Office jet pro 8500: firmware update - what's new?

After several years of no update suddenly my Officejet 8500 (910g) firmware gets updated - is there a documentation as to what are the changes? The new firmware is LRP1FN1621DR

Hello

Thank you for using the HP Forums.  My apologies for jumping.

Here are the changes for 2016 firmware:

  1. Update the SSL certificate to comply with the amendment on the cloud server.
  2. Fixed various IE11 and edge browser EWS compatibility issue.
  3. Improved security ePrint.

Hope that helps!

When you try to install the printer an error message is displayed.

The help of HP suggests using the Mac update, but I guess as have not yet had time to do an update to the 8500.

It doesn't seem to be a download again on the HP site.

Any ideas on what I can do, and before anyone suggests, I don't want to buy a new printer!

Well Yes, I recommend a few levels:

    1. the base drivers from Apple (at HP, in fact): http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907

    2. restart your Mac.

    3. download and install the full setting: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-108394-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=219&product=4083969&sw_lang=

  • Office Jet Pro 8500 a menu on my PC has changed

I have an Office Jet Pro 8500 has. The menu on my PC when I turn on the unit has changed. Before he gave me access to change the settings for photos, Scans, etc. and save these settings. There was lots of other options too.

Now what I get is a Quick Menu on PC that does not allow me to do so much and can not save the settings. Were there an update that caused it? If so, how can I get that back?

Does anyone else have this problem?

You are of the correct crime, there was an update for this software which has led to this issue.

You will need to uninstall the current software that you have for the Officejet 8500 and reinstall with the latest drivers.

Choose the appropriate driver for the correct version of 8500 a you have below:

    OfficeJet 8500 has more pilots

  • Office Jet Pro 8625: Web update Services downloads partially, then freezes

When I try to download an update for web services, my Office Jet 8625 downloads a part of the update then just stops downloading.  Sometimes the reports printer as little as 5% of the downloaded software, sometimes as much as 45% downloads before the download progress comes to an abrupt stop.  Or anywhere in between.  Finally, I get the error message "failed download.  Product update could not be downloaded"I tried to restart the printer and I restarted the computer (even though I think that the printer is download regardless of the computer).

All other downloads to the computer (including video streaming bandwidth intensive) are no problem.

    Hi @Esteban001.

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that your 8625 cannot download an update of the firmware. I would like to help.

I see two ways to address this issue. It could be a bad quality of Web Services State of the connection is causing this to happen. You can find Web Services troubleshooting in this post from @E-roqPro tips: Troubleshooting printing and scanning to Email Issues in e-all-in-one printers.

The other approach is to download the update of the firmware on your computer and then update the printer. You can find the update of the firmware on the same page as the drivers and software for printers. Just scroll down until you see the Firmware and click on it. Here is a link to the page of the pilot 8625.

  • HP Office Jet Pro 8500 A: printer refuses to send photos to the computer. He wants to print.

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500 has.  I use the sd card reader to upload my pictures on the desktop.  As soon as I inserted the card, the printer would automatically open on the screen and ask me if I want to view, analyze everything first, or whatever.  Suddenly, he stopped to do all this.  Now as soon as I insert the card, the printer asks me if I want to view & print, create or reprint.  It will not send the photos on the card to the computer.

That's happened?  How can I get this back to the way it was?

    Thank you

    Glory

    Hi @glory281 ,

I see that you have problems to download the pictures from the SD card to the computer. I would like to help you today.

I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.
Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector.
This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

If you have another SD card, try it also, just to rule out the SD card.

Power cycle the router, restart the computer and the printer.

Try to download the photos again.

Update the firmware of the printer, if you still have problems. HP Officejet Pro Firmware.

I would also download and run the printing and scanning doctor. It will diagnose the problem and could solve it automatically. http://www.HP.com/go/tools

What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (she print or scan, error messages)

If you need help, let me know.

    Have a great day!
    Thank you.

    Hello Robin,.

Thank you very much for your answers and your efforts! My sincerest apologies for not knowing that Windows 7 Professional 64 bit rested not with the tool! I learned something new from you and thank you so much for this!

We can try level 3 or 4 uninstall manually, instead of running the tool. I understand that the tool would be the easiest method. Here are the steps for you.

There are 2 ways you can run levels:

    Of the Original installation CD:

    1. Insert the CD in the drive and then cancel Setup

    2. open "Computer", and then right click on CD drive and open

    3 open the Util folder

    4 open the CCC folder

5 If you have an HP computer, run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a computer not HP, run the L4uninstall.exe

    6. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer

7 run the Accessories\ System Tools Disk Cleanup

    8. perform a clean boot

    9. run the download to reinstall the printer ( HP Officejet Pro Full Feature software and driver )

If the software has been downloaded and extracted the download of the driver for your system:

    1. click on start and type %temp% in the search box, open the folder

    2. Locate and open the folder starting with 7z (example: 7zS2356) (if there is more than one, choose the most recent folder)

    8. perform the clean boot

(9 download drivers and full software features HP Officejet Pro Full Feature software and driver )

I really hope that does the trick!

    Happy Thursday

  • Office jet pro 8500 a: elimination of printer, was this encrypted model? How to destroy the hard drive?

    This model encrypted?

If this is not the case, how to destroy the hard drive? Where is the hard drive?

    Hi @Diane47,

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support with your request to printer.

I understand that you have a HP Officejet Pro 8500 has e-all-in-one printer you plan to elimination and you wonder if the hard disk is encrypted and how to destroy the hard drive. I would like to help with that.

HP Officejet Pro 8500 has e-all-in-one printer don't have a hard drive. It contains a very small amout of memory, so it can keep in memory the printer and fax settings.

You can clear the memory by restyoring the printer back to the default values.

    1. on the printer Panel, select Setup.

    2. from the Configuration menu, select Tools.

    3. on the Tools menu, select Restore Factory Defaults.

HP offers to recycle their products for you. If you want to know more about it, please click here.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

I installed the blue ink cartridge and is not blue print... I went to troubleshooting, aligned and cleaned the print heads. Printer unplugged for 15 sec, reconnected... No help...

    HI SharonH57,

I enclose a document here that you may find useful.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-OfficeJet-Pro-8500-all-in-one-printer-series---A909/3752454/model/3752455/document/c01980797/

This document will show you want to print a diagnostic page.  It is important to check if you get a cyan on this page.  If there is nothing on the page - no cyan ink goes out.

You may have a kink in a tube of ink - or your printhead may simply need cleaning.
Follow the steps described in this document for more information.

Help, please! I can't get my Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless print. I had this printer since early September and did not it works wireless on my laptop with the exception by using the USB configuration.

I have a Dell laptop that I had problems at the beginning to recognize the printer, but it does now. But when I go to print, I get an error message that the printer is 'offline' and I get another error message "failure of the document to print. I made sure that the printer is online via the Control Panel, printers etc. sequence. I turned off the printer and unplug the router, too which is a Linksys WRT350N Wireless N. But in vain. I have desktop Dell that is wired through the router works fine, just like two other laptops wireless HP and a Sony Vaio that print wireless. Yes, it's your problem.  VPN will not allow an accessory device network, including printers, while VPN is active.
