Number of COA and Vista express upgrade - MODUSLINK

I finally managed to get hold of someone at Moduslink on my request to upgrade to vista now show invalid. It seems that I gave the wrong number of COA from the recovery disk came with the laptop. NO, this isn't what they want - they want one on the sticker of microsoft on the bottom of the laptop that starts with a triple 000.

If you gave a wrong number then you will have to contact them on 00800 666 44 666 and they erase the application and you can re apply after 24 hours and, hopefully, everything should work. Be prepared to wait a while on the phone that they are very busy. According to them, if all goes well, then the product should be sent in time 4-6 weeks.

Hi Gordon

Thanks for sharing this info with us. I remember that someone has asked for the number of COA.
The number of COA starts with 000 :)
It might be useful for others who want to upgrade Vista

  • BEFW11S4 v.4 and Vista - firmware upgrade failure

    Hello

I've had this router for about 5 years, it runs with XP without any problem. Since I got a new laptop with Vista, the wireless connects for an hour or two, and then falls back and I have to unplug the router for five seconds, then reconnect to reconnect (my other laptop with XP has not this problem).

I understand that there is compatibility between the BEFW11S4 v. 4 and Vista problems so I tried to update the firmware of dartybox.com and kept getting a message that failed. I hard rebooted the router but button of restart 30 seconds and the upgrade has always failed. I so re-set to factory settings through the online admin to the router, re-uploaded the implementation level and still got the emssage failed (I am sure that the model number & version is correct and I download the appropriate firmware upgrade).

Is there anything else I can do another one) buy a new router; (b) living with school drop-outs; (c) remove Vista and go back to XP?

    Thank you

    Bigdank

Genius! I have changed the name of code.bin, went to the admin > tab upgrade firmware and the upgrade file. I had a wireless without interruption ever since, even after the awakening of the laptop to sleep.

    Thanks for your help

You cannot use a Windows 7 Professional anytime upgrade product key with reinstall media, it can be used only to upgrade license of qualification basis where you bought the upgrade in the first place (Starter, Home Premium).

The first thing you need to do is to get your key to Windows 7 Professional upgrade Express:

An e-mail containing your product key will be sent to the e-mail address associated with your Windows Live ID account or e-mail address you provided if you ignored the account configuration. Note: If you use an email tool or spam blocker spam filter, be sure that you can receive e-mail messages from microsoft.com.

What happens if I lose my product key?

If you lose your product key, you can return to

www.Windows7.com/GetKey and sign in using the "Sign In" link in the upper right of the page. This will allow to recover your product key if you have established your account with your Windows Live ID. If you do not configure a Windows Live ID account initially there is no record of your online product key. Check your e-mail since it is the only trace of your product key.

    or

Here are four utilities, which can display your product keys if they are still there:
    Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
(He did a good job of providing a wealth of information.)

and RockXP: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4138.html which has additional features.

The next thing you need to do is to reinstall the base license that you upgraded, Windows 7 Starter Edition or Home Premium.

If your computer is pre-installed with Windows 7:

New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.
    ------------------------------------
This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...
For Dell, press F8 on the keyboard until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears on the screen.
For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward
For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo
For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.
For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...
For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power
Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"
Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

  • Question on the Windows Vista express upgrade terms

Microsoft.com tell me that the machines of qualification will be eligible for an upgrade to Vista if purchased between October 26, 2006 and March 2007
    (http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=5559472).

I had ordered a L100 with XP Pro just before the arrival of the MS mail. Microsoft UK license Dept. had never heard of the plan when I called them this morning. Someone to Toshiba or elsewhere knows what it is all about and what

I have to do to get Vista on favourable terms, the time is right?

    Hello

I first heard about these terms.
I studied a bit on the net and found this Toshiba site on this topic:
    http://www.toshibadirect.com/TD/B2C/ebtext.to?page=vistaupgrade

Anyway, the Vista will come on the market next year and I think that before Vista is not official buy you can't wait no term. I think next year you can find more information about this action

In my opinion, you should monitor the link above from time to time.

  • Windows Vista Express Upgrade in Slovakia?

Hi, a few days back (3 January 2007), I bought Toshiba Satellite A100-912. Between documents grouped in this laptop there is a flyer who briefed me on the Web site for this opportunity to upgrade (http://www.toshiba-europe.com/vista%2Dupgrade/). Now, I don't see Slovakia here, but instead, I see Europe (EU). So the question is - it is possible to upgrade to Vista on my Toshiba and if yes, then what is the correct procedure to do? Instructions are described in the http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/Contents/Toshiba_teg/EU/Others/Generic/2006-10-Vista/pdf/2006-10-Vista-How-to-get-upgrade-EN.pdf valid for the Slovakia too?

    Thanks for any information.

Here you can find the link for the Vista upgrade program. I try to see how it works and I noticed that you can order for the Czech Republic, but not for the Slovakia. I don t understand your language but I assume you can understand much better because you can choose your language.

  • Windows Vista Edition upgrade Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional

Hi!, I need help.  I tried to understand the upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 but I have not been able to fully understand the various issues.  My dilemma is this. I have a House runing PC with Windows Vista Home Premium and I want to install a version of Windows 7 Professional.  The package I have indicates whether an upgrade, but when playing in the homepage of Microsofts, in my view, that I understand that to switch from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional, I need to do a full install, not an upgrade.  Because my package bed upgrade, I don't know if it contains the program needed to make an installation full or not.  I don't want to start and install and find out in the middle that I don't have the good disk to complete the task.  Could someone who knows about it could give me the right path to follow. I will be very greatfull for any guidance. Thank you.

See this simplified table of upgrade: http://i.zdnet.com/blogs/windows-upgrade-chart-eb-remake-final3.png?tag=col1;post-1246

Vista Home Premium upgrade to Win7 professional will require one in Place (i.e., update Win7 Home Premium) and an Express Upgrade (from Win7 Home Premium to Win7 professional).

That said, Windows Update has nothing to do with the upgrade of Windows. • Licensing issue? I need to replace the default motherboard with a 'Detail' education Vista Ultimate Upgrade on top of XP "OEM." Can legitimately transfer my license everywhere and how?

I am currently a computer on which I already installed XP OEM and upgraded to the edition upgrade Vista Ultimate retailers through the ultimate steal Microsoft.

    [Reminder]

The problem I have is that I've recently updated my graphics card to a card of Nvidia 7300GS card Nvidia GT240 on which my motherboard was properly assessed. However, due to some unfortunate circumstances (I dunno if it's associated graphics or an electrical surge problem, I suspect the latter as the card is fine) my PCI Express slot is fried! This resulted in the motherboard being unable to start any card in the PCI Express slot and gives a series of BIOS beep error codes. I even dug my old graphics (7300GS) and he was still unable to boot. Accordingly, I need to replace the motherboard for the PCI Express slot works if I use a graphics card.

    [Problem]

Since the license Vista Retail Upgrade that I use currently is the edition of 'detail', can I simply change my motherboard everything and turn it back on, or is it more complex because it is installed on the high XP OEM that is bound to the default motherboard? What are my options?

I have to buy another XP OEM license and reinstall everything from scratch? What happens if I didn't reinstall and just changed the motherboard and drivers updated my current installation? Is - is this legitimate?

As I understand it, the Windows for OEM license allows a person replace a motherboard of 'default' (GA-M55plus-S3G in my case) for a replacement under certain conditions, mainly as for everything. Am I entitled to it? If so, what motherboard would be I can replace by although it is considered an upgrade? I have in mind an ASUS M4A78L-M as it is cheap and comes with connectors female jack audio 8 channels on the backplate was on my old motherboard.

My main confusion is to know what license applies to me because of the upgrade process, retail of Vista or XP OEM? Upgrades medium I improve my driver's license?

I would like to solve this problem without canceling my licenst but just don't know how?

Thank you very much for any help or advice.

In the buttom is a buffer with the key number.

I have the CD with Vista 32 and Vista 64

    2. I would like to format the C drive.

    3. can I install Vista 64, from the CD?

    Thank you for your help

No worries. Yes, you can perform an installation of Vista with the DVDs you have. You can reformat the hard drive as part of the installation.

Before you start, go into the Device Manager to see what wireless adapter, graphics card and network card is installed and write it down. This will allow you to save time.

You will need the following DVD that you said that the laptop came with...

Operating system DVD of Windows Vista Business SP1 (64 - en)

Application and Driver Recovery DVD 32-bit and 64-bit for Windows Vista

Note the twenty five characters activation of license key before starting. Enter it on the request for the installation of Windows script. Once the installation is complete, use the disk to install the drivers. If HP Support Assistant is available on the disk driver and application, install also.
