numerical integration

Hello

I would like to ask, how is it possible to numerically integrate a function and to get all the little pieces (points) on the graph I table 1 d with a lot of points, and when I tried to use for loop for the integrative function, I have an error on different date types.

Thank you

Not Integral x (t) .vi of mathematics > palette integration & differentiation do you want?

Why people use the graph VI XY build when a simple beam node will do?

I control a differential robot mounted by two motors. I use encoders to detect the movement of the robot. I kinematic equations for the linear and angular speed of the robot using wheel from coders speed reading. Now, my problem is how to make digital integrations for speeds resulted.

I need to know a method to do the numercal integration.

Hello.  I guess you're wanting to integrate the speed to track the position of your robot?  LabVIEW has Integration & differentiation screw that should do the job.  In addition, depending on the configuration of your robot, you can calculate directly measured the count position of the encoder based on the resolution of the encoder and the diameter of the wheel.  I hope this helps!

  • Integration with 50G

    Hello!

Well, when I tried to compute the definite integral of | Sin x | I received the message cannot find the signin [0, 2 ft].

I went in RPN mode, and this error persists. I then used [RS] [ENTER] to get the numeric result, and after awhile, I got the correct answer 4. But I can't get the answer simplely by clicking [EVAL].

I also tried to calculate the antiderivative, and the correct answer returned Calculator -cos (x) * sign (sin (x)). I was wondering why the calculator produces an error when they apply for an accurate result (not digital, without .).

    Jack

confirming the latest set of equations:

    EVAL would be = - 1

    and -> limit X PI - 0 = 1

and the limit X-> PI = cannot determine.

    So, there's a singularity...

Unfortunately, because of the resolution of the screen of 50 G, when the resulting equation for the indefinite integral is drawn, clear breaks in the plot IP and 2 * PI are not 100% clear.

However, the subsequent calculations confirm that they exist.

This is what has been shown that when the original integral from 0 to 2PI of | Sin (x) | is calculated,

It is clear that the 50G automatically sets ON RIGOUREUX, even if it is not enabled in the (likely due to the function absolute value in the equation) indicators.

THE rigorous is perfectly reasonably expect when the EXACT mode is selected with a function of absolute value.

now for a pencil and paper method:

    | Sin (x) | is sin(x) from 0 to PI

    | Sin (x) | is - sin (x) IP to 2PI

    so...

integral from 0 to 2PI of | Sin (x) | can also be expressed in

integral from 0 to PI of Sin (x)

    +

integral of the AP to 2PI of-sin (x)

in EXACT MODE (strict mode setting is more questions)

When EVAL would be = 4.

I can refer you to a message done previously by Bernard Parisse (one of the developers of CASE).   Bernard said that the CASE cannot intercept all EXACT integration singularities (but it report some).

Regarding the digital approximation method (help-> NUM) to get the result... I can't offer no answer as to the reason that the singularity is resolved.

I've never seen a single post indicating what type of digital approximation algorithms are used for approximate integration with the 50G.  Of course, the digital approximation algorithms are distinguished by exact calculations.

Finally, FYI, here is another good example of the use of 50G with an integral and having to use a bit of paper and pencil methodology (in this case, the method of cauchy principal value) to solve the 50G of the singularity.

  • integration simple cosine

I'm testing the integration in LabVIEW full 2010 with 1 d VI digital integration.  the VI of the sample in which a cosine waveform is pulled apart and feeds a VI 1 d numerical integration is attached.  I only feed in the first quarter of the table because I want only the integration from 0 to pi/2.  the integral must be 1, but the retourne.0159 VI.  I don't get that.  what Miss me?  Thank you in advance and have a nice day.  Lucas

DX for integration is pi/2/250.  You want to go from 0 to pi/2.  And each section of which is 1/250th of a sample.

This thread (pi/2) / 250 instead, the dT of waveform info and you will get 1.

Read the help for the function of numerical integration.  DT is the size of the interval.  No schedule as it is a form of wave.

    EDIT:

I see Darin already picked up on the problem while I was studying and typing.  As I said, read the detailed help about the function of integration.

Your interval is the synchronization of waveform dT who est.0001.  The size of the actual range that you want it to be is 1/250th of pi/2.

  • Mathematical integration issue

    Hi all

Here's a VI I'm working... it's a Powermeter instrument that measures power through photodiode sensors. The unit is used to measure the power to 1 wavelength. I did the VI for example a range of whole wavelengths, with some time and that integrate all the values of the measured power. This way I can include the component wavelengts visible in the final value of the power measured.

However, when measuring, after integration, I get different values depending on the stage of sampling. This may not be true, since I'm able to the same wavelength understood and changing step (measures for each 10 or 50 nanometers) should not affect the final result. I think the problem is in the method of integration. A person with knowledge of mathematical integration, or the integration of screws in the version complete LabVIEW? Can anyone suggest me perhaps another VI integration? Or maybe another method. I'll be very grateful!

    Best regards

    G.

The simplest method of numerical integration is the rectangle rule. The following figure should explain it.

In your case, 'h' is the stage of sampling (in nanometers), as well as the input dt.

If you have a point each 10 nm and f (x) = 2 constant function. The area of a rectangle is so 10 * 2 = 20. Your dt should also be 10. However, if you set the dt to 0.1, the formula calculates 0, 1 * 2 = 0, 2, which is a false result. To get the correct value, you would need to have a sample of each 0.1 nanometers, so on a 10 nm range the area would be 0, 1 * 2 * 100 = 20. Another way keep the sampling on 10 nm and by multiplying the value of f (x) of 10/0, 1 = 100, so that there is 0, 1 * 200 = 20.

If you are unsure, simply generate a const waveform and play with the settings. It is easy to determine the constant elementary functionst integral and on the other, such as the sine or cosine. If you manage to get the correct value on these features, you should be able to use the same settings on your signals custom, because she has the same stage of the sample.

    I hope it's clearer now

    Kind regards

  • Calculation of power using Rogowski coil

    Hello

I am trying to decide if I should build a VI or if SignalExpress is capable of calculating power based on my selection of transducer.

I'm trying to calculate the three-phase power of a system using a 2-wattmeter method. I have a NI cDAQ-9178, Rogowski and a winding module NI 9215.

Since the output of the Rogowski coil voltage is 90 degrees out of phase from the real wave, I can't simply multiply the voltage and current waveforms for the real power. I need to integrate the signal of the Rogowski coil and then multiplying two signals together.

Is there a SignalExpress option which allows me to integrate the signal or phase change the output voltage of Rogowski?

    Thank you.

    Hi Jcesar,

I think that the best way would be to incorporate them into LabVIEW, if you have this option, other wise, a way to do in SignalExpress could also be to add a step in LabVIEW on your SignalExpress project, here you can find a guide who has something similar with a numerical integration.

  • acceleration of bench of suspension travel active

my application is a project of active suspension, I need to measure acceleration and integration of two to get the position of an accelerometer sensor.

I found a lot of codes, it only works in simulation, but it does not work when I connect it on the acceleration sensor.

I know that I should remove a CC of the speed signal lag after the integration, but it is not clear how we do.

I know that there are many types of integration features in Labview. which of them I should use.

    My accelerometer is ADXL335

    http://www.analog.com/static/imported-files/data_sheets/ADXL335.PDF

Whenever you perform an integration, your result is an arbitrary constant added to what is essentially your starting value.  You have acceleration data.  If you integrate this, you get the speed, but you will need to add the initial speed to this to get the actual speeds.  When you integrate the second time, you get the positions, but you need to add the starting position for this to get real jobs.  So the constants you add will depend on your actual starting conditions (do not forget that the calculation was invented by Newton to describe physics ).

I usually use Simpon rule for numerical integration, but if you are sensitive to performance, you can use the digital trapezoid rule or rectangle integration.  Before you do anything, you should probably read on them.  The Wikipedia article gives a good overview, but the chapter 4 of the book online Numerical Recipes will give you a much better appreciation for the subject.  Most of these methods of integration is available natively in LabVIEW, so you don't have to write them yourself.

    Hi Yajai,

If you are looking for "Numerical Integration" or "Method of integration" in the Measurement Studio help (by clicking on start-> all programs-> National Instruments-> Measurement Studio-> Measurement Studio Documentation) you will find articles that go into the details of the syntax required for these functions as well as example for c# and VB.NET programs. I highly recommend to get into the practice of the use of this aid. Please report if you have problems with the examples.

    Dear ppl.

Need help to defame readings of voltage oscilloscope, torque, angular and contre-electromotrice of the attached circuit speed.

The engine is a hand-driller of 550 watts.

Mutual inductance A - F, the inertia of the shaft and friction are set by default and unknown.

The other settings show its real values.

Can I convert Nm rads x seconds and Volts volts directly?

    These logicals values or outrageous?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello danielsoy

The first thing you need to find is the relationship of voltage (or current) with a couple. He thinks that West is an education that relates to current and torque. Then, knowing the torque and inertia shatf you can give the angular aceleration of wheels. A numerical integration, you can calculate the angular velocity of the wheels. That s how you can address the problem. With an encoder, it would be much easier, because you can measure the angular position, speed and acceleration and with acceleration you can give the couple.

I hope that this information will help you.

You can drag and drop to any order in your albums.

  • HP preferred integration bug?

Integration attempt in trying to get the volume of a torus of revoling circle around the axis y.

Central circle of distance from the origin R and radius r using slices. Standard simple calc problem often given to students. Works well on HP50 and TI-89. Tried on first, last firmware using the template quite definite integral printing.

    Integrate r - r-R + r.

    Using equation 4 * pi * x * sqrt (r ^ 2-(x - R) ^ 2) dx

    You should get 2 * pi ^ 2 * r ^ 2 * R.

First lets you: "impossible to verify if the antiderivative gibberish characters (rA ^ 2 x 3A gibberish talor has singular points for final integration in [-r, r]).

    Thanks for coming back.

I just tested with several versions back, and each of them works fine. Make sure that R is not used (because it is an approximate numeric value).

    ∫ (4 * π * x * √ (R²-(x - R2) ²), x, R2 - r, R2 + r)-> 4 * π * r² * r2 * asin ((r/ABS (r)))

    assume(R2>0), assume(r>0)-> [r r2]

    ∫ (4 * π * x * √ (R²-(x - R2) ²), x, R2 - r, R2 + r)-> 2 * π2 * r² * r2

    I think the problem that I saw before was that I had swapped order of r2/r giving r - r2 and r2 + r instead. I think you've done the same too - take a look at your line of "4 * pi * x * sqrt (y ^ 2-(x - r) ^ 2), dx, r - y, r + y;   It works very well if you put r - y and y + r.

  • What is the precision used by DIAdem during the integration?

    Hello

I have been using DIAdem to perform digital integrations of force with respect to displacement and pressure with regard to travel (all acquired signals). These calculations are needed to determine the actuation and energy output associated with a hydraulic jack. The problem is that I am impossible numbers (work more than to work in). I was wondering if it can be caused by an accumulation of data errors, as most of the integration of the intervals are about 5,000 points. Can someone tell me how accurately tiara made digital integration? The online help does not. I guess it's all 64-bit double precision, in which case the rounding error is unlikely to be serious, but I'm running out of explanations.

    Any advice appreciated,

    PorridgeMan.

    Hi PorridgeMan,

All digital channel data values are imported into the tiara as slna (64 bits real) data portal, regardless of their original data types on the disk.  All routines analysis in tiara that create digital channels create SLNA, so all the digital channels in DIAdem are always slna and all numerical computations in DIAdem are always made with precision DBL.  It must be something else.  Would you care to send on your dataset and VBScript?

    Hello

    Here I have a probook 6560 b with a built-in numeric keypad.

The integrated numeric keypad works fine, but the keyboard is integrated digital keypad mode (number on the letter keys) and im not able the desable it. I tried the fn + num lock key and it doesn't work.

Reinstall the drivers doesn't fix it.

I don't have the problem when the probook is a docking station.

Anyone has an idea about this problem?

I was going to say faulty keyboard, but you say that this does not happen on the dock. It's weird.
Points to the software however, try completely uninstalling the shortcut keyboard HP software. See what happens when uninstalled, and then reinstall it (download a new copy).
Check in the bios, also could be difficult to say but to see if it does the same there. (A way to check could do to set the time that you can replace the numbers)

    Hi Sameer,

Is the relationship first: contact to cut the address as a 1:M the containment relationships and so shouldn't cut address belong directly to the world title? In this case I think that you must set it's OPAParent to Global.

  • Ore.Create () creates a numeric columns as binary_double instead of the number

When you create a table of a data.frame database using the function ore.create () R, the packaging of ore, all numeric columns in the database are stored as a double binary. Some algorithms, such as the importance of the attribute, do not work with this type of columns it is therefore necessary to convert these columns of type number. It is possible with the to_number() command and is not a problem when there are a small number of columns.  But what happens if there are 200 columns to convert?

Is it possible, from the beginning, when you create a data.frame database table to define the column as a number?

The function dbWriteTable in package ROracle contains an argument, ora.number, which can be used other BINARY_DOUBLE and NUMBER:

«NUMBER» values or specify 'FALSE' to create a table with

Values of 'BINARY_DOUBLE' Oracle. The default value is 'TRUE '.

Specify "FALSE" if one or more of the values of digital data is
