• Office 365 for Mac, compared to Office for Mac 2016

  Thank you in advance.  Background: on my MBP 2014, I installed initially Office 2011 and well just a bit awkward it was great.  About a month ago, with the release, I'm subscribed to Office 365 personal (including Outlook) for Mac (~$70/yr).  Functions are acceptable for good, really no complaints.  I'm a professor and psychologist and count on my desk intensively. So, a more personal and technical question:

  (1) what are the essential differences in the professional features 365 vs 2016 products (Office in the box)?

  (2) I recently discovered that I have access to Office for Mac 2016 family and professional that I can get through a MS discount at $9.99 per year.  This is a "local installation" and includes the Office suite basic as above.  I'm a fool to pay $70 to 365 when I can get _presumptively_ the equivalent of Office for Mac 2016 for $10?

  I can't speak for Mac versions, but I'm familiar with versions of Windows. Subscription Office 365 service is an annual payment, but as long as you're subscribed, the software will continue to be updated behind the scenes. I am as well, Professor in business technology, and we have students here at the College use Office 365. They get the version of the University, which is the same as Office Professional, and they can get a subscription to 4 years for a reduced price. That started with the Windows version of office 2013, and now they get the upgrade to Office 2016. Have you checked with your TI University Department to see if you have access to the software through the University and Microsoft volume licensing? Who can usually net you have the full professional version for little or no cost.

  DOE this office for Mac 2016 Home and Business provide you with all the software you need? Many lesser versions contain no Outlook or Access, but if they contain all the software you use and that you need, then it should be an easy decision.

• Import XAVC-S video for iPad 9.7 Pro

  I'm about to buy a Sony A5100 to capture high resolution video in format XAVC-S.

  I have been see in online forums that the iPad Pro is unable to manage the import of larger files (more than 15 sec or almost), despite being promoted as a K 4 x 4 video editing machine!

  Apparently the same problem persists when you use lighting to the USB Camera adapter. It was suggested that the NEW lighting USB3 adapter might work as it supports higher rates of transfer (4 K), BUT I just found out that it is only the 12.9' Pro who did USB3.0? Apparently, the 9.7 has USB 2.0.

  It's really frastrating given the poor marketing. What I want to do is simple; Record videos on my camera high resolution and change it on my iPad 9.7 Pro without the need to import first to a mac.

  Any help would be appreciated.

• 29W power supply will work for iPad 9.7 Pro

  My iPad Pro 9.7 inches provided with a power of 10 watts. It takes about six hours is responsible for the depletion of the layer to be 100% responsible. I would like to be able to do it faster. I noticed that the iPad Pro with a larger screen has a 29 Watt power supply available in the Apple Store. I bought this with the cable Apple to convert USB type C USB 2, which I am connected to my Flash a USB cable.  When I try on my Pro 9.7 inch iPad it charges no faster than six hours. Anyone who has tried using a larger power and they have managed to improve the loading time?

  The smaller iPad Pro does not have lightning speed USB - C compliant connector which has the bigger iPad Pro, so the special USB - C cable and 29W power supply wiil lightning does not work with the smaller iPad Pro to load more quickly.

  Return these back to Apple for a full refund.

  I'm trying to implement a communication inter-app with an application I created.  I wish I could press a button in my app and have a xls document that I put on my web server that is open in Excel of IOS app.  To do this, I know that I must make use of URL patterns.  I can get the button to open the Excel application itself using ms-excel: / /, but I can't seem to open the server document in the application.

  I tried the following:

  MS-excel://HTMLResources/file.xls (referencing in the resources folder)

  ms-excel: / /http://www.yoursite.com/fIslands/file.xls (reference directly via a url)

  
  

  These two options just open Excel, but not the document.
  

  
  

  I even tried to put in a superposition of web using snippets html such as referenced here: http://blogs.adobe.com/jlockman/2013/04/05/launching-external-apps-from-a-dps-folio/

  Someone has ideas, or are be familiar with URL patterns customized to the Office for ipad?

• Office 365 on tablets of future flows

  I'm hoping to buy a tablet in data flow when it will be available in the United Kingdom later this year. I appreciate it will come with 1-year subscription to Office 365 Personal. However, I already have a subscription to Office 365 family where I allowed 5 PCs and 5 tablets. I've exhausted all 5 of PC devices but only 2 tablets (iPad). Does anyone know if the tablet of flow would be considered as a tablet or a PC. If she is considered to be a PC I have no devices left on my subscription to support. However if it is considered to be a Tablet, then I would be able to use it on my subscription.

  I understand that you have questions about the license for your MS Office 365 for the Tablet HP Stream.

  To be honest I can't answer this question that HP does not control the license to a Microsoft product in some way. I personally cela a Tablet, not a PC but it's to Microsoft how you determine the difference between PC and tablet. They can be based on the operating system or simply by the title of feature.

  I would say to contact Microsoft directly, because they will be able to answer your question correctly: Office 365 Virtual Agent (Contact Support).

  Connect via the web to make sure that your credentials are correct.

  Take a look at your settings to make sure that you have configured things that you think you did.

  Know also the support of the Office 365 is generally world class, or at least for my Pro Plus version. If you to your portal and make grant almost always call you within 10 minutes they advertise. The support portal has good research so you can often find the answer by typing a question like the communities of Apple.

• Contacts E-mail only automatically add to Contacts from the Exchange (Office 365)

  Don't know if anyone else has this annoying problem...

  Something is create new E-mail contacts only in my 'Exchange' directory of contacts OSX. They do not appear in the 'Contacts' Exchange directory (I use Office 365 for enterprises).

  They seem to have been created emails, I sent in the past, but if I empty my "sent" folder it still happens. It's boring because very often they are duplicates of contacts I already have and they pop up in the email "to:" invite the field and in the calendar.

  Remove Contacts works for a day or two, but then they reappear later.

  Looking at my Office 365 people via a browser, I can't find a directory 'changes everything '... Just 'Contacts' and "Skype for Business Contacts" and only rogue e-mail contacts are not found.

  BTW I have disabled "Contacts are in the mail" in Contacts > Preferences.

  I don't know if there is a problem with OS X or with Exchange.

  Any ideas why this happens?

  I have exactly the same problem (already since OSX Mavericks) and it is very very annoying because he not only mess Contacts, but also the results of research in Mail. I filed a bug report last year, but nothing has happened with it.

  I have no idea how to solve this problem!

• SkyDrive, Office 365, and Windows 8 with different user names

  If you use your ID gmail to access skydrive, it's already your microsoft account.  (a microsoft account is not linked to a particular area such as outlook.com, hotmail.com or live.com).  your @gmail.com can also be your microsoft account.

  That said, you can use your id gmail for everything (the computer connection, skydrive account) and stop using the new microsoft account, you just created, or you can set up skydrive just to use your gmail account and continue logging in to your computer with the new microsoft account.

  to activate the skydrive account, launch skydrive, reveal the charms bar (move the mouse to the lower right), click settings, click options, and then click the logout button.  next time you start skydrive, you will be asked to log in.  Sign in with your gmail id and your password.

• Workspace horizon & Office 365 SMTP

  Try to set up the workspace for the first time in our lab environment. During the installation you will need to enter an address of SMTP server. We only use Office 365 for the incoming/outgoing mail. They have a SMTP server to the smtp.office365.com. The problem is that it fails the reverse DNS lookup. What else can I do to get the installer to finish?

  Just to spend in addition to the installation program, you can point to the Configurator - going. There is a demo SMTP server under it. Later be sure to change the SMTP protocol for something worthwhile for email notifications can be sent. How it should be in the manuals.

  Weird Office365 is not appropriate PTR records. It is a minimum security recommendations.

  I recently bought a new IPad 9.7 Pro who, on the items on the line, said I could use Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).  I downloaded applications from the store, but when I use it it must be a sign of Office 365, in which I assume that you must pay a subscription for.  Is this good?
