  I am very new to numbers. I have a spreadsheet and a column, I have the following:-

  AB071602 then below I have AB071604 and so on - I have to do is to change the 07 to the 08 and 16 and 17 on each cell, more than 200. I know there is a way to do this with a formula in excel, but I'm not sure about numbers? I don't want to sit and manually change each cell.

  I also have all these numbers in another column and have a .jpeg at the end of each of them, once again, I'm sure there must be a formula to add it automatically.

  the id of the original photo is in column A and the name of the update file is in column B (in this example.

  I have an RTF template that formats a report to output HTML, PDF, Excel and Excel2000.

  I want to see negative numbers in square brackets, without a hyphen, by example-2568 as (2568) for the purpose of accounting reports.

  I tried different solutions to this problem that I found,

  #, ##0;(#,##0) is not good because it only works in HTML or PDF format

  #,##0_);" (« #, ## 0 ») "also not good that the format does not seem to be recognized.

  I saw another post that is to make a conditional script on the number and the concatenation in brackets, but I can do it in SQL cast to varchar type data extraction, treat numbers as strings.

  Is there an identifier of real formatting which works in all types of output files or is it a feature not supported?

• Incorrect page numbers after conversion of Excel to PDF

  I used Adobe Standard for years to convert multi-tab Excel files to pdf format.  I have the foot of page set up for the number of page X of Y at the bottom of each page.  I can print to PDF and page numbers are correct.  However, if I use convert pdf component software plug-in, the pages of each show page 1 of 1 down.  It started when I bought a new workstation with Office 2010 and Adobe X standard.  I spent 3 hours with Adobe personal tech support trying to correct to have come back them to say that this feature no longer exists with Adobe X, but then to escalate the issue to a higher level.

  Does anyone else have this problem?  I want a solution, rather than work around the problem, because this software is not cheap and it is essentially the only thing that we use it for.

  I have older versions of Adobe, but they are not compatible with Office 2010, it seems that I am stuck between the hammer and the anvil!

  Please let me know if there are additional details or if someone noticed!

  I use Office 2010 Pro and Acrobat X Pro.  I've found a workaround as follows:

  (1) on the Ribbon, click on 'File' and select 'Save as '.

  (2) to "Save as Type", select "PDF".

  (3) under "Options" Select "entire workbook.

  4) click "Save".

  It works for me, I hope this is a help to you.  It's a shame that we cannot just convert like we used to do.

  I use a 13 "MBA (early 2015) and tested iWork. I'm pretty well satisfied with Pages and Keynote, in fact, I think they are better than their counterparts of Ms. However, I think that numbers 3.6.2 requires a lot of improvements to make is easier to use.

  Suggestions/problems I find are:

  1. Formula bar: the floating formula bar is extremely painful. The braces are not visible and if the formula is entered in a cell at the extreme right of the screen, I don't see even what I type the formula. Lock the position of the formula bar in a place like the top of the screen and make more visible braces.
  2. Graphics: To add plot data graphic existing are much clearer in Excel than in number. Please do not complicate and have a dialog box and add simple data plot similar to excel. The current is not obvious and even tutorials are absent in this regard.
  3. AutoFill: Excel has an AutoFill button located on the lower right of the cell cursor, just double click on will apply the same model/formula down the column. It is a well used service for anyone who uses spreadsheets and please do it as simple as, rather than to reach the menu bar to autofill.
  4. Formula database: must be updated on the equivalent with excel.

  I have a program of 12 pages for an auction and I need on the back on each program to be numbered from 1 to 250.  I know how the pages number, but how do I get it so I can print it under 250 different posters with the back being numbered differently?  Any help would greatly be apprectiated.

  If you send this to print, ask your provider impression if they offer variable data printing. You can have numbers printed from an excel list as you would on a piece of mail addresses.

  You may also choose to use mail merge in Microsoft Word, to do something similar.

  These are probably the cheapest options, the best options require software. Perhaps there is a plug-in that could help.

• Numbers - cannot export to PDF

  I have the 08 numbers version 1.0.3

  I'm more able to export numbers in pdf or excel format.  I save the file/worksheet in numbers, then export to pdf or excel format.  When I do this I get the following message is displayed "the export failed.  The selected file or location (drive or directory) is read-only.

  I created new calculation sheets in case there is a bug in the original file.  Same message.

  I tried to create, and then record the Numbers worksheets in different folders and then export - same message.

  I can export Pages documents in the folders where it has failed with numbers - if this isn't a problem with the files.

  I have been exporting documents of numbers as pdf for centuries.  The last I did successfully was 6 weeks ago - I think not I changed my settings to cause this problem.

  I went to disk utilities - these are the results.  Made no difference.

  It seems that numbers cannot open ' workbook Excel 5.0/95 (.xls) ' which can still sometimes the only format available for download from some websites.

  But the number should be able to open "the Excel 97-2004 (.xls) workbook" and, of course, ".xlsx".

  The features of each file ".xls" or ".xlsx" import as expected, but you should not experience too many problems with the leaves containing mainly data and common formulas.

  Specifically, hyperlinks on excellent are not transferred correctly.

  It is an old bug of 15 year that Adobe refuses to fix up the place the blame on Apple and Ms. Its been priven over and over again this is not with Apple or Mac they just do not want to fix it or don't know how. Until Adobe goes belly up (if they ever in the future) they won't fix this bug.

  As long as the excel file does not have macros and VBA.  If you have iWork of Apple package then open 'numbers' and import the excel file. Make sure that your links are still working.

  Register now as a numbers document first. Then export back as Excel Document.  You can do the same thing with any version of OpenOffice as NeoOffice, OpenOffice, LibreOffice (my favorite stay more up-to-date). Now create your PDF in Excel. The links should be.

  in the link above as l11moon discovered that all what you need to open a large file number is patience, in his case it took about an hour.  I had a similar problem and my file of numbers had 34 minutes of cpu (plus one hour of wall) to open on iMac, retina, 4 GHz i7 with 16 GB 5 K.  The file has 2 sheets: 49760 x AV, 4833 hugs x passes passes to THE.  It's 4 month data and my project requires at least a 1 year collection, so I go on the road to 150 000 lines in the first sheet. Of what I discovered that it seems that the number is limited to 256 columns of 65K lines and also I can't wait an hour or more for the file to open, I am so looking for another product.  Is there a cloud version of numbers, as the leaves of Google?  If Yes, what is the line x col limits.  Not sure about Excel limit either, but I like what I see in looking at MySQL - https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/table-size-limit.html , but that will be a learning curve.

  As you have discovered, numbers are not designed to handle large volumes of data.

  The maximum size of an individual table is 255 columns and rows 65 335, but even in the absence of the calculated cells, the app will slow considerably well before you reach these limits. ICloud numbers are available, but even once, the design goal was not great set of management data.

  Sizes of spreadsheet in MS Excel (and in desktop applications open source with a design similar to Excel) are much more important. If a spreadsheet application can handle your needs, Excel, or an 'open' version is the best tool. If your look to MySQL at you plan a Data base application would be a better fit, I suggest you also check FileMaker Pro.

  Hi, I'm trying to find the update of the BIOS for a Satellite A215-S4817. I tried several BIOS updates for numbers of similar but not exact model without success.

  In addition, this Web of Toshiba site does not recognize my serial number, and it cannot complete the application auto-defaut either. Maybe I have a more serious problem? The real problem is that my laptop will crash occasionally (screen goes completely black), but a hard restart to fix it. I was told I need to update BIOS, but maybe I need something different.

  The screen is supposed to close during a call. As soon as you press it against your ear, the proximity sensor is turning off screen, in order to avoid "plays the numbering" or similar effects.

  If the screen is not active as soon as you lift the phone to your ear, check if the proximity on the top of the screen sensor is not covered by a protective film or the case, if you use one.

  Have you ever tried to force reboot the phone by holding down the button sleep and home for 10 seconds, until the Apple logo comes back again?

  You won't lose data by resetting, but it can cure a few glitches.

  To make sure that it is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any data backup later. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone.

  If the phone works again, restore the last backup. If the problem returns, the data backup contains damaged data, causing your issues.

  If this still does not work after that, get the phone checked for hardware problems by visiting an Apple store or Apple authorized service next to your site provider.

• The upgrade of processor in a P6 - 2326S

  I am trying to upgrade the processor in a Pavilion P6 - 2326 S to an Intel i7 - 2700 K (95W, LGA1155) CPU.  My question is simple.  I just want to know what is the max processor can I upgrade this P6-2326 desktop computer to?  I don't want to buy 14 different of those of "try and see if it works."  Here's my question:

  I went to the page of specification of the HP product to this desktop computer (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03509229) and it displays a list of 14 'supported' upgrades of the processor.  Based on this information, I bought a processor image Intel Core i7 - 2700K (number 11 on the list) and tried to install it.  After turning on the PC it briefly (a few seconds) all CPU information shows correctly and then has a message that says: "error: unsupported CPU installed.»  Then it stops immediately.

  After entering a support ticket with HP, a support level 1 had me disable Secure Boot option in the BIOS and try to restart the PC.  This has no effect.  They have escalated to the 2nd level.  After speaking with the most rude, rude and ignorant customer support ever (Richard), I was informed that the list provided by HP 'caught' processors is "just a suggestion of possible compatible processors, which may or may not work."  It is a direct quote.  His only solution was to buy a processor and try it.  If it worked, congratulations.  If this is not the case, try another.

  With some difficulty, I got my case degenerate to an Executive Manager of case (Greg).  Again, the official position of HP is that upgrades, "may or may not work."  Greg suggested that the manufacturer of the motherboard (Foxconn).  I did and their response was that they manufacture the motherboard for HP to HP specifications, this is why all questions should be directed to HP.  Had a mother looking for similar numbers of similar models of their Web site, and it shows the same list of supported processors.  Greg outright lied to me on the phone, saying that he considered as conflicting as to the i7 - 2700 K actually compatible with the motherboard.  He will not mention its Web page reference.  I couldn't find this contradictory information.

Please buy and install a Intel i7-2600 processor because it's probably the best processor will support this motherboard.

• Files read-only on the network.

  Hello.  I use Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  I have a home network with a second computer (Win XP pro) configuration.  My problem with my Windows 7 computer.  I can create and modify files it contains very well.  However when I access those files on the network, EITHER from the 2nd computer the same computer (which is connected to the computer 1, from computer1, via the network) they open read-only.  The curious symptom is that the files are read-only even when I connect to computer 1 to Computer1.  Any thoughts on this problem?

  -Files are not selected in their properties read-only.

  -There is only 1 account for both computers on the network, and this user is a member of the Administrators group.

  -This happens for all files.  I found an article about a known problem similar to Excel files.  I followed the instructions in this article, does not.

  -What happens when the files are located in C:\temp, C:\Users\\Desktop\temp and Documents C:\Users\Public\Public (supposed to be a shared folder).

  Any help would be great.

  Check the authorization/security.

  Problems of permission and security with Vista/Win7, check the following settings.

  Point to a folder that wants to share do right click and choose Properties.

  In the properties

  Click on the Security tab shown in the bellows of the photo on the right) and verify that users and their permissions (see photo below Centre and left) are configured correctly. Then do the same for the authorization tab.

  The Security Panel and the authorization Panel, you need to highlight each user/group and consider that the authorization controls are verified correctly.

  When everything is OK, restart the network (router and computer).

  * Note . All the users who are allowed to share need to have an account on the computers they are allowed to connect to everyone is an account, that means a group of all users who already have an account now as users. This does not mean everyone who feel they would like to connect.
