  My torch, I had set up hundreds of e-mail filters, so that the specified e-mail messages would not be delivered to the torch, but would appear in my Outlook Inbox on my company's network. More than 50% of my incoming e-mail traffic consists of items that I do not need or want on my mobile, I have to limit the items that require urgent attention. I can't get the device beep and buzzing for the whole of this email - just critical points. Where my need of the ability to filter which offers the torch. Q10 has this capacity?   These filters have been provided by BIS... which is no longer in the game with BB10. So, the answer is that you can do it in exactly the same way you used to do.

  But, think about server or rules others - client (e.g. Outlook). I do not know your corporate e-mail system, but many have the ability to allow you to define rules side server that will grind things to other folders and does so not on the BB. Or rules client side to an instance of Outlook (for example) that you leave running, if things are filed away to other folders soon.

  So, while you can't make the same way you used to, there are alternatives and solutions. If your condition is to do it in exactly the same way you used to, indeed so you will need to return to a device that does not use BIS.

• Notification app and tile mail ceased to work under tension

  I use my Gmail e-mail and live accounts with the application Mail in Windows 8. First day, I've upgraded to Windows 8, I've set up the app and push a large notification has worked for two accounts, no delay and notifications displayed even when I'm in the office. It was the only time that it worked. The next day, the app would not be anything, notify the office or in the start screen. I tried to turn the setting to 'See the notification for this email' off and on once again, and I made sure the setting under the PC mail notification is on too. Live webcam tile stopped working too. Simply put, I do not change any setting of what I myself work on the first day. So what's the problem? What is the point of the Mail app if now I need to open the application itself to check new emails.

  Tried to reinstall the app and now it works again. I vaguely remember there was an update of the application Mail a couple of days, but I'm not too sure. Disappointing but if it is true and I have to reinstall every time an update is available.

  I silenced my e-mail notifications. Too much. The flashing light is fine.  But I would like to receive a notifcation sound for text messages, which are more like phone calls, in my humble OPINION.

  You can silence notifications for individual applications.  Open the e-mail (Gmail), the menu tap application, settings and scroll down to notification settings and choose 'silent' ringing pull down.  If you have multiple Gmail accounts, make sure that you are on the correct account before making the change.  (Or make sure you change all.)

  2. Right click on it to bring a menu
  3. Choose Properties from the menu
  4. Go to Notification area tab
  5. Click Customize to change the settings for each icon that appears in the notification area
