab I have the blank page and gray with edges (I guess for groups of tabs?). But now I have this ridiculous page for a websearch with 'Brandthunder', when I really want to just the blank grey when I create a new tab. How to get back the old settings?

  • How to disable notification of update of pacifier?

I don't want to upgrade to lollipop but I get notifications of update that makes it nearly impossible to use the unit normally how to disable you fullscreen?

If you really want to get rid of the pacifier updated notification go to "Setting" and then scroll down to 'Apps' and select it. It will take you to another screen. Since it is asking you to update, you have downloaded the update that allows you to level. Under the "Download" tab scroll down until you find "Motorola Update Services" and select it. You have three options at the top, "Force shutdown, uninstall updates and turn off. Select "disable." It will then ask "delete data and disable app? Select 'OK '. It will then ask "do you want to replace this application with the factory version? Select 'OK '. You will be asked is more upgraded. If you ever want to just upgrade allow it under the app again on the "Disabled" tab in the application menu, just slide to the right and select. Don't forget to download the update of the playstore to allow the upgrade to Lollipop in the future.

P.S. If you're on Jellybean and want to get rid of the update groups to go to settings, apps and swipe at the all find them Motorola OTA tab and uncheck this box to prevent upgrade notifications. I don't know if the candy allows you to turn it off, but it is worth it if you really don't want to upgrade.

  • Notification of update come when connected to WiFi

Should I really connect to a WiFi network for the notification of update happen or normal mobile data would do that?

Because some Web sites say that notification update only appear if the phone is not connected to a WiFi network.

    Please answer soon.

    Thank you.

Updates start automatically when connected to Wi - Fi. You can change this in the settings of reading Google.

Do not have a Wi - Fi for all update as ROM update, update of the app, whatever it is. But Android will give you a notification on your connection. If you use a cellular connection, you will get a notification for download via Wi - Fi. This is because the cellular network connections can break in the middle of download and restart you the download. This can affect your data plan and download them. That's why they ask you to download via the Wi - Fi network. But still you can download them through cellular network ignoring the message.
