NX7009 - Checkpoint FW layer 2 and layer 3 topology?

We have two pairs of NX7009 and a pair of Checkpoint 12600. Pair of control point will be active/passive mode.

A pair of NX7009 will be connected to the pair of Checkpoint in trunk of layer 2. The other pair of NX7009 is connected to the same pair of Checkpoint but like layer 3 connection.

In each pair of NX7009, a NX7009 have a connection at a checkpoint, and the 2nd NX7009 have a connection to the other checkpoint. For circuits of layer 2 between NX7009 and Checkpoint, we should put the two ports (one on each NX7009) NX7009 in VPC? I don't know if it will work since Checkpoint only knows about the current connection in active/passive mode.

For Layer 3 connection between the control point and to the pair of NX-7009, what is the best practice by doing this? I know that it's not recommended to NX7009 VPC port-channel layer 3.

Thanks for any suggestions

    Hello

I export a topology of an environment to use in another - I am using the file-> export-> topology option, and then copy the folder on the server that hosts the installed environment.

    Hey Gee,

It could be a problem of repository ID, make sure that your 2 repositories environments work and master unique ID (for example 0 and 1 for Dev and 100 and 101 in QA). This could cause this problem.
Also, make sure that you have CONN_xxx.xml files in your topology export files as these files contains the information of dataserver.

  • Removing unused columns - pre and post checks

    Friends...

    DB: 11.2.0.3

    OS: Linux

I have a few quick questions in relation to removing unused columns which I intend to do on the production database (5 tables 20 GB each)

The columns are already defined as unused tables, but I'm trying to get a backup plan for this tables if something goes wrong, while editing the table.

Could some experts share their experience with me?

    1. What backup plan, I can have 5 tables to retrieve them in case something goes wrong?

(I thought about import export, but I think import will fail if I try to import after that "alter table drop unused column" did not order)

Also some tables have 500 lines and taking the export compliance will be problematic.

    2. any request to know in advance which package could be invalid after the fall of the column?

    3. statistical does is invalid?

(According to my knowledge, I think that it won't affect his stats and also tested this and stale_stats column was not after a column.)

    4. do I need to scan the table or rebuild indexes to ensure that this drop column does not affect the performance of the application?

    5. any other minor/major that keep them in check after a fall unused column?

    Thank you

    Mike

@rp0428... I understand your doubts and yes it's true, there were 5 tables of 20 GB each and additionally 5 tables, there are a few smaller tables I thought won't create a problem. For large tables, I did used control point.

As always, I have tested plan in dev environment with the same size/data lines but a unused fall was quick and no problem with cancellations is why during production, it took me surprise.

    I had cancellation of 32 GB, so obviously, I was confident of small tables)<5 gb)="" should="" definitely="" fit="" in="" 32gb="" (but="" it="" wasn't="" the="">

OK - but we can only go through the information you post and you don't post anything of this.

If you had my question would be why you do not use "checkpoint" when you tested and why you didn't used it for this 5 GB table in production that generated 100 GB of REMAKING?

My next question would be: what PROBLEM have you tried to solve by dropping the unused columns? Your application was working fine so why was the decision taken?

And the reason for this question is that ANY significant changes to a table (standard partitions, add virtual columns, split partition, etc.) is ONLY suitable for technical purposes.

There are almost always other changes that could / should be made and it is usually beneficial to make all these changes as a whole. Common examples include 1) get rid of the old data (dilation), 2) addition of such constraints as NOT NULL, 3) a table partitioning, 4) adding new columns - perhaps with NOT NULL value and/or default values constraints.

Since 'other' someof these changes can be problematic if done online, it is generally advised to do a thorough analysis to make sure that you have identified ALL the changes you want, you can then do all at once. Often the best solution is to re-create the table and data using the DEC.

    1. a normal 'drop unused' rewrites all the blocks. It's not moving lines to other blocks - it essentially tightens just online content in order to remove all the content of the unused column.

    2. a normal 'drop unused', even if you use control points, leaving the "unusable" table until the WHOLE picture was treated. This means you NEED to perform the operation before normal re-use of this table, you can resume

    3. a normal life 'unused drop' will NOT free space which can be used by other objects - the same lines occupy the same blocks - the lines are just "small". Therefore, there is NO space to release.

Creating a table (e.g. DEC) you can use a bulk loading and parallel operations and move lines of new blocks. It can also if take care of these 'other' I mentioned with little or no extra charge of the changes.

  • stream capture required checkpoint YVERT do not go forward

    Oracle DB version: 10.2.0.5

Configure the replication of unidirectional flow of a schema. The stream runs fine and the start SCN and required checkpoint YVERT were moving forward. I put in retention of capture to 3 days. But, the required checkpoint SCN, start YVERT and fist of SNA does not last four days progress. The flow of capture and apply works perfectly and she asked all of the latest recordings.

But, if the flow is given for all cases, capture can get the old archivelogs since the required checkpoint SCN does not advance. What is a possible reason for him and how to solve? Could someone explain please?

Leave it alone and wait. Every 6 hours (last time I tested), you'll see alert "first SNA has changed."

  • Problem with VPN compatibility between 2811 and 2911

    Hello

I would ask anyone had problems with the implementation of a VPN tunnel between 2811 and 2911?

The IPSec VPN is established, but for some reason, I cannot ping the side LAN across LAN to the other end of the VPN router?

All experience would be highly appreciated

    Thank you

IPSec VPN can be smoothly between routers cisco (and not nesesserely cisco) set up, so there should be no problem in your case.

If you say that this tunnel is established successfully, then the problem most likely related to routing problems between sites or incorrect configured crypto-acl. Check if the hosts located on both sites have correct routing information on how to get to subnets on the other site.

Make more accurate assumptions, it would be helpful that you provide config on both sites and describe your topology.

Can someone tell me if Im asking a large part of the PSD?  When I extrude forms in PSD thay still have a surface jagged and wavy, even after making?

    Well thanks for your Suggestions.

    Screen shot 2012-05-30 at 3.38.33 PM.png

    Hi Steve and Noel,.

When Ps generates meshes through extrusion is needs a path closed. So if you have a pixel selection, this is the conversion that the selection of a traced work, (using the tolerance to create a work path) and then generate polygons. If you want better control the amount of points and therefore the topology of face of extrusion and the sweetness, you really want to work with path data prior to extrusion to better predict the results explicitly.

The tolerance of work path also explains why you get multiple lines with a higher resolution document. The work path gets more points with a larger number of image pixel but the same tolerance value.

In the case of single cylinder that you have a shape of ellipse constrainted (not a selection rectangle) tool layer should give you 4 points on the path and a smooth extrusion resulting.

For forms that are more complex (say text based extrusions), image resolution (and font size) will come also into play. The resolution of these as polygons more get generated fewer result faceting on the edge of the 3D profile form.

Resolution of image for 3D layers is generally good about 1-2 K @ 72 dpi (assuming a fairly capable GPU, 1 GB VRAM). More than a few factors come into play, such as the size of the texture map, the document, the processor cores and RAM available bit depth.

I'll see if I can post a few images that show the differences concerning the surface of extrusion with selection vs. shape layer sources.

    Kind regards

  • Referring to one SDO_TOPO several topologies

Can I list several topologies for a single item SDO_TOPO? For example, do my edges of reference of element SDO_TOPO in the STREETS and the topology of RIVERS?

Which brings one point better, if I want to create a topology defined by several distinct types of edges and how is the best way? That is I want to define a topology element which has edges defined by political boundaries, streets and rivers. I should merge all the edges in a large layer of topology or should I create my function to have several story elements?

    Mark,
In Oracle Spatial, you can't have an element of sdo_topo, referring to several topologies.

We recommend that you create a topology for all types of features (like rivers, streets, etc.) and
create functions to sdo_topo_geometry to identify the specificities of the topology.

  • How to change the Port pool

If we want to change the port pool after cloning of layers of DB and Apps, what is the best way to do... A single method, I know, i.e run the preclone on the target system and run config clone again once on the same target on both system layer of database and Application layer and change the pool of port...

    is there another method?

How to change the host name of a component of Applications using AutoConfig Doc ID: 341322.1

    (a) to register the application of topology of net service model node
    (b) updated the context file Autoconfig
    (c) shutdown apps services
    (d) to run the automatic configuration service
    (e) change the name of the host at the OS level
    (f) restart the machine.
    (g) to start the application sercies

In step 2, the context of the updated file, we will create the new context with the new hostname file... Here I have doubt, how come new context file will be created with the new host name, since it has not changed hostname at the level of the bone at this stage or before this step? AutoConfig will be CNET, because the Hostname of the Machine is different, because we change the hostname in the last step before

Please clarify my doubt, if my understanding is wrong?

In step 2, you run "perl adclonectx.pl" command. This script is used to clone your context file (i.e. generate a new), and it will ask you to enter the new host name. Once completed, you will have two files of context in the directory $APPL_TOP/admin:

    (1) _ .xml
    (2) _ .xml

When you run the AutoConfig (step 4), you must provide the context new file generated (i.e. _.xml), and the model topology net services (which is clean, because we have already served there) will be filled with the new host name.

why we cannot do the procedure below...

    (a) to enter the net service topology model applications pane
    (b) change the hostname at the os level
    (c) restart the machine.
    (d) update the context file with the new host name or create the new context file
    e run the automatic configuration
    (f) to start the services

Please correct me if I'm wrong...

I have not tried your procedure before, but I think it would work also.

I hope it is clear now.

and waste your time as m and d, try to find solutions and work around the problems most ridiculous & pointless.

Virtual PC XP Vista initially seemed to solve a lot of problems, but after a few days, unfortunately, the performance of the virtual machine has deteriorated seriously, I don't know why.

OK - still happy if someone here can answer the original questions?

Of course, you can install WXP on U300 and you can do this by using the facilities of Microsoft CD. Is very important to have the Storage Manager. This utility is needed to proceedings WXP facilities for the recognition of the HARD drive. You can save it on the floppy drive and import it using the F6 key at startup of installations of Windows XP Home edition.

Visit the Toshiba support under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com page > support & downloads. There you can find all the drivers of Windows XP Home for U300. at the first checkpoint Installations Instructions document and use this list for installing drivers, tools and utilities. Follow the exact order of installations.

  • When I double-click a folder or a drive, I get a "this file has no program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options panel' message.

I studied a lot of information to solve this problem, but whenever I click on my drives in my computer or folder, it comes up with this error message. No matter what I do, the error remains. The strange thing is,I can click right and always open folders normally with the "Open" option, it's just that Ican't double-click on a folder and access it using Windows Explorer. I think it might be a virus or something, but I'm not a computer expert. Anyone know how I can fix without wiping my computer?

    I tried the things:

    (1) I have SystemSuite Pro 10 (2009), so I used that to try to scan deep and does all the options I could. I found 4 Trojan files in my files of java for a reason, but I deleted them.

    (2) some sites suggest a problem with the registry, so I tried the fixes for those who did not.

    (3) I had a system checkpoint to restore old and just tried to restore my computer to that, but the problem persisted.

    (4) I used guest trying to access Windows Explorer and some of my other files, but the error message comes up again. It seems impossible to access Windows Explorer.

Please help me. Although it is a small problem, I really like my new computer to stay in the best shape possible and not have to do a right-click on each folder just to open it.

We can look at the network and sharing Center and see the network come and go from this computer.

In addition, we tried to update the driver (he says he has the most recent version) and have resorted to here for assistance.

We've been on Windows 7 all the time, and he claims that it has not installed any new application (the download and installation of privileges are limited), so I don't think that it is the source of the problem.

When DBWn written stamps Sales, it advances the position of the control point, causing CKPT write the position of the control point to the file control, but not for data file headers.

There are many types of control points. One that will be updated on the headers of data files would be a complete control and would be applicable to the entire base. The additional control point is induced to keep on enhanching a counter that would ensure that only certain limited stamp Sales would be recovering. That's why a moment of the additional control point, data file headers are not being updated. Control file is probably updated with a "pointer to disk" which mentions the point up to which the dirty buffers are written in files (from the buffer cache) data and where to start the recovery, if necessary. Log file switch will cause a thread control point which, for one instance, would be considered a Global checkpoint only. The additional control point would be for various other reasons such as setting a value for the parameter Fast_Start_Mttr_Target etc.

    Hi Srini,

The problem is resolved. Thanks for your reply.

The question is, is Windows server 2003 32-bit, and I try to install database 11g 64 bit. I tried to install database 11g 32-bit. Before that, I erased the traces of the virtual machine in my host system and reinstalled and tried. It worked.

    Thank you

    Sunil
