  I couldn't find ODI 11.1.1.7 on OTN installation files. There is only the ODI 12.1.3.0 and 11.1.1.9.

  How can I get 11.1.1.7 to install files and RCU?

  Is there a particular reason that you are looking for 11.1.1.7?  I think that 11.1.1.9 is the last.

  Having said that you can trigger an SR and the demand for the 11.1.1.7, oracle support could provide you.

• Captivate 7 for Mac patch installation problems

  Was having a few problems getting 7 Captivate to recognize Microsoft PowerPoint and Word. Taking the advice I saw in another Adobe forum question and re-installed 7 Captivate. Of course 7 Captivate does not work on my Mac without 7-0-1 patch, but when I try to install the patch I get a pop-up message indicating that the administrator has removed the updates to my computer. Since I am the administrator and I didn't delete something, I think that this problem is due to my recent installation/upgrading to creative cloud for all my other Adobe applications.

  Anyone got any workaround for this?

  Please go to Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat

  Then copy and paste AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat to your desktop.

  Open AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat and change the value under the tag removed to "0".

  1

  Now save the file and replace it with the file existing in Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0.

  Now, rerun the update patch and see if it solves your problem or not.

  I installed the vision of Oracle 11i (11.5.10.2) applications on my Windows XP SP2 system and below are the directory structure after installation.
  (1) D:\orclapps\orclappsappl
  (2) D:\orclapps\orclappscomn
  (3) D:\orclapps\orclappsdata
  (4) D:\orclapps\orclappsdb\9.2.0
  (5.1) D:\orclapps\orclappsora\8.0.6
  (5.2) D:\orclapps\orclappsora\iAS
  
  As part of note id = 167000.1, I applied the Patch to splice of IZU (Patch 3636980). His mentined in step 2 that below a patch must be applied.
  
  Patch (i):
  Customers who have installed E-Business Suite 11.5.9 or patched with ATG_PF and above. H 4 ORS or above should download and apply Patch 7530017 (11i Nov 2008).
  
  Patch (II):
  Customers who have installed the E-Business Suite 11.5.4 with FND. D and AD. G or higher but haven't ATG_PF. : ORS 4 or higher installed should download and apply Patch 6989371 (pre - ATG.RUP.4 11i).
  
  
  I think since I installed 11.5.10.2, I shouldn't go for patch (ii).
  When it comes to Patch (i), I have here are doubts:
  
  (1) how do I know if my installation is patched up with 'ATG_PF '. : ORS 4 or higher '?
  (2) if my installation is not applied with this patch, or above, then I apply it and go further?

  I am trying to run the CPU (10.2.0.4.0 Patch No. 6810189) pending database 10.2.0.1.0.
  
  I use 10 gr 2 on RHEL5 on vmware. All patches were conducted successfully on 10.2.0.1.0 primary earlier the basis and the database updated to 10.2.0.4.1 after the power supply.
  
  But when I try to run the hotfix installer it says;

  Its a testing environment. But in production environment it might be a issue.I think its may be due to some missing patches.Can you please highlight on this issue?

  This post was question on RHEL 5 when you installed versions (i.e.: 10.2.0.1) published earlier than RHEL 5.
  Help - IgnoreSysPreReqs will work around this message but as a consequence he ignores other controls (like the validation of the parameters of the core OS, OS limits settings and presence of required packages). If you are sure that everything is as it should be then it would not be a problem but it's certainly better to investigate or open a SR Oracle Support session, why this message.

• KB2286198 patch installation damaged desktop shortcut icons.

  Once installed manually fix KB2286198 (from MS FixIt) and that Windows did an automatic update, the next day, all the shortcut icons Office programs are white outside. Except for the workstation, MyNetwork, Internet Explorer and Recycle Bin, all the tous les autres other program icons are blank as much and any effort to restore their a fail. Based on the article Comoputerworld patch (02/08/2010) the manual should be reversed before asking the window update, which I did not. I was not aware of the issue.

  Recreating IconCache.db, suggested by some people does not work either.

  Anyone against the SP can help?

  Just to add to what Werner stressed, it did not work for me once someone had played with the rights to the folder. So I had to rename the DLL manually (I couldn't move and cut-paste that file to the other place because of rights), then copied the patch file oci.dll. It worked.

• Each installation of the PATCH fails after installing Windows updates

  I would like to report a problem, I think it's a bug of Windows introduced by one of the Windows updates (unfortunately I could not know who of them).

  Here's the test scenario:
  1. install a fresh copy of Windows on a test computer
  2. install all the Windows updates available (so the system is up-to-date)
  3. create a sample MSI installer that installs only some dummy files (let's say Product Version 1.0.0) and host on a web server

  4. install the MSI from the online location using a command line like this:

  msiexec /i http://server/share/package.msi

  5. create a. Patch MSP (e.g. v1.0.1) which only adds a new file to v1.0.0
  6 install the patch v1.0.1

  RESULT: the installation of the patch fails with the following error message: "the file name, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect."

  NOTES:
  1. the question has replicated to Windows 7 and 8 machines updated
  2. the question is not replicated on a new install of Windows without updates applied

  Is anyone aware of what may cause this error? Once again the patch installation fails only on Windows computers with the latest updates installed.

  I ran all the patches when I updated for Developer Suite 2010 but have no idea where he put them. And they are not in C:\Documents and Settings\jvh01\Local Settings\Temp\install\

  The installers have been downloaded from our Web site, so it's possible you went down in a temporary folder in this case, it is likely that they are deleted.  You should be able to download the installer again and point your deployment that their.

  For your queries for replication ACS should be the same version, only then you can replicate between the ACS patner, if you have the same version, so your first and third query got the answer.

  For your fourth query, you can use the DNS server to host your web servers as when the user access the traffic of your web site will land in your DNS server where it will redirect to the origin server so that the DNS server should be authority server for your Web site.

• OM_5.4.0_Man_Node_A01.msp installation fails (Windows Server 2008 x 64)

  I can't get it to load the patch installer. Of course, life would be easier if Dell has released a proper version of OpenManage (with support for Windows Server 2008 x 64).

  Here are the instructions...

  Application of the Service Pack
  1 double-click the MSP file or enter the following in a command prompt window:
  MsiExec.exe /p OM_5.4.0_Man_Node_A01.msp

  And the error message...

  Windows install

  The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer because the program to be upgraded is may be missing, or the upgrade patch may be a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.
