Can someone explain what happened? All the available themes are the current non-transparent theme, called 'Modified Theme' and the classic Windows theme.
It's really strange and really very boring, simply because I didn't ask for this.Everything I have done differently was click on the button that says "downloads and installs updates before Shutting Down", in the usual area where is the sleep button.Any help would be much appreciated.Hello
Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.
You should only get the latest drivers for them to real hardware manufacturer's website, as Microsoft normally does nor those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft relies of the 3rd party hardware Manufactuer to provide.
But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one by one, until you find the 'wrong' for your installation.
You can do a system restore to get back until it has been installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:
'Remove an update'
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update
When you have found the issue of update of the list of updates which is presented > then right click on the update problem > select Hide update > and it will not be available to you once again
"How to hide or show an update of Windows Vista"
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/72491-Windows-Update.html
Here's how to chanage update settings, if you think it is necessary to:
"Understanding Windows Update and Extras in Windows Vista and Windows 7.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/Windows-Vista-updates-and-extras/
Or the other of these two update settings will give you the chance to see what you want to install through Windows updates;
Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.
Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.
But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system
See you soon.

I too have a problem installing windows error1601. I went through the steps to get services and found that this installer of windows is gone. How can I get that back?
Try to run the Windows Installer Cleanup http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility.shtml utility to see if that solves the problems with windows install.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

I'm working on a HP IQ504. After some difficulties, IE9 has been installed. I get now update KB2797052 to install several times. 18 times in the last seven days. How can I stop this update to do this? Thank you for your help
Hi Lenny,
Were there any changes (hardware or software) to the computer before the show?
Click on the link below and see if it helps.
Windows Update or Microsoft Update repeatedly offers the same update
Note: Check the title that indicates How to solve the problem if the update has been installed
Note: the Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
The Microsoft Safety Scanner is not a replacement for the use of antivirus software that offers continuous protection.
Hope this information helps.

Re-installed Windows XP, how do I update the service packs?
I had a computer startup problem and had to re - install Windows XP. I went to the download site (AutoUpdate is no longer active), and he advises the 3 service pack updates must be installed in the order. When I try to install the original service pack, he abandoned the installation process saying that the server is not responding.
How can update Windows XP SP3?
Or is - it is no longer possible?
Repair install is rarely desirable. They are delicate, a number of things can go wrong, and to minimize the number of things that can go wrong, to do a little prep work.
If done correctly, a repair installation will leave all installed programs and data (documents, mp3s, photos, etc.) intact.A clean install of course means that the drive is wiped and established a blank instance of an operating system. -
If I bought a computer with windows 8 is already installed (windows 8 sucks) can I uninstall it and install windows 7? Windows 8 has to be the worst software ever. It is like going back to the iceage of computers. The LAGS and timing on is horrible. I expect right cruse, that she does not exist. It's like a person driving a car with their foot constantly on the brake.
You will first need to go to the website of manufacturers for your model computer and first find out if there are native drivers in Windows 7. A large number of computers that are preloaded with Windows 8 have no native driver support for Windows 7 by the manufacturer. If there is no native driver, you will need to consider returning the machine and buying a machine preloaded with Windows 8 Pro with downgrade rights to Windows 7 Professional. Or look through the catalogue of manufacturers for systems already preloaded with Windows 7, usually the business sector will have these options.

Original title: installation of Windows 8.
If you bought a laptop and you want to install Windows 8 Professional, can install you it directly or you must have a base like Windows 7 Stater license?
Hello
The only FULL of Windows 8 Pro version would be the OEM System Builder... everything else is an upgrade...
Unlike Win 7 and earlier versions, Microsoft is not offering one COMPLETE Win 8 other than OEM package...
The difference is that the OEM version has no support from Microsoft... If you have a problem, you are on your own... Just enjoy the Forums and for any issues that arise...
Providing that there are drivers available for your laptop to win 8, it should work...

After you have installed Windows 10, I can no longer create a PDF of my program Pagemaker 7.0.1. Purchased Acrobat DC, but still no joy. Apparently, Acrobat PDF maker does not recognize the .pmd extension. I get errors and various suggestions, but nothing works. WHAT?
Print to Adobe PDF? Why the * & ^ * & ^ V_ $ didn't pay a lot more money to Adobe for an Adobe program that does not work with another Adobe program? Oh, right--they want to move me up (buy) the new Adobe graphics programs. I'll keep sweating this point and will no doubt wind up forking over a thousand$ $$ or so for 'new' stuff I don't need.

I have InDesign CS5.5 for 2 systems - my laptop crashed and I now have a new with Windows 8.1. I downloaded the correct version of InDesign, but when I enter my l series #, the message reades # is valid, but the software cannot be found on the system. It seems that the program PageMaker 7 which is not on the new computer. How can I load my InDesign CS5.5 on the new computer laptop?
If you purchased InDesign CS5.5 as an upgrade then it looks like it's showing that you need to provide information about the old version where you improved since he found nothing that qualifies. You must only choose the old version and serial number. (I don't know anything about InDesign, nor how it might relate to PageMaker).

Hi JDSoor,
Thanks for posting. Two or more instances of the service Msiexec.exe cannot be launched at the same time for two different products. An install or repair processes should finish before the other process can be launched. Go to processes in the Manager of tasks (so press CTRL ALT + DELETE) then press the processes tab and look for to MSiexec.exe and press "end process." You may need to do more than once.
I hope this helps. Let us know if this or do not resolve your problem.
Thank you
Shawn
