Office jet 670o Premium: HP Officejet 6700 premium - printhead missing or defective

I'm having the same error as many others on this forum re: error message suddenly appears saying that the printhead is missing or defective. I followed all steps suggested HP, i.e., unplug the unit, check the ink cartridges, etc.. None of them has nothing to fix or cross the same question. My printer is about 2 years, so more under warranty.  There is no explanation for the cleaning of the printheads on the 6700 and other products do not translate to the 6700.  I watched about 1/4 on the blog, some at the beginning and at the end and that you won't lose my pages in all 12 looking for time to dissatisfied customers.

And I just bought and installed new ink cartridges that are not cheap.  What a waste...

Please let me know what I can do would be much less $ than buying a new printer, because it surely won't be a HP.   This is a problem for years and always HP chose not to solve.  they would rather you buy another HP throw.  Good luck!

I got a call, what was missing Monday, about this incident.  The HP person said they'd call yesterday, they, or they leave a callback number, it's the only way I can answer.  Pls call me on my cell phone, or leave a number that I can reach you.  Thank you.  Dan

  • Office Jet 8600 Premium: printing from iPhone to non - Airprint Office Jet

I'm trying to set up a simple network. I have a router Linksys, Windows 7 computer, HP Office Jet 8600 Premium and a few iPhones.  I want to be able to print from the computer and print wireless from iPhones.

My first thought was to connect the computer and the printer to the router using Ethernet cables and turn off the radio of the printer.  If I do this, when I connect my iPhone to the network router wireless, will they see the printer and be able to print?

Or do I need to connect the printer to the wireless router?  If I do this, the computer will still be able to print through the router?

    Thank you.

    Hello

You can connect the printer to your router with an ethernet cable or wireless.

As long as the printer and iPhones are connected to the same router, you can print to the printer using AirPrint.

  • Office jet Pro Premium 8600: print 2 sides

I use a Macbook Pro OS X 10,11.3.  I also have on my computer Microsoft Office for Mac.  My printer (Office jet Pro Premium 8600) allows a 2 sided printing except if I try to print something from Microsoft Word.  When I try to print with Word, for 2-sided printing option does not appear.

How can I make 2 sides print with Word?

    Hi @John52387,

Thank you for your participation in the Forums of HP Support! I'd be happy to help you print 2 sides of the word. I suspect that you may need to select printing 2 sides in another program, and then save these settings as a preset impression. Once you have created this new preset, you can select the preset when you print from Word.

Although the following Apple article says OS X Yosemite in the title, the instructions also apply to El Capitan: Save your settings to print to use later.

Thank you. If you need more assistance let me know and I will gladly do whatever I can to help.

  • HP OFFICE JET 4630 printer: HP officejet all-in-one 4630

Printer HP 4630 will sleep (extended) every time I have stop printing for about 10 minutes.  When I try to print a different document/photo I have to press the power button to wake it up.  I then have to close the wireless connection, and then reconnect the wireless connection using the printer menu.

How can I stop the printer to go into hibernation?  I like to keep the printer on 24/7, unless I turn it off.  In other words, make a 'real' power button power button.  How am I susposed to print from my laptop currencies if I continue to go to the printer to wake up from hibernation and reset the wireless connection?

I hope someone can resolve this issure for me!  Thank you...

    Hi @hlpmeplz,

If I understand your description your printer will not wake up or answer when you send a print job, unless you turn off and turn back on again. It seems to me that the problem is with the wireless connection. When you turn off the printer, and the back is re-establish the connection. We will set a static IP address and see if that fixes the problem so.

There is no option to turn off the sleep function, you can change the time it takes to fall into the mode "sleep", but not turn it off. Instead, please use the following document to assign the printer a static IP address: 4630 Officejet HP and HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4640 e-all-in-one printer series - printer does not maintain the wireless connection. Simply scroll three Solution: the printer of the assign a static IP address.  If the problem persists, start at the top of the document that the solutions presented relate to connection problems.

Please let me know if that solves the problem by marking this post as an acceptable Solution. If you need more assistance let me know and I will gladly do whatever I can to help. Thank you.

  • HP Officejet 6700 Premium: HP Officejet 6700 Premium - missing or has no print head Error Message

THIS IS A MUST READ! COSTCO ROCKS! I bought my HP 6700 just less than 3 years after the explosion of ink everywhere inside a different HP printer and stopped working on me. (Which I thought was my fault. Now, I'm not sure.) A week ago, I started getting the error message "printhead missing or defective. I have tried everything what he has proposed and managed to make a few more before copies he refused to do more. I had online in the hope of finding a solution and found this forum and all the people, swearing to never buy another product HP because of this obvious 'planned obsolescence'. I had just replaced the ink cartridges twice, which showed how little I used it, but I had it for 3 YEARS so I thought I'm screwed!  I was angry against HP and I wanted to do COSTCO know they should stop selling their shit. I called COSTCO and spoke to a young woman and asked if they had had a lot of feedback on this model. She asked her supervisor, and he said a couple, but not something unusual. I said on this forum, and how they probably had not heard anything because most failed right after the warranty expires! She said "well bring back! I said 'What?'. «» Bring back! ", she said. I managed to stifle the "but, but, the guarantee was until TWO YEARS ago! She said "we worry not about the manufacturer's warranty. We want our customers to be happy with everything they buy at COSTCO! ». It's as simple as that.

    I repeat. COSTCO ROCKS!

Now, if everybody who bought this printer from COSTCO back it when (not so) it breaks, even long after that the warranty is up, and COSTCO may be sending all back to HP, HP will begin to worry that annoy me COSTCO is a bad idea. And then maybe the poor people who have bought their printer elsewhere will begin to get an appropriate response to their complaints. I hope this post doesn't fighting flag and delete for inappropriate language. I tried to keep PG :-)

  • Office jet 6700 Premium: Officejet 6700 on El Capitan installation generates error message

My Officejet 6700 would print but it would print in grayscale color). I downloaded the HP - inkjet ink-SW-OSX - Mavericks_v12.34.51 (I note was released in October 2015, but also notes that the Mavericks is two itterations - old Yosemite was the next and now its El Capitan). I deleted my old HP 6700 driver and tried to install the new driver. But I get an error. I was going to attach screenshots of the error msg but do not see this option. I tried several times with the same result. Even tried to download driver HP - inkjet ink-SW-OSX - Mavericks_v12.34.51 a 2nd time.

The driver should not be accurate for El Capitan instead of Mavericks, i.e. There are two OSs?

I felt like I was in a 'catch 22' because I had deleted my old driver and now the new driver is not install and now I had no driver with which to print... so, I slept on it and went back just to try the 'install new printer' "printer & fax" introduced in system preferences. Here, I was introduced to here, and optionally 'Air Print', I chose! This works. Thus, it is apparently a bug in the HP - inkjet ink-SW-OSX - Mavericks_v12.34.51 driver installation routine if you attempt to add a printer during the installation / implementation, but if you install the new driver and then just go to System Preferences and add a printer, everything is ok ;-)

  • MAC OS 10.4 and printer Office Jet 6700 Premium

You had to buy a new printer, Office Jet 6700 Premium. Networking Wireless with Windows PC, but cannot install Intel Mac Mini Tiger 10.4.1 running pre. Printer drivers are under MAC OS 10.5 and higher. Is there a work around? I try the installation CD without crashing the computer?

    Hello

The printer is supported by OS X 10.5 and above, as you can see by the specifications below:

    http://www.shopping.HP.com/shopping/PDF/cn583a.PDF

Try to set another pilot to get printing features and get a limited feature scan using Webscan via your browser.

You will not be able to get all the features as the installation will fail on OS X 10.4

    1. In the Application's folder, go to the utilities subfolder and open The printer setup utility.
    2. In the printer list that appears, click Add.
    3. In windows, from the menu above, select default browser.
    4. Highlight the printer 6700 and spend the menu popup using Print .
    5. Select HP in this menu and then locate the HP Deskjet 6500 must fit into the operating system.

To scan, use the feature of Webscan.

You will need enable the feature of Webscan first:

    1. From Safari, type the IP address of the printer to enter the Web integrated printer server page.
    2. Enter the settings tab.
    3. Under Security, enter the parameters of the administrator.
    4. Check the box next to Webscan and click apply

Now, you will be able to scan by accessing the analysis of SAP tab.

    Kind regards

  • Office Jet 6700 Premium: unable to print from 6700 JO unless I wake up

    Hello

The appellant here desperate because I cannot solve this ongoing problem.

    System set up:

    Office Office

    HP Office Jet 6700 premium

Wire in a BT Home Hub

    Laptop HP EVO, running wireless

    Problem:

I can no longer print the laptop wireless. I need to go to my office and print something. Then only the printer seems to be "awake", and then I can print from the laptop. As you can imagine this is not how it is supposed to be and this causes a lot of frustration.

The printer is also set for a static IP address (it was to solve other printing problems ). I also checked the firmware, and it is up to date.

Please tell us how to solve this problem.

    Thanking you in advance

    Wolfgang

    Hi @Klee66,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that your HP Office Jet 6700 Premium do not wake up when you print on it, unless you wake up before hand. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

There could be many reasons why this is happening, so please bear with me.

I see what your printer firmware is up to date, which is good.

    • Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

Please try Fix It tool of Microsofts, solve printer problems.

You do not share the printer from the computer desktop you have in sharing files and printing? Otherwise, this could cause part of the problem.

Do you turn the printer power on and off?

I can't see what your printer is connected to the BT Hub with an ethernet cable.

It is possible that the laptop is connected to the printer cannot communicate on the 5.0 GHz network. If they are of the same name that will be confusing.

Have you tried to configure the wireless and no cable connection on the printer to see if it makes a difference?

How old is the router, have you also checked to see if the router firmware is up-to-date?

Is the router dual-band? Two networks are the same SSID for 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz? If so, change the SSID to 5.0 GHz to a different name and restart all devices.

What router do you have to BT?

I suggest you read this article by BT, I have problems of connection of 5 GHz and features dual band wireless BT Home Hub 4 or 5 Hub.

I see that you have setup a static IP address. It's a good idea to assign the printer a static IP address outside your DHCP range. For example, some routers default DHCP is located between 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.200. So, I would use 192.168.0.232.

While in SAP, open the network tab, and then select IPv4.

Set the manual DNS on the printer.

    • Set the primary DNS as 8.8.8.8
    • And the secondary DNS as 8.8.4.4

I would like to try the steps in this guide, HP printers - printer (Windows 8) "offline" Status Message.

  • My HP Office Jet 6700 Premium has suddenly stopped printing from my iPad

I have a new HP Office Jet 6700 Premium

It worked very well, wireless printing from my iPad.

iPad displays a window that recognizes the printer, but it does not print.

    There is no error message.

The steps below a usually resolve the problem you are experiencing:

    1. turn off the printer.

    2. completely turn off iOS devices (hold sleep and home buttons simultaneously until a message appears prompting you to "Slide to power off". Drag on this bar, and it should completely turned off).

    3. turn the printer on.

    4. switch on the devices iOS back.

    5 try printing again.

These steps usually fix the problem. If they don't, try these additional steps:

    6. power cycle your router (usually done by unplugging the power cord from the router, wait 20 seconds and in him plugging back in).

    7. ensure that iOS devices and the printer are connected to the same network, and then try to print.

  • answering machine software for HP office jet 6700 premium?

    Hi Windows 8.

As the office jet 6700 is attached to the phone line is a software feature (or 3rd party software) which allows the PC to act as the answering machine?

I know that in the old days of dial-up Modem software such has been ubiquitous.

I just want to cut my old answering machine for the configuration of the installation if possible loop.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

    Rob.

Sorry, there is no functionality of software to allow the Pc to act as the answering machine. The answering machine is connected to the printer because it detects the printer calls.

When a call comes, the printer reacts and reads as follows the line of the signals. He sends the call to the correct line (fax, phone or answering machine). This is the reason why the answering machine is connected to the printer. The computer will not be able to accept or guided calls or pick them up. Thanks for asking though, maybe in the future.
