NT Kernel & System using 100% of CPU

Hello

I just bought a new laptop with Window Vista Home Basic. The laptop has 3 GB of ram. I just read an article online and then I begin to hear the laptop fan run like crazy. then I went on the resource monitor and there was a picture/program that used for 95% of my cpu and it was my system with "NT kernel and system. It's happened more than 30 minutes. Others as to restart the computer, what can I do on this "NT kernel and system" eating up 95% of my CPU?

I had the same problem on my HP Vista desktop at home for a few weeks. I read that someone solved the same problem by updating a firmware of hardware, so I opened the resource monitor and started to unplug all of my material, one at a time. Now, I have disconnected my adapter USB Belkin, NT Kernel & system down to 0% and my computer completely thawed. The same adapter was only cause me a lot of grief for months it wouldn't react whenever my computer out of standby. I'll update the driver and firmware to see if that helps - otherwise garbage goes in the trash. I recommend the hardware turn off/Unplug (especially if you have with strange behavior) until the problem stops, then the replacement or update of this material.

  • Satellite L850-1V8 - 'System' process (PID 4) uses 100% of CPU

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L850 1V8 with windows 8.1 64 bit on it.

I encounter the following problem: some times when I start the system, the 'System' (PID 4) NT kernel process begins to spin, taking up 100% of any one heart.

This happens about 3-5 minutes after that the system is in place, but a few times I saw him from the hours later.
I have to restart the system to make this problem go away.

Someone at - there experience this problem?
No idea where to start looking for a solution?

These processes can be associated with any software / application running in the background system

But I know kernel NT & system could be generated by http.sys uses port 80.

That would mean that and would mean that a piece of software like IIS (internet Information services) could be responsible for this process in the background.

  • mscorsvw.exe using 100% of cpu - Windows xp

Yesterday my computer has finished 17 automatic updates.  Since then, my computer has been bogged down and keeps freezing.  The CPU is at 100% pretty much all the time.  According to me, there are 2 mscorsvw entered in the Task Manager.  I tried to stop him without success.  I followed the instructions to get to the command prompt, but it keeps giving an error message when I try to make the process of ngen.exe executequeueditems.

Thanks for your suggestion.  I tried everything without success.  Finally, I out my hard drive and installed as a second drive in another computer.  I then ran scans using Malware, Spybot and AdAware.  AdAware found 13 malicious infections, Spybot found one.  After that, it worked perfectly.

Also - I installed Revo Uninstaller (the pro version with a 30 day free trial) - and ran all components.  The program cleaned up the drive beautifully and it now works better than ever.

  • Unique guest VM uses 100% of CPU Guest, but only 7% of the CPU host (includes screenshots)

We have a Dell T420 ESXi 5.5 server.  The host has to a single UC E5-2407 (4 Core 2.2 GHz without Hyperthreading), 16 GB of RAM and RAID storage.

The host runs a single VM Windows Server 2008, which was a P2V conversion.  The virtual machine is currently assigned 1 Plug and 4 Cores, corresponding to the host CPU.

Since implementing this server about a year ago, he had a problem recurring pop up every few months.  When the problem occurs, the Server 2008 VM suddenly max use of the processor and the terrible performance, but CPU is be contributed to the maximum, not by a single program, but several normal processes.  For example, WMI, explorer.exe and the Task Manager may show all 30% CPU usage.  In the meantime, even if the guest virtual computer has 100% CPU usage, the host will show only using 300 to 500 MHz of CPU, or about 7% of available.  It comes despite the fact that it is the unique virtual machine and has full reign of all the resources of the host.  If the problem seems to be not with an abnormal load on the Guest VM, but less than the resources of the host.

Restart the virtual machine does not correct the problem, and restart, which normally takes only a few minutes, lasts 30 minutes.  In the past, restart the ESXi host temporarily solved the problem, however it popup until today and persists even after several reboots of ESXi host.  See the attached screenshots for parameters and symptoms:

    Other troubleshooting steps:

We changed number of vCPU on the VM from 4 to 1, without change.

We put the CPU reserve for the VM to 50% and 100%, no change.

The machine virtual was version 8 and we have updated to version 9, no change.

Has anyone ever experience this problem?  Any help towards a solution would be appreciated.

    Hello

I would say that it is somehow related to the fact that the VM was converted from physical server. Here are a few questions you should ask yourself:

Type of CPU on the computer old physical host and VM match? At least seller of CPU? It goes the same for the chipset: are there different chipset vendor on the two hosts?

What type of card NETWORK VM uses?

Has uninstalled the drivers card mother/CPU specific converted VM? The VM tools are installed?

Uninstall the old drivers of VM, currently they are not visible in the Device Manager here some is read: http://itknowledgeexchange.techtarget.com/virtualization-pro/removing-old-hardware-after-a-p2v-conversion/

I would also check the BIOS of the server - maybe there is some sort of option for active energy that interfere with the VM?

    • Windows Media Center Receiver Service

    Hello

I think this explains the problem.  The 2 entries here should be deleted, because the first will try to index all of your user profile and the second will attempt to index all of the Windows Partition.

    C:\Users\Rick

    C:\

To remove them, click to the left of the entrance, highlight it, and then click Remove.  When these two entries have been removed, reboot the laptop and you should find that the problem has been resolved.

    Kind regards
