Office 2007 are updates consistently fail

I've got Office Enterprise 2007 (consumption program) installed on a HP with Vista SP1 computer. All MS Office updates fail with 8007006E error. Other updates work - but all Office updates fail repeatedly (per month).

This version has not been installed on the computer when I got it, so I don't think that I should go to HP for help.

In particular, Word - says about I (12.0.6016.5000) MSO (12.0.6213.1000)
What I've tried so far:
Unistalling, re - install Office using the CD. This has been at least twice.
Download and apply the Office updates separately, in various orders
CD repair office
Diagnose from Word, Excel

    Hi LawrenceHoetzlein,

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable the antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network at the time the anti-virus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: Put the computer in a clean boot state to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state of the link to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start, run.

    (b) type msconfigand click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    (e) when you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

Method 3: You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.

PLEASE GIVE ME AN ANSWER!

    Hi Mihai,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

As you use the trial version of Windows 7 this could still be a problem, you can perform the below given steps and see if it helps.

    Step 1:

You can run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool

Download and run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool. After downloading this tool, it runs an ad hoc analysis of inconsistencies that might prevent future maintenance operations.

For more information about how to download and run the system update readiness tool, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 947821 Description of the system update tool for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821

In article 947821, scroll down to the "Microsoft Download Center" section, and then click the link to download the update for your operating system preparation tool.

    Step 2:

You will need to maybe reset the Windows Update components, download the Microsoft fix - it from the link and run the wizard that automatically resets the windows update components, if it does not, I recommend that reset you manually update windows components from the link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

These steps should solve the problem, give it a try and check if you are able to perform windows updates.

You can also try to download updates manually and install one by one.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Error 646 on Office 2007 security updates. Updates automatic is running, downloads, but usually install.__Could it have something to do with being not found license agreements?

I experienced this once already in October 09. The solution I used was to manually install each update via microsoft updates web site. Then I noticed that there was a "I agree" to check. No such "I agree" can be found with my automatic updates. They are already downloaded on my computer and I like that I have to install
These updates. When I run install they fail error 646.

    I would appreciate a solution,

  • Office 2007 SP2 update tries to install repeatedly, even if Office is not installed

    Hello

I have a PC running Windows XP Professional, connected to a corporate network.  In the past, Office 97 was installed, but it has since been uninstalled. Any Office program is now reported by Add/Remove programs.  Other computers on the network have Office 97 installed.

On this particular PC "Automatic Updates" reported that "the 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2 (SP2)" must be installed. I let settle and the notification disappears until the next time I restart the PC, after which he reappears. This happens repeatedly.

How can I stop this behavior, please?

    Best regards

    Hello Mrbill66,

Thank you for using Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

Update installation failure can lead to many problems. Frequently, the computer is not in a State that the update would expect to find in. This occurs when the installation is corrupted or the files are accidentally deleted. Any other failure could result from the loss of Internet connectivity when you try to install an update from the Internet. Some failures can cause do not have enough disk space to successfully install the update, or on the occasion of a problem with the update itself.

All you case maybe, here a link to an article that could help solve this problem.
