nVidia - Graphics Update of the adapter do not install

10/18/12, I received an automatic update of Windows of my nVidia drivers.  Apparently, they could not install and brought me to restore my system to an earlier version.  I went on the nVidia website and tried to manually update the graphics drivers.  They failed there as well.  Anyone else having this problem?

Same thing happened to me and the installation failed, but I managed to correctly install the driver from the nVidia site. The version of windows tried to install was the version that supports windows 8. I think I know not if I am running windows 8 so why is-install microsoft without my permisison drivers? This should be an optional update. The only suggestion I can think of to help would be to try your site of GPU manufacturers for the latest version of the supported driver. They usually have links. Good luck!

Sometimes, some devices in Device Manager are hidden by corrupt or missing drivers.

Follow the steps below to view devices hidden in the device manager and troubleshoot accordingly.

    1. Press the Windows key + X
    2. Select prompt (Admin)
    3. Type set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices = 1 and press enter
    4. Type Start DEVMGMT. SMC and press ENTER.
    5. Once in Device Manager hit the view menu and select Show hidden devices.

From there, remove every instance of the Nvidia card you see as well as each unknown device. Quit Device Manager and reinstall the latest you can find for your graphics card drivers.

After installing the drivers, reboot and see if you get different results.

    Thank you

    Hi Lydia,.

There are three services that are important to check, download and install the updates. These services are Background Intelligent of cryptographic services service and the Windows update Service. These should be in the started state and currently running on the computer so that the computer connects to Windows Update Server, check the update that corresponds to the computer, and then download them accordingly.

Follow the steps in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2730071 and make sure that these services are started on the computer. If they are, then if he please stop and then restart the services. Restart the computer once that change in services.

    Hello

Were there any changes made on the computer before the show?

Perform the following methods and check:

    Method 1:

I suggest you to check if you are able to access Windows Update service and ensure that the following services are started. If it is not started, follow these steps:

    a. click Start, type services.msc and press enter.
    b. search Windows Update.
    c. right-click on the service and select Properties.
    d. in type of startup, select enable.
    e. click Start under the Service status.
    f. click OK.
    g. Repeat steps c to f for the following services:

    Background Intelligent Transfer Service
    Cryptographic services

If the steps do not help to solve the problem, you can go ahead with the methods mentioned below and check.

    Method 2:

How to reset the Windows Update components?
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

    Method 3:

Your anti-virus software is in conflict with Windows updates. You can test this by temporarily disabling your antivirus:

    Disable the antivirus software
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
