  • I bought a used under Windows XP SP2 desktop computer. I need to upgrade to SP3 to run MS Office Home and Student 2010. I was not able to be upgraded. Help!

I bought a used under Windows XP SP2 desktop computer.  I need to upgrade to SP3 to run MS Office Home and Student 2010.  I was not able to be upgraded.  Help!

If I where to install SP3 I would choose to download the
file and don't use automatic updates.

Where to download the SP3 Setup file:
(The file is large but only installs the components required by your PC)

I would also create a "save image" of my front disc
to install SP3 just in case you have problems.
Not having any Image backup software:
Try the 'True Image' (has a 15 day trial version available)

  • Impossible to get a clean install MS Office Home and Student 2010

Running Windows 7, 64 bit, on a new HP Pavilion dv6-1149wm.  The CD Microsoft Office Home and student 2010 that came with our new laptop HP was sealed & in excellent condition. The product key is good and when the installation is complete, all looks like the suite is running... But... MS Access, Outlook, and Publisher open as 'demo', with 'outdated date', and then the program stops.  Nowhere on the packaging, or on the screen it says these three programs have not were included in our purchase... it's a full CD Version of MS Office home & student 2010 included with our new HP laptop.

After only a partial installation, we had MAJOR problems, it do Uninstall... had these error messages like: "problems with the registry", a "matter of WOW64", "keys to registry corrupt Patch" and "corrupt or missing patch cache".   Finally found a version of Mr. Fix - it on the MS site that seems to have everything removed (uninstall program was no help at all)... and then ran my Max registry cleaner (he finds plenty to fix).  Back to the drawing board, and I am SO afraid to try the installation "another one".

I spent countless hours in the last 3 months in trying to get out.  Is it possible there is a factory setting on my PC which is not driven out of the trial on these 3 programs and prevents proper installation?  I totally liked my HP Pavilion Desktop Windows XP... and would have never replaced she had not "upwards of"n"is dead"... and until now Windows 7 has not measured up to - not even close!

    Thanks for ANY help!

    Hello

Unfortunately, "Home and Student" edition only comes with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and One Note.

During the installation, you should have an opportunity to not install these trial versions.  That could help your installation problems.

  • Installation of Office home and Student 2007 on the current computer with Windows Vista

Why I can't install this program on my current computer which has Windows Vista Home Premium?  It will so far, and then this prompt appears, the program Setup cannot find HomeStudentr.ww\HomeSrww.cab.  Browse to a valid installation source and then click ok.  Where is this HomeStudentr.ww\HomeSRww.cab?  What and where can I find a valid installation source?

What I have to do a clean boot on my computer before you install Office home and Student 2007?

    Hi JERRY HOOPER,

We encounter this error message if the installation disc is corrupt. I suggest you try to copy the contents of the Microsoft Office disk on the hard drive and launch the installation from there. You can delete these files once the installation is complete.

You can refer to this article How to troubleshoot issues that may occur when you try to install a 2007 Office system from the system Office 2007 CD or DVD program

  • Installation of Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 is approximately 70%, then crashes with an error "1719 net server not available" in Windows 7.

Original title: How can I fix the Win7 Installer

Is there a way to repair just the installer on Win7?

Trying to install MS Office Home and Student 2010 on my Win7 machine is hopeless.  Installation is approximately 70%, then crashes with an error 1719 net server are not accessible, referencing me to the Win7 installer itself.

I have little if difficulties to install other applications and the only other solutions I've seen online say to reinstall Win7, and I'm not about to go there, then reinstall all my other applications just to do Office work.

    Hi Odee,

The problem is most likely a corrupt Windows Installer problem.

In addition to the suggestion of BurrWalnut , please make sure that the Windows Installer service is enabled.

    Step 1:

The Windows Installer service can be disabled on the computer.

    a. go to "Start "-> "run ", type "services.msc " and press the "Enter " key.

    b. double-click on the service named "Windows Installer ".

    c. check the value the "start type: " field. Is currently set to "Disabled ", then that's the problem. Change it by selecting 'Manual ' in the menu dropdown.

    Step 2:

Now, Uninstall all traces of Office applications and the reinstall it.

If you are unable to uninstall, use this link to uninstall.

  • Why windows remove office home and student 2010 and replace it with office 14

I bought MS Office Home and Student 2010 and installed on my computer directly from Ms. It was working fine and clearly tagged Office 2010. For some unknown reason, I know Windows has decided to uninstall it, and now I have Office 14. I bought the full version of 2010, so why would he do it?

"Office 14" is a pseudonym for Microsoft Office 2010.  The folder that is installed is called 'Office 14'.  But it is still Microsoft Home and Student 2010, regardless of the name of the folder.

  • Code 646 error when updated Vista Home for my Office Home and Student 2007 for KB976321.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2.  System type 32-bit operating system.  KB976321 will not update.  I have Office home and Student 2007.  Any suggestions?

Once from time to time, you must manually install the patches.  Have you tried to download and run the patch manually (without using Windows Update)?

If not, you can download the patch here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=160ad53e-6475-4550-90c2-444e4abea730.  Clickk download and then run.  You must accept the agreement, then click on continue.  After installing, restart Microsoft Update and click find updates.  If all goes well, it will show that you are completely patched.

If this does not work, try to run the Microsoft OneCare safety scanner.  Sometimes it will solve problems of hidden registry, or can clear the virus that can prevent the installation of the patches: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm. Click full service scan, and then Quick scan (full scan takes a long time to complete). Try the patches.

  • Office home and Student 2007 3 licenses

I recently bought a new laptop, a new office and Office home and Student 2007 pc. I installed OH & S 2007 on two computers. Later, I upgraded to W7 from Vista and had to remove all previously installed programs. When I reinstall OH & S 2007, which will count for the 3rd license?

  • How to recover photos deleted in Office home and Student 2007

Deleted some files of picture of a USB Drive - is there a way to recover them.  I have the Windows XP Office home and Student 2007 installed in my computer.  You will appreciate any assistance.  Thank you... Violeta Galvez

Have you looked in the trash?

No longer use the USB (if you continued to use it after you have removed the photos, data may be irretrievable).

Download Recuva and install it on your computer.  Then connect the USB to the computer and use Recuva to see if any of the data on the USB is recoverable.
