  Last week, I suddenly have a file corruption problem that's what I'm trying to destroy. He showed all first to the top when I converted a 16-bit file to 8-bit, but it's now the case if I add a layer and apply the high pass filter or add some details of shadow & Highlight, then the layers started almost "dissolve" and become more transparent... or they take on transparency of block type.   Shortly after taking these screenshots, the rest of the layers that everything has been corrupted and all layer mask icons were checkered with rasterized transparency. Remove the affected layers and adding them back in did not help... they would just get corrupted again. Remove the damaged layers, saving the rest of file and quit smoking did not help... to open the file again and trying to add layers back would result in still more corruption. I found some success from scratch, do one or two things, save, and then quit Photoshop. Then I would duplicate the file, reopen Photoshop and do one or two things, save again, and then quit Photoshop again... repeat 100 times! Not exactly a workflow, I can live with...

  And the really messed thing, is that this is happening with CS6 and the CC version. I'm working on a MacPro 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 24 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC, card ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 on OS X 10.8.5 MB

  We'll see if it's a problem of preferences. It is very common, yet easy to fix. Use you especially when Photoshop is upward and you know that you do not alter your installation or settings.

  Hold cmd-opt-shift and run Photoshop. You will see a dialog box 'delete settings '. Answer 'Yes' and allow Photoshop to continue loading.

  Let's see if that fix it.

  New Mac Pro cylinder, Yosemite. When I open edit text and start typing, very often what I get on screen is a string of dollar signs.   I think this is a related issue of Windows, because it is the Manager to save the windows file that we are talking about here (right?). You should contact Microsoft for help with this one, I think. You expect to be able to delete entries simply by touching delete on your keyboard when they are concentrated (that is how it goes for the removal of the form entries specific autocomplete in Firefox), but I have not tried.

  Experienced same problem with Amazon MP3 downloads.  Could not bring to import into Movie Maker.  Read somewhere to convert WMA of the song, but couldn't find out how to do this.  I wanted to download 3rd party software.  Had already created the CD with the songs that I wanted to use mm.   Ripped from this CD for PC with Windows Media Player, which gives you option to change the format.  Changed the format to WMA format and then imported into Movie Maker.  After all, hope this time it helps you, too.

  Click Start-> run, type &-> chkdsk c: / f-> ok. You will be asked to schedule the scan of the disc, restart your pc.

  If above used to work, start your pc in safe mode and try.
