NumericEdit beeps when you press on enter

When using a numberic edition and typing a number followed by "enter" the sound card will beep.  Is there a way to prevent this problem?

Hi UmmGooD,

When you configure a button I agree to the form, the key enter will be provided by the form to bring up the button event handler to accept it. The NumericEdit value is not updated and therefore the AfterChangeValue is not triggered. But the change of focus from the NumericEdit after changing the value should raise the AfterChangeValue event.

Another way to remove the beep without the above is by creating an event handler for the KeyPress on the NumericEdit and by setting the value of Handled of KeyPressEventArgs true by pressing "Enter".

Private Sub NumericEdit1_KeyPress (ByVal sender As Object, KeyPressEventArgs e)

{
Form has no AcceptButton - prevents default beep on hit enter
If (e.KeyChar is 13)
{
e.Handled = true;
}
}

    Hello

    How to pass selected contains a string indicator combo box when you press the enter keyboard key?

    Right now I use a button to send the command selected in the combox to string indicator.

    The photos shows a combo box with the button that I use to send to the indicator as example.

    After the user selects the text to pass, "send the cmd" button must be pressed to pass the string.

    I need to pass the selected string when the user press enter on the keyboard rather than press the button 'send cmd '.

    Hello

    You can use a structure of the event to capture keystrokes and filter, transmit only the drop-down list box "value of the indicator of channel when you press the return or enter key."

    Let me know it the joint allows an example (in LV 8.6).

  • Go to the new line when you press shift + enter in the text box

    Hi, I would like to know how to go on a new line in a text box when you press a combination of keys SHIFT + ENTER. (Pressing himself enter causes the text to be erased and expelled for an ObservableList). Here is what I tried:
     text.setOnKeyReleased(new EventHandler<KeyEvent>() {
            final KeyCombination comb1 = new KeyCodeCombination(KeyCode.ENTER, KeyCombination.SHIFT_DOWN);
            final KeyCombination comb2 = new KeyCodeCombination(KeyCode.ENTER);

             public void handle(KeyEvent t) {
                    if (comb2.match(t) && !comb1.match(t)) {
                            obs.addAll(text.getText());
                            text.clear();
            }
        }
    });
    I'm not aware of any explicit function which allows the accent circumflex positions itself a new line.

    Hello. Please, try the following:

           final TextArea ta = new TextArea();
           ta.addEventFilter(KeyEvent.KEY_PRESSED, new EventHandler() {

                public void handle(KeyEvent event) {
                    if (event.isShiftDown() & (event.getCode() == KeyCode.ENTER)) {

                            ta.setText(ta.getText() + "\n");
                            ta.end();

                        }
                    else event.consume();

  • HP g7-1320dx - on the numeric keypad does not work and the Num Lock will beep when you press

    Today, I noticed that my keypad does not work. The keys / *-+ and 'Enter' works, but the actual number will not.

    When I press NUM LOCK, it only beeps and turns the light active or not. And the keys / *-+ and 'Enter' won't work, any more than the actual digital keys.

    The regular keyboard numbers and keys all work, it is a simple matter of numeric keypad.

    Any ideas?

    So I thought that my own problem.

    Hello

    Yes, if you want to do something only if the Enter key is pressed, you must implement an IEventHandler and check the virtual keys kReturnKey and kEnterKey.

  • My left shift key beeps twice when you press on--NOT STICKY KEYS

    My left shift key does not work. The law works fine. When you press it, it sounds twice. Has Ive restore my computer to an earlier point and that did not fix the problem, any more than to disable and turn off StickyKeys. The key itself is sensitive, it leads me to believe that it cannot be the entire keyboard. Any ideas would be useful.

    BTW, I am running Windows 7 on a laptop Asus U43F

    1. See manual ASUS [service] to see if there is any special significance to it. http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/p/post.htm I thought, but it seems not applicable since it is not starting, it is when running.
    2. check the sticky keys for accessibility-related technologies starting with F1 for help. There are a number of them. start going through one by one to see if something is on. You may have accidentally market something (there are combinations of keys that do this). Control Panel, display small icons, accessibility.
    3. buy a $5 or $22 USB keyboard. IBM makes a mechanical keyboard nice $79, classic, I believe to be a joy to type on (they make them for IBM). http://www.pckeyboard.com/page/category/UKBD
    4. Plug it in
    5. Try the left SHIFT key
    6. If she still double beeps {is your installation of windows or something in the laptop, not your keyboard. you can try reinstalling windows using a repair, which is less expensive, you need to reinstall your programs and drivers, but you keep your data. you can keep this configuration, my mother a.} otherwise, {hardware of the laptop may be in need of repair could cost between $200 (replace keyboard)-800 $ (motherboard).}

    There are more expensive mechanical keyboards, but they are for games.

  • Cursor move to the field next when you press enter/return

    Is there a way to make the curson go to the next field when you click Enter / return as it does when you press the tab key? Currently he entered just the info in the current field and does not advance to the next field with I button back.

    You can with JavaScript, but you have to use in the event of strike or Format a field, which is (normally) not available for all types of fields (checkboxes, for example). For text fields, you can use the following in the Format event JavaScript code:

    Fragment of script format for the text field

    If (event.commitKey = 2) {}

    getField("Text2").setFocus ();

    }

    Replace "Text2" with the name of the field you want to access the next.

    The problem with this approach is the Format or the key event isn't available for the fields for which you have selected one of the pre-defined formats types (for example, number). There are ways to work around this limitation, if necessary, but things get a little complicated.

  • Turn off the text field (always submits page when you press enter)

    I have an area which allows you to enter search criteria. There are two fields and a button. The 1st field is a selection list that gives a list of columns in a database that can be searched on. The 2nd field is where the user enters the value to search for. The user can submit the search in 2 ways. They can press the button or press return when the cursor is in the 2nd item that is a text field (always submits page when you press enter). The results are then displayed in a region of report below.

    The problem I have, is that if the request is for > 10 seconds and the user gets impatient and hits the Enter key or the button search again the query is returned for a second time (or third or fourth according to the impatience of the user) causing the claim on the basis of data with a negative impact on the performance of the system.

    I know how to handle the search key. On a click event on I turn off the button so that the user cannot click on it again and resubmit the request.

    My question is - how can I turn off "always provides a page when you press enter" text item when the user presses enter? I tried an onclick event, but disabled the front element I could type in anything. Onblur event does not seem to do anything.

    Any ideas would be very appreciated.

    Hello

    First of all, one thing to try: attributes of the Page, there is a section for the presentation in double - try setting this option on no.

    Otherwise, using the text field type, adds the following to the INPUT tag:

    onkeypress="return submitEnter(this,event)"

    which means, you can call your own function of javascript on the onkeypress event, the final line would be call submitEnter(). But you can set the value of a hidden page element:

    function doEnter(t, e)
    {
     if ($x('P1_SEARCH_RUNNING').value == 0)
     {
      $x('P1_SEARCH_RUNNING').value = 1;
      return submitEnter(t, e);
     }
     else
     {
      return false;
     }
    }

    Then, after changing your element to an element of normal text on the attributes of HTML form elements, add in:

    onkeypress="return doEnter(this,event)"

  • Text field (always submits page when you press enter)

    Hello

    I have two elements (username and password) and two buttons (Submit & cancel) when the user enters the correct DB table entry values and strike button SUBMIT with the < /b > < b > mouse it is able to go to the next internal page does not, up to here everything works absolutely perfect.

    But now, instead of clicking the button "SUBMIT" with the mouse, I want the user to use the functionality of the ENTER key on the keyboard and so I apply the two elements (username and password) as < b > text field (always submits page when you press enter) < /b > and < b > password (submits when you press enter) < /b > respectively.

    Also created a conditional branch and an unconditional branch (with the highest sequence number) by the research of the below thread: -.

    Re: Text field Element submits page when you press ENTER

    but still did not find any success, when I run the page with the correct details in the elements and press button nothing works the same page returns back to me with these two elements as empty?

    any help?

    thxs

    Kind regards
    Kumar

    Hello

    OK - two things...

    First of all, your branch to page 9 was conditional on the SUBMIT button

    Second, you had the condition that "request = Expression 1" where it should be "EXISTS.."

    I removed the button state and changed the condition type. Try it now

    Hello

    Thanks for joining us on the Microsoft Community.

    According to the description of the problem you are facing problems with reinstalling Windows XP Professional, and you are to be invited to insert the Service Pack 1 drive to complete the installation.

    To help you to propose measures to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:

    1. did you uninstall Windows XP Service Pack 1 prior to reinstalling Windows XP?

    2. what was the installed Service Pack earlier?

    You may need to uninstall Windows XP Service Pack 1 first and then perform the reinstallation of Windows XP and to check if the installation goes smoothly.

    Please see the following articles for more information about uninstalling Windows XP Service Pack 1:

  • Rejecting the keyboard after that you press the Enter key

    I have a search box and under certain conditions I am able to set the different KeyboardType.

    When you press 'Enter' key, I am able to capture data from text box

    private void HandleSearch(evt:KeyboardEvent):void {}

    If (evt.keyCode == Keyboard.ENTER) {}

    trace ("this is a search =" + searchBox.text);

    }

    }

    Now how can I reject/hide the key board?

    I saw the following code

    See the keyboard QNX

    private function showKeyboard (): void {}

    IMFConnection.imfConnection.showInput ();

    }

    Hide the keyboard QNX

    private function hideKeyboard (): void {}

    IMFConnection.imfConnection.hideInput ();

    }

    but I'm not sure this is the right approach? Please let me know if anyone has any input in this regard. Thank you very much

    The approach with IMFConnection is undocumented, subject to changes and certainly not recommended for real code, yet.

    Support is just to stage.focus null value.
